"BLEHHHH!" Shadow milk yelped, wearing a big round bear mask. Mystic flour stared blankly as usual, not even a bit startled. This was another failed attempt on trying to get Mystic flour to laugh. Nothing seemed to work on her and it was getting annoying. Yet shadow milk finds himself consistently falling into this cycle of getting in and out of the phase of trying to amuse Mystic flour.
"Ugh! Why must you be so boring? " he greeted ripping the bear mask to shreds. "Maybe it is not that I am boring, but that you are simply not amusing." Mystic flour answered in her usual calm demeanor. Shadow milk softly growled. He knows that despite her monotone she was teasing him. He hated being teased, especially from the walk of apathy herself! "I will get you to laugh Mystic flour! No matter what it takes. " he declared proudly and zoomed out of the room.
Shadow milk floated to a room within their HQ, his personal planing room. He looked around at all the small papers attached to red string. Majority of them was a drawing of Mystic flour of them, each varying in skill. Shadow milk took one down that had showed him as a bear. He growled again and took all of the papers off.
"I will never be ready for comedy night..." Shadow milk groaned. Every Saturday he hosts a comedy night, and forces all the other beast to join--other than silent salt of course. These nights are usually what fuels his desire to get Mystic flour to laugh, she never laughs during his comedy night. He assumed that if he find a random joke that manages to get even the slightest of a rise out of Mystic flour, he could add it to his script and abuse the hell out of it!
He tapped a pen to his chin. It felt like he tried everything already, dad jokes, uncle jokes, potty humor, shock humor, dark jokes, puns, literal humor. Nothing worked, or at least, hadn't noticeably worked. Either she really doesn't have any humor or her apathetic mask is just too good. He fell to the floor, only a day left, then he would have to host the comedy night without the joke. He decided to nap on it as all this stress was melting his hair.
He curled up into a corner and pulled a blanket over himself. He forced himself to think of laughter all kinds of it, to try and inspire a dream of laughter and potential ideas.
Shadow milk is awake and more curious then ever. Thinking about all that laughter before bed had earned a embarrassing dream, but also a dream that brought ideas. Now he found himself trying and failing to sneak up on Mystic flour and touch her.
"What has been bothering you now? Why do you suddenly feel so antsy as to place your hands on me?" Mystic flour asked calmly, with a hint of annoyance in her voice. Shadow milk shrugged. "Just wanted to see something. Please, just let me poke ya a few times. It won't hurt! " Shadow Milk softly whined. Mystic flour rolled her eyes. "But why?" She asked again. "Cause I'm testing something!Don't tell me your afriad of a little ti- poking! " He whined again. Mystic flour raised a single brow, "what was that?". Shadow milk squeaked, "Ah! Nothing!! But seriously, just let me poke you a little~!" Shadow milk giggled. Mystic flour stared at him with her usual blank face. Clearly contemplating her choices. After a few minutes she mutters, "5 minutes". Shadow milk beam. "That's all the time I need!" He exclaimed.
He started to poke and wiggle his finger at random areas, mystic flour watched quietly. He would poke her stomach, her sides, her hips, her waist. Shadow milk was starting to loose faith until he felt her rib area. A subtle and quick shift took place before it went away and she was back to being as apathetic as ever. But shadow milk noticed it. A sudden shiver, a flinch away from the touch, the quiet grunt. It was all shadow milk needed. "Ah, I think I got what I needed, now I need to go to eternal sugar to test the same thing! " He lied, in hopes to drive away any suspicion from Mystic flour. He flew off, before Mystic could respond. Time to change the script!!
It was Comedy night!! Already an hour in. There was many cookies in the stands, majority his own illusionary powers, the rest, the beast and his assistants. He had already told a few long jokes and manage to earn a few giggle fits from Eternal sugar cookie and Burning spice cookie, many cackles from Candy apple cookie, and a few chuckles from Black Sapphire cookie. But as expected, nothing from Mystic flour. But this Comedy show is different. He WILL get mystic flour to laugh, even if it wasn't from a joke.
He brings out a few more jokes before executing his plan, referring to mystic flour little by little as if to foreshadow his plan. "Wow, Mystic, quiet as ever hmm? Well I'm sure you just need a helping hand or two!" He laughed. Eternal sugar and burning spice looked over confused. Candy apple and Black sapphire snicker as they new something was up, but haven't exactly been let on on what was going to happen tonight.
Shadow milk started a small commission, allowing candy apple to take on the stage with her own dark humor. Shadow milk floated near the curtains and snaps his fingers. He watched as two large, thick, dark blue hands reached from under the ground near Mystic flour. Mystic flour Sat bored and unassuming. The hands stretched and lunged in. Shadow milk grinned as he watched the scene unfold. The hands were scratching and poking at noth of Mystic flours ribs. She jumped in surprised and started to tremble. She hunched her shoulders as she struggles not to squirm. Giggles start to spill out as she sat on that bench.
It was, actually quite the adorable sight. It's been so long since he had heard her laugh, her giggles were a bit quirky; being squeaky and loud like a dried up hose. it was still nice, nostalgic, even. As her giggles phase out for a moment in his mind, they came back, but its different.
Sweet sugar cookie was giggling along with her, and Red spice was chuckling. "You're so funny, blue!" Sweet sugar squeaks, holding a hand to her mouth. The salt of solidarity shook his head, but let a small chuckle escape. "Friends, we must not get distracted. " he sighed. Red spice patted his back, "don't worry about it salty, we can have a laugh once in a few lifetimes! ". Blue milk cookie laughed, loving to see his friends so amused. He loves making others with his jokes. He always gets told he has the best jokes, and he knows why. It was his knowledge, much knowledge makes pretty funny puns! "Speaking of frogs, if it bothers you so much, salty, you can just leap! " He responds, causing another large wave of laughter. White flour cookie continued to let out her squeaky giggles, snorts slipping here and there. He couldn't help but giggle along as well.
Shadow milk blinks and he was back at the comedy night show. Eternal sugar and Burning spice were both distracted by candy apples grim and possibly problematic jokes. But mystic flour was giggling louder now, even her signature snorts came out to play. Shadow milk smiled, but not out of malice, or pettiness, or even out of satisfaction for his plan succeeding. He was genuinly happy to hear one of his friends laughing again, and the memory it brought. Although he was still disappointed it was because of tickling and not one of his jokes. He was still well determined to find a joke that makes mystic flour at least flinch a little. But for tonight, the tickling will do.
He quickly pushed aside candy apple and was ready to continue the night. For once he could hear mystic flour's laughter fill the theater along with the others though they didn't seem to notice. His jokes comes out more genuine and his voice softens for the rest of the night.
At 9:00 Pm, the comedy night is finally over. The hands disappear, abd mystic flour breaths softly. Catching her breath from the giggles. As everyone started to make there way out, shadow milk approached Mystic flour.
"You seemed to have enjoyed tonight for the first time ever huh? I suppose you really did need that helping hand." He cooed. Mystic flour glared at him. For a moment she didn't say anything, then muttered, "if anyone were to find out about this, this theater will become nothing but ash. " she threatened calmly. Shadow chuckled, "Oh please! How could I possibly stay quiet when I find out the beast of apathy herself is ticklish! "He teased. Mystic flour rolled her eyes. "I'm just messing with ya, it'll be between you and me! Honest..." he reassured her. "And honestly..thank you.." he whispered softly. Mystic flour was confused by his thanks but nods and leaves. As shadow milk floats their alone, a bit confuzzled on his feelings. He realized Mystic flour could've just moved away from the hands as he wasn't paying too much attention to her and there was room next to her. He wondered why she hadn't even attempted to stop the tickling. Perhaps she hadn't exactly hated it like he assumed.
