That day, Sasuke was just about to head out for a mission as usual. On his way out, he bumped into his aniki, who was busy reading a scroll in the living room. Itachi greeted him, "Sasuke, a mission?" Sasuke nodded, offering a simple "Hn" to his older brother, yet his gaze remained fixed on Itachi as the latter returned to his reading.
It wasn't surprising that Itachi loved to read, but what baffled him this time were Itachi's clothes—outfit Sasuke had never seen before. He wondered if Itachi was drunk or something, because what kind of Uchiha wears bright red clothes? Sasuke thought to himself.
Finally, he couldn't help but ask, "Aniki, new clothes? The color is a bit... bright." Sasuke didn't want to embarrass Itachi by saying, "Itachi, are you serious with that outfit? What Uchiha wears red?" Fortunately, he still had a conscience.
Itachi offered a soft smile to his little brother and replied, "Someone said this color might suit me, so I’m trying it out." Sasuke nodded, though internally he was cursing whoever had suggested Itachi wear red.
It was truly unbelievable that someone could convince his brother—who never did anything unless he wanted to—to wear such a ridiculous outfit. Sasuke finally said his goodbyes and headed out.

After completing a mission, they usually celebrated before heading to their respective homes. To be honest, it was more like a reunion; Team 7 hadn't had a mission together in a long time and rarely saw each other due to their busy schedules. Sasuke was a member of the Konoha Police Force, Sakura was busy at the hospital, and Naruto followed his mentor, that pervy sage, traveling the world to gather information for the village.
This time, they were having dinner at Sakura’s apartment. Naruto and Sasuke were setting up the equipment to cook hotpot—Naruto's idea, of course—while Sakura was showering.
Once everything was ready—vegetables, ramen, meat, and utensils all set—Sakura emerged wearing an Uchiha shirt that Sasuke assumed was his own, paired with long pants. Sakura had a habit of wearing outgrown shirts from the boys on her team.
Sasuke was reminded again of the moment before his mission when Itachi was wearing red. He sighed at the memory, still unable to believe what he had seen.
"Is something wrong, Sasuke-kun?" Sakura asked, noticing him daydreaming. Sasuke startled and shook his head.
Then Naruto charged in cheerily, "ALRIGHT GUYS, HOT POT PARTY!" And so, the three of them finally had dinner together. It felt good to be back together as a team. Of course, dinner wasn't exactly quiet, as Naruto and Sasuke began competing over who could finish their bowl the fastest. Sakura just shook her head at the two boys' antics.

That morning, Sasuke and his mother were talking in the kitchen. His mother asked about his team and the mission from two days ago. He explained that the mission went smoothly and didn't take long, mentioning how Naruto had stupidly tripped and fallen from a tree on the way back, forcing them to find an inn for the night so Sakura could heal him in peace.
"It’s a good thing you went with Sakura-san. I feel like it's been a while since the three of you went on a mission together," Mikoto remarked.
"Yeah, this is the first time we've been assigned as a team again in a while," Sasuke replied while grabbing a drink of water.
"Invite them over for dinner sometime, Sasu-chan. It’s been ages since Team 7 visited this house, hasn’t it?"
Sasuke answered, "Hn, if we have free time, I’ll invite them." As Sasuke said that, Itachi walked in to get a drink beside him. Sasuke frowned at an unusual scent lingering on his aniki. The scent was familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he’d smelled it before. Sasuke eventually brushed it off and continued talking to the Matriarch.

Sasuke was on patrol duty for the Konoha Uchiha Police. He was patrolling alone that afternoon when, passing through the merchant district, he caught sight of a familiar tuft of pink hair. His eyes followed Sakura as she stopped at a dango shop.
Sasuke noticed Sakura was buying a lot of dango—two large portions with several skewers each. Sasuke frowned. Didn't Sakura prefer anmitsu over dango? She was buying far too much just for herself, he thought.
However, since his patrol had to continue, Sasuke left without greeting her. Besides, it seemed Sakura had plans with someone else, judging by the amount of food she bought.

When he got home, it turned out his brother had arrived first and was chatting with their mother. Sasuke could faintly hear his mother squealing and caught snippets about his aniki having a girlfriend. To be honest, Sasuke was shocked; he never expected his brother to have that kind of romantic relationship. The only things Sasuke knew his brother cared about were missions, missions, and more missions.
He also overheard that his brother was inviting his lover for dinner tomorrow—the same night as the Team 7 dinner, Sasuke realized. After that, Sasuke passed through the living room toward his bedroom.

Today was the Team 7 dinner. Sasuke had instructed Naruto to contact Sakura and invite her to the Uchiha estate, as Sasuke hadn't had a chance to see her since that day at the dango shop.
Naruto arrived early because he wanted to play a game that had recently gone viral in Konoha, Ninja's War. Sasuke agreed, suggesting they play before dinner, which made Naruto ecstatic.
So there they were, dueling in the game while Itachi read a book, occasionally glancing at the match. Sasuke had invited his brother to play, but Itachi politely declined, wanting to spend time with the book he’d borrowed from the library yesterday.
A knock sounded at the door, and Sasuke sensed Sakura's chakra. He went to stand up to open the door for his teammate, but Itachi cut him off. "I'll get it, Sasuke." Sasuke agreed without any suspicion. Meanwhile, Mikoto shouted that dinner was ready.
At the dining table, his father and mother were already seated. Sasuke and Naruto followed, sitting next to Mikoto. Sasuke frowned when he saw the table was only set for six people. Isn't Itachi's girlfriend coming? he wondered.
Finally, he asked his mother, "Mom, I heard Itachi’s girlfriend was coming today too? You forgot to set a place." His mother giggled but before she could explain, his brother walked in with Sakura.
Itachi pulled out a chair for the pink-haired girl right next to his own seat. Sakura thanked him with a soft smile. None of this escaped the eyes of Sasuke and Naruto. Sasuke looked at his mother again and asked, "So, where is Itachi's girlfriend?" Sasuke felt uneasy, fearing the answer from either his mother or his brother.
Itachi smirked at his restless younger brother and at Naruto, who still seemed oblivious. "My girlfriend is right in front of you, little brother." Mikoto immediately burst into laughter. Fugaku cleared his throat while sipping his tea, watching the show unfolding between the young people. As for Sakura, her cheeks were bright red at her boyfriend's bluntness.
Sasuke stiffened as his suspicions were confirmed. Naruto, in his innocence, still didn't grasp the situation and asked a stupid question: "But the only people in front of Sasuke are you and Sakura-chan!"
Sasuke sighed at Naruto's denseness and explained to his baka friend, "That means my aniki's girlfriend is Sakura, Naruto." Naruto's eyes went wide as he reflexively screamed, "WHAAAT?!"

After a dinner that was initially chaotic (mostly just Naruto), everyone—especially Team 7—finally accepted the reality that Itachi’s girlfriend was their Sakura-chan, their own teammate. Fugaku and Mikoto retired to their room, leaving the youngsters alone, knowing they had things to discuss.
Naruto was the first to protest why Sakura-chan was dating Itachi, claiming the teme's brother didn't have a romantic bone in his body and was as stiff as a dry sponge.
Sakura glared at her blonde friend, whom she considered a little brother, and fiercely stated that Itachi was not a dry sponge and was very kind to her. Naruto eventually had to accept the bitter truth.
Sasuke asked Itachi, "How long have you two been together?" Itachi smiled at his brother before saying, "Over a year." Sasuke’s eyes widened; he couldn't believe they had hidden their relationship so perfectly.
He thought back to all the strange occurrences lately, then looked at Itachi. "So the person who suggested you wear red was Sakura?" Sakura laughed. "You know, Sasuke-kun, your dear aniki lost a bet with me, so he had to carry out his punishment." Sasuke finally found that logical. He continued, "And the different scent I smelled on Itachi that day... and you buying all that dango... that means...?"
Itachi answered this time, "I did stay over at Sakura's place. Of course, we shared the same shampoo. And yes, Sakura bought that dango for me."
"You guys really kept this a secret. Why?"
Itachi reflected for a moment. "I wanted to introduce my future wife when the clan was stable and there was no tension. That's why we hid it." Itachi sighed, and Sakura took his hand, squeezing it gently.
Naruto screamed again, and Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Sakura-chan, you’re touching teme's brother right in front of us?" Sakura huffed at Naruto, "I’m supporting my boyfriend, Naruto!" She glared at him. Naruto slumped his head, unable to protest when Sakura-chan focused all her attention on Sasuke's brother.
The blonde boy’s eyes nearly popped out when Itachi intentionally pulled Sakura close and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. As for Sasuke, if Naruto's reaction was a stare, Sasuke's was worse—he spit out the water he was drinking. Fortunately, he didn't spray the couple, but rather his dobe friend next to him. Sasuke still valued his life too much to spit water at Itachi and Sakura.
The day ended with Team 7 finally knowing the truth about Itachi and Sakura. Meanwhile, in their room, Fugaku and Mikoto were already planning a wedding for the clan heir. Mikoto, specifically, was very enthusiastic about it, while Fugaku simply let his wife run with her brilliant plans. Contrary to some old clan beliefs, since Fugaku’s leadership, the Uchiha clan allowed marriage with those outside the clan.

There was one thing Sasuke didn't realize until this day: the Uchiha shirt he thought was his when they had dinner at Sakura's house actually wasn't his. There was a story behind it.
Long before that dinner, about a month after Itachi and Sakura made their relationship official:
Itachi was staying over at Sakura's place. Sakura was happy to spend the night with her lover. After showering, Sakura approached Itachi in the dining area for dinner.
Itachi stared when he saw Sakura wearing a signature Uchiha shirt with a wide, high collar that looked a bit worn. When Sakura turned her back to him, he couldn't stay quiet.
"Sakura, where did that shirt come from?"
Sakura turned to her boyfriend and answered, "This is Sasuke-kun’s old shirt that doesn't fit him anymore, Tachi. I enjoy wearing the outgrown clothes of the boys on my team—Naruto and Kakashi-sensei too." Sakura said it cheerily before Itachi’s gaze turned colder.
"Take it off," Itachi said in a low tone.
Sakura frowned at his behavior. "What do you mean, Tachi?"
Without a word, Itachi approached her, slung her over his shoulder like a sack of rice, and headed for the bedroom. After that, only the sounds of Sakura’s yelps and groans could be heard. Whatever happened in there, Itachi certainly took his frustration out on Sakura that night.
A few hours later, at exactly 11 PM, they finally had the dinner they had delayed. However, they ate in the bedroom because Sakura was too tired and lazy to walk.
Itachi, wearing only his trousers, agreed and fed Sakura—who was curled up in a blanket like a cocoon—with genuine affection.
When morning came, Sakura woke up to find Itachi wasn't beside her; it seemed he was cooking. Sakura realized she was wearing an Uchiha shirt 'again,' but it wasn't Sasuke's—it was her boyfriend's.
Sakura shook her head weakly, not expecting her lover to get so annoyed or even angry over something like that. But Sakura was happy to see that Itachi could be possessive too—something new to her.
When she went to shower and grab her clothes, she saw that the section of the closet where she kept Sasuke, Naruto, and Kakashi’s old clothes had been replaced. In their place were black shirts with the Uchiha crest that definitely weren't Sasuke's. Sakura gasped. She picked one up and smelled the distinct scent of her lover. Yes, they were all Itachi Uchiha's clothes.
Itachi, peeking through the door, smirked at the sight of his girlfriend holding his clothes.
