Work Text:

Kaveh had logged into Stardew Valley in his free time once again.

Except this time he asked Alhaitham to join him.

Kaveh was explaining the basics to this game, and then mentioned the romanceable characters.

“Do you have to?”

“No, but it’s fun. You can even do marriage.”

“So I can marry anyone? Even you?”

“Yeah, but then you don’t have the fun interactions with the npc's, and learn new things about them even after marriage.”

Then Kaveh started to explain what gaining friendship does with each other briefly, although Alhaitham wasn't fully paying attention.

Alhaitham’s words went over Kaveh's head, but it had given him an idea regardless.

The next day Alhaitham had asked him.

“Who are you going for?”

“I'm going after Sebastian.”

“Why is that?”

“He's most like you. Rather spend time alone, or only with certain people. He's blunt, and he's attractive.”

“I see.”

“Jealous?”

“No.”

“Then who are you going for?”

“You'll see.”

Kaveh gave him a questioning look before they continued on.

He hoped Kaveh hadn't suspected anything.

It was close to nine thirty when Alhaitham looked at the clock.

“We should head to bed soon.” He spoke first.

“But it's only nine am.”

“I mean in real life.”

Kaveh glanced at the clock.

“Oh, you're right, but we both have off tomorrow. So we can sleep a little later.”

“It’s not good to sleep late.’

Kaveh sighed.

“After this day we'll save.”

“Sounds good.”

Alhaitham didn’t want to wait, and hoped what he ordered would arrive tomorrow.

Which, thankfully for him, it had.

He had snuck into the shelf in his desk, and then went to wake Kaveh up.

He promised they could play for a few hours after they had showered, and eaten.

Kaveh kissed him before they sat down at their own desks.

“I can’t believe we’ve already spent a long time in this game together already.”

“I can’t either. It’s been fun.”

“Can I now ask who you’re proposing to now?”

“I plan to later on in the day. I want to make sure you’re there.”

“Strange, but if you say so.”

As they kept playing, Alhaitham made sure Kaveh wouldn’t look at his desk as he pulled out the Mermaid’s Pendant.

Then it turned into the next day of the game, Alhaitham told him to meet him in the town square at ten am.

Kaveh was confused, but agreed anyway.

Then Alhaitham went up to his character, asking his character to marry him.

“Huh? What’s this?”

“Don’t you remember what this is for?”

“Yes, but. . me?”

“Turn around.”

Kaveh swiveled his chair around to see Al haitham on one knee, and the mermaid pendant in his hand.

“Will you marry me Kaveh?”

“Wait. . are you serious?”

“I’m still waiting for your ring to arrive.”

“Gods, you’re such a nerd.”

“Just for you. What do you say?”

Kaveh brought his hands to Alhaitham’s cheeks, bringing him into a kiss.

“Yes. Gods, yes Haithoomi.”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”
