Chapter Text

Sophia and Lara, the pair has been together for a year and a half and went public last year.

Surprisingly the fans were extremely supportive. They loved that the members were happy and they especially loved that the vocal duo was together.

In prep for lolla the girls have been working their asses off in rehearsals. Staying over, sweating through clothes, losing patience, but through all of it Sophia didn’t let up.

“Yoonche you’re late on the turn in gnarly, Dani chill with the twerking, we get it. Lara and megan your rushing in Gameboy, Manon look happier in touch. Do you guys even realize that lolla is in a month? We need to have this down.” Sophia commanded, SoHey had left Sophia in charge so he could go pick up grant from the airport.

“We get it but it would be a lot easier if you actually gave us a break to retain your comments.” Manon urged trying to get a Sophia to give them a break. It had been four hours non stop.

“After this next run.” Sophia answered the girls moaned. Dani gave Lara a not so subtle shove wanting her to distract her tryant of a girlfriend.

Slowly Lara made her way behind Sophia gently snaking her arms around the girls waist.

“Baby…” Lara dragged out only speaking for Sophia to hear. “What’s got you so wound up? You’ve never been like this.” Sophia didn’t break, not yet.

“I don’t know Lara maybe because we have a show is less than a month and nobody seems to care.” She said loud enough for all the girls to hear.

“That’s not true Sophia.”Megan said speaking up for the girls. Sophia looked at her sharply in the mirror. Lara sensing the growing tension made her arms firmer against Sophia’s body.

“Look at me baby.” Lara said, she waited until Sophia’s gaze caught hers in their reflection. Lara pressed a soft kiss to Sophia’s neck. “ You know we care just as much as you do. But we also need to take care of ourselves, at this rate we’ll burn out babe. Trust us, we can handle this.” Lara said into her neck, still pressing kisses every so often.

“I don’t know, we’re almost done.” Sophia. Was cut off by Lara’s finger on her lips. “We have enough time to take a
Break then run everything, we haven’t even touched M.I.A. But before that we need a break ” Lara said.

The room went quiet as Sophia looked around using the mirror. Manon against the mirror chest rising dangerously. Yoonche on the floor, Megan face first on the ground next to her, Dani was standing trying her best to hold it together. Even Lara was somewhat slumped against her back.

“Take 15.” Sophia said, the girls didn’t cheer instead exhaling weak thank yous.

Sophia turned around to meet Lara face to face. She took a moment to see how burned out she was. Legs wobbly, hands shaking unless they had something to grab, eyes barely staying open.

“I’m sorry babe. I was an asshole today.” Sophia said lifting her hand to Lara’s jaw.

“Yeah, you kinda were.” Lara said laughing a bit.

Sophia lead her to a corner of the giant studio and first sat on the floor allowing Lara to rest her head on her lap.

The next 15 minutes thankfully went by slow. Sophia had her hands laced in Lara’s hair gently soothing the hair and bruising it with her fingers. Lara’s hair was so soft and healthy. Maybe because of her Indian heritage and the fact that she stays oiling her hair every other day. But Sophia loves it.

Slowly time crept up on them once more. The 15 minutes was up. She woke Lara up first gently kissing her awake. First on the forehead, then the cheek, nose, ear, neck, and finally the lips.

“I love waking up to that baby.” Lara said with a blissful smile. She didn’t get up not yet. Instead she slid in between my legs resting her back against my chest. I pulled my arms over her keeping her trapped with me.

One by one the girls woke up. Sophia wanted them to get all the rest they needed. First was Manon then Yoonch, Dani and lastly Megan.

The space that had once only had Sophia and Lara now had all the girls around them.

“I say we start with M.I.A then we run the show,” Manon suggested, a part of Sophia hates M.I.A with a passion.

Not because the song is bad or the dancing is hard but mostly because of the ending. Manon had the brilliant idea to do a special dance with Lara at the end.

And look, Sophia is a confident person, she knows she’s attractive and she trust Lara but everyone knows that Manon and Lara use to date. It was serious too, halfway through dream academy and most of SIS they were dating

Once Sophia and Lara got together Manon backed off she even went to Sophia herself and told her out of respect for their friendship she would let Lara go for good.

And Sophia believes her, at least she told herself she did. The day Manon brought it up Sophia was skeptical but she wanted Lara to still be her own member and be known for things outside of their relationship. So she went along with it.

That was until she saw it, the dance was hot, sexy, something that looked private as if you were walking in on something you weren’t supposed to see.

All the girls knew Lara had a dick. She told them after dream academy.

Seeing Manon of all people grind on her girlfriend’s dick just always put Sophia in a bad mood even if they had all the trust in the world.

The opening notes to M.I.A filled the room as formations were set. Sophia was looking, searching for anything to stop and go again. Anything to put off Manon and Lara’s ‘special moment’.

That break did wonders to the girls, everyone was doing good. Hitting marks working well thinking about the group first.

When the moment came it felt like slow motion for Sophia. All she could do we watch. Lara thinking nothing of it allowed her hands to go even lower down Manons body to which the girl giggled. Sophia’s stare could have easily burned a hole through the wall as Lara and Manon turned to face each other, eyes locked like no one else in the world mattered.

Monon took Lara’s shoulder and signaled for them to go down to the floor. That’s when things really got heated. Manon decided to get on Lara’s lap and continue singing from there. Sophia allowed herself one glance.

Her picture, Lara and Manon on the ground Manon directly on top of Lara (where Sophia should have been) and the two engaged in a staring contest.

As soon as the music ended Lara immediately looked up at Sophia with a proud look.

“Did you see that babe! No mistakes we just ran through it.” Lara said getting up moving towards her girlfriend.

“Oh yeah, I saw, it was good I’m really proud of you girls.” Sophia said. Something about her tone made Lara pause. It wasn’t noticeable to them but Lara knew everything about Sophia, every smile, fake, real, sad, she knew them all.

She could tell something was wrong.

“Actually. Today’s been long, why don’t we all just head out early. I’m really happy with today’s work.” Sophia said ignoring Lara completely as she started gathering her things.

Lara more confused than ever just followed behind her quietly gathering her things as well.

The car ride back to the Katseye house was quiet. It was usually filled with witty banter back and forth between members, but something was off. Sophia was upset, not angry or sad, just off. And everyone felt it.

Walking into the house Sophia and Lara entered first. “You wanna watch a movie?” Lara asked timidly.

“No I have to make dinner.” Sophia said looking for an excuse.

“I can help you if you want-“ Lara didn’t even get a chance to finish before Sophia cut her off.

“I’m good.” She said shortly. This made the other girls pause too. Sophia NEVER passed up an opportunity to cook with Lara. Like never.

“Oh, alright babe.” Lara said sadly making her way up the steps to their bedroom.

The other girls had quietly filled in taking shoes off, dropping bags, hanging coats and jackets but they were also mindful of the situation going on between Sophia and Lara. Dani gave a look that all the girls could understand. A “Meet me upstairs so we can talk about this” look

Sophia felt like she was suffocating as she cooked dinner for six. She didn’t know why she just pushed Lara away when all she wants to do is hold her. As she seasoned the chicken her thoughts raced.

“Are you okay Soph?” Yoonche asked. Sophia looked up slightly from the pan that was scolding hot and unforgiving.

“I’m fine Yoonche. Thanks for the concern but I just need to finish dinner. So please just leave me alone.” Sophia said trying her best to sound normal but it actually came off as dismissive.

Yoonche left without a word. She wasn’t angry but when it came to Sophia Yoonche couldn’t handle rejection.

“ what the fuck is wrong with me.” Sophia whispered.

Sophia POV

I hate this.

I hate feeling like I’m angry without a reason.

I love Lara that’s not the problem, the problem is that I can’t see her and Manon near each other without wondering if she still has feelings for her.

As if on Que Lara walked in again. Her clothes now changed into something more comfortable her hair let down and flowing and her black glasses I’d usually steal from her.

Her arms hooked around my waist. And she leaned into my back. God this feels so good, so right. I just want her to stay on me like this forever.

“I don’t know what I did.” She started. “But I know it hurt you, and I never want to hurt you Sophia.” Lara said genuinely.

My heart fractured. Her tone was so loving but also hurt in a way I couldn’t put into words.

“My love, can we talk about this later? I promise I’m not mad at you but I can’t talk about this at this exact moment.” I told her.

I turned around to meet her gaze, she nodded her head and I brought my hands up to cradle her face.

“I love you SoSo.” Lara’s coice came out small.

“I love you too Laru. You’re not the problem.” I whispered, she bit her lip.

I don’t know if I’m jealous, angry, scared or maybe my period is about to start but I know one thing for sure I need to talk to Manon. Because whatever I’m feeling isn’t directed at Lara. No, it’s directed at her ex.
