Summary:

Day 26: Embarrassment

It’s okay. Everyone has accidents sometimes.
Johnny tried to reassure himself. But this was different. After all, not everyone had wet their pants on television.

He’d always been the most confident, unbothered dude. The ladies loved him, and he loved them. He had so much rizz. But ever since the incident, he’d gone from heartthrob to laughingstock overnight. He no longer liked being hounded everywhere he went. These people weren’t his fans. They were bullies.

After an argument with his family, Johnny wandered the streets and found himself at a diner in a part of town that he didn’t usually go to.

Hopefully nobody recognizes me. Well, they shouldn’t recognize me.
After all, he was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, just like all Marvel characters typically did when they wanted to disguise themselves. It was foolproof!

Soon, he was greeted by an attractive young waitress who stared at him a bit too intensely, and he worried that she might have recognized him. Then, she gave him a look of pity, asking him if he was eating alone.

Of course I’m alone! What does it look like? Do you see anyone else with me?

Johnny bit his tongue and remembered one of his favorite quotes.

“A sour mood is no excuse to be rude.”
- Sue Storm

Just kidding. She never said that.

Johnny wasn’t sure whether the waitress recognized him, but she semeed really nice. Even when it came time to pay and he handed over his credit card with his name on it, she didn’t raise an eyebrow.

“Hope to see you again soon!”

“Well, then how about we keep in touch?” The words slipped out before he could stop himself.

“Really?”

“Yeah!” Johnny wrote his phone number down on a napkin and slid it over to her.

They texted a lot, and got seemed to get along well. Johnny’s humiliating accident was never mentioned, and they had their first date later that week.

“I’ve gotta go pick her up now,” he said, preparing to head out the door.

“So, where are you two going?” Ben asked. “Chili’s?”

“Shut up!”

When Johnny arrived at his date’s house, they greeted and complimented each other.

Right before they left, she suddenly stopped in her tracks.
“Wait! One more thing!”

“Uh… what?” Johnny’s heart pounded as he noticed her smirk.

“Make sure to go potty first!”

Their relationship didn’t last very long.
