A cover of Heimerdinger's song in Chapter 16 of Before Your Sun Sets by WhiteButterfly.

After Jayce and Viktor recover from a case of Hanahaki Disease, Heimerdinger dedicates a song to them.

From the fic:

Professor Heimerdinger plucked at his handmade banjo’s strings, causing a few discordant notes to scatter in the air. Once his banjo was tuned, he blew a few times into the harmonica strapped around his neck, did a few, strange vocal exercises no human being could ever hope to emulate without some sort of hextech vocal cords, then cleared his throat.

“I dedicate this song,” he said, his voice full of fatherly pride, “to my two former pupils, who also happen to be two of my closest friends.”

Notes:

I am wholly enamoured by this fic; reading this scene, I found myself wanting to put some music to it and, well. Here that is.

Off -topic: I listened to some banjo country music on youtube for inspiration, which triggered a change to the google adsense algorithm in my house, which triggered targeted advertising for custom skull-painted banjos aimed at my partner who has never played a banjo in his life, but now desperately wants one. If we end up obtaining one, I might re-record this song with a banjo, as originally intended.
