Work Text:
It's a week before Christmas, everything was abuzz. Frank thankfully was able to get away from his mafia duties, daughter and soon to be son in law for a bit. He's sitting by the fireplace, waiting for the milk to get hot enough to add hot cocoa. Relaxing by the flame he listens to the crackling of the fire. This is all good, until Daisy barges in. “Daisy, what are you doing?”
“Frank! Could I borrow some money?”
“No? Why?”
“I saw some really good looking cookies! But when I asked Etho, he said ‘Sorry, no. You've spent way too much money lately Daisy! It's Christmas now, and you are officially on a budget’!” Daisy complains.
Frank rolls his eyes, “No, I won't just throw away my money to help you buy some stupid cookies.”
“Aw…. Please?” Daisy pouts
Frank answers firmly, “No.”
“Okay… I suppose I can go ask Finn now…” Daisy turns to walk away. Frank panics slightly.
Frank adjusts his statement, not wanting to have Finn be favoured over him, “No, I won't help you buy cookies, but I'll help you make them!”
Daisy turns back around and her eyes light up, “Would you really?”
Frank smiles, “ As long as I get to have a few!”
“Can we now?” Daisy asks excitedly, bouncing on her heels.
Frank shrugs, "Well, I guess why not?”
Daisy squeals and runs to the kitchen. Frank stands up, stretches and follows her. “What cookies do you want to make Daisy?
“Hmm… I don't know…” Daisy drawls out, unsure.
Frank says “Well, I think I have a few cookbooks in the cabinet down there, you can look through them”
“Okay!” Daisy rushes and pulls out a bunch of cookbooks.
She flips through all of the books, but she eventually finds a recipe she likes. She rushes over to Frank with the recipe book in hand and a big smile. “I found one I like!”, she exclaims.
Frank sees the cookbook, which had been Fiona’s, “That was Fiona’s cookbook. She put all of her favorite recipes in it… I haven't used it since.” He thought.
“This is a peppermint sugar cookie recipe!”
“I… didn't say that. We can make it! I can get the ingredients, and you… find the hot pads!” Frank
“Okay!”
…
“Daisy, where did you even find these hats?” Frank asks as Daisy forcefully makes him bend down and puts a Santa hat on top of his head.
“I got from them Etho!”
“it looks ridiculous on me.”
“No! You look just like Santa!”
“I don't have a beard.”
“Well you look his age!”
“Do you want me to make these cookies with you daisy?”
“Yes!”
“Then don't call me old”
“Okay…”
……..
Frank and Daisy make the cookies. Daisy obnoxiously hops around the kitchen. The smell of peppermint cookies and hot cocoa fill the air. The timer rings and Frank forces Daisy out of the kitchen so he can take the cookies out of the oven without burning the hyperactive moobloom.
Frank lets the cookies cool for a few minutes and pours hot cocoa. Daisy skips into the kitchen, “Can I have cookies now?” She asks.
“Go have a seat, I'll bring it out for us!” Frank replies.
Daisy runs to the living excited, and Frank brings out a big plate of cookies and two mugs of hot cocoa. Frank sits back down in his chair, eats cookies, drinks cocoa and talks with Daisy.
