Happy Birthday

Summary:

Bunny Iglesias was smiling, and it actually reached his eyes.

The devil of a man stood in front of him looked so stunning, so breathtaking, Michael felt himself slipping. He'd been slipping for a while, sure, but… At the rate things were going, he'd be fully submerged beneath before the night ended.

Notes:

Work Text:

"What the hell are you doing here?" Michael bit out, eyebrow raised in annoyance as he stared at the taller man outside his door. He had his hands behind his back, and Michael could tell he was hiding something, but what?

Bunny just chuckled, nudging his way inside Michael's apartment. "What, not happy to see me, cariño?"

Michael scoffed, refusing to look at Bunny as he accepted his fate and locked the door behind him. Whenever Bunny came over, it was always to torture Michael in some way. And yet Michael loved it.

Pathetic.

"What do you want, you dumb rabbit?" He tried to be more aggressive with his words, his attitude, hoping it'd inspire Bunny to just spit it out, or do whatever he had come over to do to Michael.

A soft press of lips against his forehead had Michael stuttering and cheeks flushing, shoving the ruby eyed bastard away with less force than he would have, had he been anyone else in this world. Damn Bunny Iglesias and how easily he disarmed him.

"Wh—You! The fuck are you doing?"

Before Michael could close his hands into fists to beat on Bunny's chest, a beautiful vase of flowers—roses—was shoved into his hands. What?

Dumbfounded, sapphire eyes flickered between the beautiful selection of roses and the hypnotizing ruby of Bunny's gaze.

Slowly, gently so as to not damage the display, Michael set the vase down on the end table he usually tossed his keys on. And as soon as his hands were free, Bunny shoved something else into them.

A wrapped present? It looked like there was a lot of care put into wrapping it, too.

What was Bunny up to?

Michael looked at Bunny in confusion, but relented and began carefully unwrapping the present when Bunny just continued to smile unblinkingly at him.

Michael's hand brushed across soft fabric. He gaped as he pulled it free from the box: A beautiful dress, with thin straps to keep it up, a very low cut v, while the hem fell just above his knees…

Of course. Of course Bunny would get him a sexy dress the exact shade of his own eyes. He knew Michael looked good in red, and Michael knew Bunny loved seeing him draped in his color.

Tch. Horny bastard.

There was more, too. Sheer black tights, black strappy heels that would be a bitch to walk in, and a lovely ruby necklace.

It almost felt like he was trying to stake claim on Michael.

Michael should have been upset about that. Should have.

He wasn't.

No, instead of yelling or throwing them back at Bunny, instead of throwing him out—because if Michael truly wanted Bunny gone, Bunny would actually go—he stood there wordlessly as Bunny stripped him of his loose sweats.

He stood still, letting himself get draped in the perfect red fabric, one of the many pairs of panties Bunny had gotten for him prior—that Michael did yell at him about, even though he ended up keeping them—helped Bunny slide the sheer tights up his lithe legs, and stepped into the strappy heels.

So completely, utterly, pathetic. For a man. Eugh.

He turned around so the dumb rabbit could secure the necklace, the pendant of rubies sitting just below his collarbone, not too high it felt suffocating, not too low it swung around a ton.

He glanced at himself in the mirror, and wow. They looked… Perfect. Together. Like they belonged, for once in their lives.

"Happy birthday, mi alma."

Michael was absolutely done for. Because for the first time, he really was having a happy birthday. All because the dumb rabbit… Well.

Thoughts for another time, he supposed.

Bunny got them reservations for dinner, because he 'wanted to show Michael off'.

Cute.
