"But father how can you randomly assign her a maid? Won't this cause for more suspicions to rise about her..."
Ijekiel paused when he he heard his father sighing and finally talking—
"I do not think it is a big matter. After the drowning situation I am growing more and more concerned each day...you know we can't afford to lose her and I think a new maid who just joined though inexperienced seems to be the in the same age group. It will do good of her to make atleast one friend. "
Ijekiel didn't further say anything and left his father's study.
It had started 3 days ago when the Emperor and the young girl residing in the Alpheus house went out for a boat ride where the lady almost drowned.
Since then Jennette has not been called to the Palace anymore. She sits in her room all day playing family with the dolls. Wishing that one day she would achieve it herself . She will,by trying to get into a small gap,not a big one , just a small gap between the princess and the emperor. She would be regarded as a daughter and a sister.
She takes the well made hand crocheted doll of Claude — the emperor and Athanasia — the princess and places a piece of wood ,with her name written on it in cursive , in middle of both the dolls.
As if a weird phenomenon had occurred which always kept her at a distance from her possible sister and father . No matter how close she tried to get into the small gap and truly tried to belong to one as a family she wouldn't be able to.
One might ask.
What about Duke Alpheus and his son ?
Duke Alpheus was more of a benefactor to her than one who would see her as a family. Her sole purpose was to get her father , the emperor, accept her as his daughter. Until then , her place of stay was the Alpheus manor.
Jennette kept the previous dolls in their places on the shelf. Her eyes caught another well made doll on the shelf.
And she took it off the shelf.

One might ask why this young lady just couldn't mix with the immediate same aged person in the mansion — the duke's son .
Both of them know that at one point of time when Emperor Claude finally accepts the girl as his legitimate daughter , they would be engaged and finally married off.
Or atleast that is what the original plan of Duke Alpheus was until she showed up.
She is Athanasia Alger de Obelia — the princess.
But it wasn't the fact that now he had to probably find a way for his son to marry the princess ; afterall Jennette will become a princess too one day ! Marrying him to Jennette will be the same!
Just one problem occurred.
Ijekiel seemed to never be friendly enough with Jennette as he was with Athanasia. It was obvious who he harbored deep affection for. One might be even astonished to know how little the Duke's son and the young lady residing in the Alpheus manor knew about eachother.
Jennette looked at the doll in her hands .
Can we really not be together...but I tried my best to be with you...
Not long after the drowning incident , the silver haired boy had rejected Jennette himself. All her efforts of trying to build a good relationship with others seemed to always go to waste. Except the princess maybe...
But she still wanted to fulfill her dream of having a family and finding a place in this world.
