Shen Qingqiu parries the monster’s attack and glances down at himself. Sure enough, he didn’t manage to dodge the Blossom of True Form. Badly named, as usual, because what it does is swap your gender and then return you to your true form after a couple days. But whatever. The point is, he is now a she.
She doesn’t let it distract her from defeating the monster. It’s a pretty cool one, but since it’s attacking her, unfortunately she does need to fight back. In no time at all, she’s wounded it and escaped on her sword with the sample she came here to collect.
"Binghe," she calls, stepping off her sword and strolling toward the bamboo house. "I’m home."
Luo Binghe comes hurrying out, presumably wondering why her voice sounds so strange. He stops short when he sees her.
"Just the Blossom of True Form," Shen Qingqiu sighs. "It’ll fade by next week."
It does not fade by next week.
Luo Binghe is strangely obsessed with it. (Shen Qingqiu doesn’t think it’s that big a deal! It’s one of the more tame wife plots. At least she’s not being tied up half-naked by plant tentacles, like last month.)
At first, Luo Binghe makes a point of referring to her as his husband, but that weirds Shen Qingqiu out. She’s not anyone’s husband at the moment! Did she bend Luo Binghe so hard that he can’t handle having a wife for a couple days?!
Then, after Shen Qingqiu gives him a weird look a couple times for doing this, and after a few days have passed, he gets a knowing look in his eyes and starts to be normal about it, referring to Shen Qingqiu as his wife. That should be exactly what Shen Qingqiu wants, but she suspects Luo Binghe has come to some conclusion that is wildly off base. Whatever, at least he’s not calling her his husband anymore. Save that for when she turns back!
Maybe she misremembered and this thing takes two months to fade…
