A new thing to learn.
•••
Ulysses Wilhelm had worn a belt that was too tight today, and now an imprint was left on his skin. Eloise Taulner asked him why he wore it in the first place, and his response was that he didn't want his pants to fall down. From the look on her face, it was clear she didn't quite understand what he meant.
"Boys' hips are narrower than girls' hips," he explained. "We need belts in order to keep our pants from falling down."
Her brows furrowed. "That's... Really?"
He nodded. "Why do you think men used to wear suspenders?"
"For style, I guess..." She glanced at his belt-less pants. "I'll buy you more comfortable belts."
"You don't have to."
"It's okay. Really."
If Eloise really wanted to do this, then Ulysses wasn't going to stop her. At least he could teach her something new today.
