It's Christmas Eve in Arcadia Oaks and the Trollhunters were all out shopping for their last minute gifts for each other.
"Okay, so here's the plan." Jim said in an all too serious tone. "Carter and I will go shopping for Claire and Douxie, while Claire and Douxie go shopping for us."
"Sounds like a plan." Douxie smiled as he pulled Carter close to his side and gave him a kiss on the forehead. "I'm sure whatever my cariad picks out will be amazing as always."
"What can I say? Only the best for the sexiest man alive." Carter said with a sly smirk before giving Douxie a quick kiss on the cheek and let go of his hand. "Love you babe, see you in a few."
"Yeah, see you in a few." Douxie smiled as he watched his fiance walk off into the mall. Then he turned to Claire. "So, do you know what your getting for Jim?"
"Of course I do, I'm getting him a new Vespa." Claire said with a proud smile on her face. "I've been saving up all year."
"Wow, how the bloody hell did you manage to that?" Douxie asked in shock. "Aren't those things a couple hundred bucks?"
"Yeah, but like I said, I've been saving up all year." Claire said. "What about you? What are you going to get for your sunshine?"
"Uh. . ." Douxie said, scratching the back of his neck as he couldn't seem to answer. However, from the guilty look on his face Claire was able to figure it out.
"You have absolutely no idea what to get for him, do you?" Claire asked as a matter of factly as she shook her head. "Some partner you are."
"Hey, we've had eighty plus Christmas' together and it's kind of hard to think of new things to get each other." Douxie explained honestly. "Not only that, but Carter is absolutely amazing at gift giving and I'm. . .not."
"Don't say that, Doux. I'm sure Carter loves anything you give him." Claire said, placing her hand on Douxie's shoulder for comfort. "It's the thought that counts."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Douxie smiled. "Thanks, Claire."
"That's what friends are for." Claire said with a nod. "Now come on, I'll help you figure out the perfect gift for Carter."
"Oh, you don't have to do that." Douxie said with a slight chuckle. "You're a great friend but I think I can do this on my own."
"Hm, no, I already know what I'm getting Jim So I'm gonna help you." Claire said seriously. "Now come on, let's go shopping!"
With that said, Claire grabbed Douxie by the arm and pulled him around the mall. Meanwhile, Jim and Carter had just walked out of a jewelry store and Jim was carrying a bag with a small box inside it.
"Well that was easy." Jim said with a smile holding up the bag. "Claire's done, what about Douxie? What are you going to get for him?"
"Well, I'm not so sure yet?" Carter said honestly. "But I'm sure I'll see something. . .OH MY GODS what is that?!"
Jim just looked confused as he looked in the direction that Carter was pointing and saw a giant cat plushie with a witch hat on its head.
"Holy shit! I'm getting this for Douxie!" Carter said as he ran up to the plushie and hugged it while Jim followed behind. "It's a ridiculously large cat plushie! He'd love it!"
"Carter, it's taller than you." Jim pointed out. "How are you going to get it in the car without him noticing?"
"Easy, call Claire and have her bring some troll buddies." Carter said as he tried to pick up the large plush. "We're taking this bad boy through the shadow realm."
Back with Douxie and Claire they were still looking around the stores but so far Douxie couldn't find anything. "Ugh this is hopeless, nothing seems good enough for him." Doixie groaned.
"Doux, I know we'll find something." Claire said trying to comfort her teacher/brother figure. "Don't stress about it too much, Christmas is supposed to be a joyful time."
"Easy for you to say, you and Jim haven't spent eighty Christmas' together." Douxie sighed as he sat down on a bench at the food court and placed his face in his hands.
Claire opened her mouth as if to say something only for her phone to suddenly went off. "It's a text from Jim." She said before reading the text as a huge smile spread across her face. "Uh, I'll be back, the guys need me to help them with something."
"Go ahead, I'll meet you guys at the house." Douxie said with a forced smile. Once she was gone, Douxie sighed with disappointment. "Man, I don't deserve a man like Carter." He said to himself. "He's always so wonderful and picks out the perfect gifts for any occasion and I'm clueless."
At that moment, Douxie suddenly saw a flower stand and noticed a lilly and sunflower bouquet. This made his eyes light up as he remembered those were both his an his fiance's favorite flowers.
So, without a moments more hesitation, Douxie picked them out, bought them, and started to make his way to the entrance of the building. Luckily, he had called Claire before this to let her know that he was done so she was right outside when he was.
"You know we could've taken a care or walked right?" Claire asked, sounding exchusted from all the magic usage in a single day. "I'm nearly spent."
"Sorry, just on more portal trip home." Douxie said honestly before showing Claire the flowers. "I've finally found something."
"Aww, Doux, he's going to love these." Claire said honestly. "Just as much as you're going to love his gift to you."
"I hope so, he better not have done something super crazy and extravagant." Douxie said with a little bit of worry in his eyes. "It'd make me feel bad. Plus, going over the top is my thing for Valentine's day."
Claire just smiled as she rolled her eyes and created a portal for them to go through. Once they were back at Jim's house, Douxie had realized that Claire had led them to the front door rather than actually in the house. "Uh, Claire? What's going on?"
"Well, your present was a little too big to wrap and you were just going to open it anyway so this was the best option." Claire explained as she opened the door and gestureed for Douxie to go inside.
Confused, Douxie walked in and immediately saw Carter snuggled against a giant witch cat plushie. "Merry Christmas, baby!" Carter shouted as he ran up to give Douxie a bear hug.
"Wow, that's amazing." Douxie said with a small laugh, which Carter loved. "It's adorable, cariad. I love it, but you really didn't have to go that crazy. Especially when all I got you were these."
Douxie handed the blonde haired boy the flowers and Carter blushed at the gift. "Douxie, this is so sweet. Our favorite flowers too?"
"Yeah, I'm sorry it's not much but. . ." Douxie started to say before being interrupted by Carter's lips on his. A little caught off guard at first but Douxie quickly got right into it and kissed him back.
Once they broke the kiss, Carter looked up into Douxie's eyes. "Baby, it doesn't matter what you get me for Christmas or how much money you put into it." He smiled. "Just you being here is enough for me."
At that cue, music started to play and Carter began to sing.
Carter: "I don't want a
lot for Christmas,

I don't care about the presents
underneath the Christmas tree.

Douxie couldn't help but smile before joining in the song as well.
Douxie: "I don't want a lot for Christmas,

Don't care about those
presents underneath
the Christmas tree.
I don't need to hang my
stocking there upon the fireplace.

me happy with a toy
on Christmas day,

Carter & Douxie: "All I want for

Carter: "Ooh, baby.

Douxie: "I won't make a list
and send it to the
North Pole for St. Nick.
I won't even stay up late to hear those magical reindeers click."

Douxie: "What more can I do?"
Carter & Douxie: "All I want for
Christmas is you!"
Carter: "Wow, all the lights are
shining so brightly everywhere,
and the sound of children's
laughter fills the air,
and everyone is singing!"
Douxie: "I hear those sleigh bells ringing...
Santa won't you bring

Carter: "Oh, I don't want a lot for Christmas,

The couple brought each other in for another kiss before everyone else started the gift swapping. This was a pretty magical night for everyone.
