Work Text:
It had been Pansy's second year at Hogwarts. She was friends with Draco which made her secure. She knew he would never look an eye in her direction if they hadn't been betrothed. So she stuck around trying not to loose her only security in Hogwarts and her life after it.
It was Percy's 6th year at Hogwarts. He was a perfect for second year, and will be graduating in a year, then he will work for the ministry. He would finally get out of the misserable poor life he was living. The ministry will pay him good. He would move out and maybe find a girlfriend. Penelope Clearwater was his lesbian bestfriend and they pretended to date so she wouldn't be outed.
It was a late night in the halls, where Pansy was roaming, way past curfew. She had one thing on her mind. Death. She was only 13 year old, but she was already headed to the Astronomy tower to end it all. She was well aware how much trouble shed get in if she gets caught. Yet she didnt care.
Percy was just headed back to his common room, after his Perfect duties, when he heard footsteps. He decided to investigate, and came across the small figure of Pansy Parkinson. She was visible distraught enough to not notice him. He called out.
"Miss Parkinson its way past curfew and you should be in bed."
The girl quickly turned around and looked surprised. Her face was red and puffy from crying. She thought how fucked she is in this situation. She knew he would give her detention and tell professor Snape. Who eventually will tell her parents and her life WILL become living hell.
Percy was annoyed with her lack of acknowledgement. He decided to wait a few second to see if shes going to react. She did not. He said once again
"Miss Parkinson i would have to give you detention if you don't go back to you dormitory, right away. Its past curfew."
His words seemed to shock her out of her trans. The black haired girl had a small figure and she looked ever smaller in comparison of him. His 6 feet frame was standing like a statue in front of her short for her age 5'3. She spoke up for the first time.
"You're right i will be get going"
He was hoping for something more like explanation. All the other students would start explaining themselves after being caught. She didn't look like she cared though.
He went to bed that night thinking of his studies.
She went to bed that night thinking about how lucky she was that he saw and stopped her.

It was Pansy's Forth year and she was visiting the National finals for the Quidditch cup. She was attending with her father, mother and the Malfoy family. They were going to spend the night in a tent. She didn't want to help putting it up so she decided to go for a walk. She was walking without paying much attention to her surroundings. She felt herself bump into someone, and fell back on her arse. She looked up and she saw no-one else rather than Percy Weasley. He had grow even more, and he was wearing a suit. it made him look amazingly good-looking for a Weasley. Pansy took his hand and got up.
Percy had gotten free tickets for his entire family for the quidditch world cup. He was happy his family finally got some luxury and he was able to provide them with it. He was going to talk to one of the secretaries from the ministry, when a girl bumped into him. He looked down because she fell from the bump. It was Pansy Parkinson. She had grown more since the last year when he saw her last. Her hair wasn't long and she wore it in a bob cut to her cheekbones. He couldnt help but notice how pretty she is. Offering her a hand to stand up he said
"Good evening miss Parkinson. It was lovely meeting you, if you don't mind i have to go now, and please be more careful with who and where you walk into."
And as he said that he went off. Pansy was confused, she loved how polite he was even though his brothers had always been wankers. She stood there watching after him. Her thoughts going back to that one night after curfew.
He was glad he met her again. He noticed she looked happier and was glad. For him houses didn't really matter. He didn't hold a grudge against her like his brothers. He didn't understand them.
Pansy was back in the tent, that had 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen and living space. It was furnished in a modern black furniture just like the Malfoy Manor. Narcissa loved designing and doing interior design. She sat on the sofa and looked trough some magazines left on the coffee table. Draco called out that its time to go to the Match. She quickly got up and got ready, putting her shoes on and having a last look into the mirror before she opens the tent and got out.
Arthur Weasley had borrowed a tent from a coworker in the ministry. It wasn't the biggest or best designed, but it was enough for everyone. Percy would have bought new one but he wouldn't use it as he rarely went to quidditch matches or went camping. He was drinking tea when his father made them hurry to get to their seats.
When they arrived to their seats, Pansy was surprised to see that the Weasley would be staying in the vip zone of the public. When she sat in her seat she was surprised to see it was next to Percy. She greeted him and sat down next to him. Draco shot some remarks about the Weasley family but it looked like they were having too much fun to acknowledge him.
Percy sat in his seat carefully watching every move in between the two teams. When Viktor Krum caught the snitch his brother Ron cheered like crazy, though Percy realized Bulgaria lost, but Ron was too caught up in the moment to realize. Moments after Krum caught the snitch Pansy shot up in her seat, knocking the butterbeer from her arm rest directly onto Percy's lap. It took her few moments to realize what she had done, and when she did she started apologizing profusely
Pansy started apologizing profusely, and offering to pay for his suit. Normally she wouldn't have done it but, since he was the minister's secretary she knew she shouldn't have trouble with him. He refused her offer of buying him a new suit or paying for cleaning. She was shocked and apologized, many many times afterwards. Her parents told her that if he said its fine she should stop apologizing and that its just butterbeer. But deep down she knew she had something to repay him for the huge favor he did her not even knowing, she felt obligated. Something she has never felt even to her parents.
Percy never thought a Slytherin would kneel for him. Well, not kneel in the literal way but she was so kind, apologetic and sorts of fearful? It had left him startled but he chucked it up to him being an important person in the ministry. It felt kind of good in a way. Percy never got nice things, and was never seen for who he is. It was always about his achievements, and his failures. He once got an Exceeds Expectations instead of Outstanding and his parents forbid him from going to Hogsmeade. His younger brothers never got that treatment. He was always in a challenge against no one to show his parents that he is the best. He wished someone found him the best...
"Miss. Parkinson, please its okay, i promise. You didn't do anything wrong. Mistakes happen." His warm voice reassured her. She felt calmer though, she wanted to say something. She wanted to thank him. The girl didn't even know why she wanted to. She just knew she wanted to.

It was Pansy's seventh year. It was one of the darkest times for Hogwarts. She knew she could not trust anyone. She was well aware why half of her friends decided to not come back for their 7th year. She was well aware why Draco wore long sleeve all summer long. She was well aware of the meetings between the Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs , and Gryffindors. She was aware.
Percy had decided to hide with the order. The chaos in the ministry scared him. He always knew he was a coward. Nothing more. Percy was against his siblings going back to school for their 5th and 6th year. He hoped someone would listen to his opinion just once. They didn't. He knew the danger they are in.
The death of Dumbledore had shaken everybody. It caused disruption. Dumbledore had made everyone feel safe when he was alive. Now they didn't feel safe. Pansy had the privilege of being a Slytherin in one of the hardest times for everyone else. She felt bad for them. She wasn't as bad. Pansy sneaked food for the 1st years in the dungeons. She didn't report whenever she saw people gathering for their secret meetings. She was from the house of the snake but she wasn't one.
Percy was happy when he got news from his sister. All he wanted was for her to be okay. Ginny didn't tell her family much about the secretive meetings happening. In fact she didn't tell them anything about them. Her mail has been being read by the Carrows. Percy wished he had more info on his brother. He knew they ran away. The golden trio. He hated that is brother was apart of it. Nothing he does will change that. He felt powerless.

In the war Pansy had betrayed everyone's hero by making them give Potter to Voldemort. Everyone hated her. Her parents were Death Eaters. She betrayed them by not fighting on the bad side. If they lost she would have been dead, but it was better to be portrayed as someone who fought for the good instead of someone who was straight up evil. In the battle few Gryffindors attacked her and she had to scream at them to tell them she was on their side.
Percy decided to put himself against the ministry. He fought alongside his family. He noticed how Pansy was about to be shot with a death curse and he quickly moved her to the side. They both fell on the floor and Percy got up as fast as possible. He extended his hand to help her get up. As she realized who he is she took his hand as quickly as possible, then kissed him. He was confused
"This is for saving me now" She quickly placed another kiss on his lips "this is for saving me from killing myself in second year" She then quickly disappeared in the fight. Her heart was racing, and she couldnt understand if it was from the adrenaline or because she had just kissed Percy Weasley. She quickly went on to cast a hex towards Marcus Flint. He was quick and disarmed her, when Ginny stunned him.
Percy was fighting against Goyle. He was much smarter and stronger than the younger boy so he had advantage, in just a few seconds goyle was on the cold floor of the entrance of the Great Hall. He felt powerfull, just like a God. He knew what gave fim strength. The kiss.

Pancy was on trial. Even tho she saved many people and fought alongside Harry Potter himself her parents fought on the dark side. She was of course still eligible for their actions. She noticed Percy had come to her hearing and she felt relaxed, her cheeks flushing red. She didnt know why she did what she did in the war, she knew she has wanted to do it in a long time. She sort of wondered what he thinks of her. Does he think she is a dirty slut that kissed him? Did he like it? Did he think of her often? All those questions left without answer. For now that is ...
He looked at her flushed face. He knew it was because he was here. He wondered how long she has had a crush on him. After all all those year he thought she hated him just like she hates his family. Maybe it isnt like that. Maybe she was acting like that beacsue of her family. He could see that she wasnt a bad person. Maybe Pansy Parkinson isnt bad at all. He shook his head quickly. But one question couldnt leave his mind. What did she mean by saving her from killing herself in second year? He was going to ask her. And he knew exactly how to achieve speaking in private with her
"Now ms. Parkinson do you have a lawyer to represent you in court? If you dont have one we will assign you one." The judge asked. " I uhm i don-" her statement was disturped by a loud voice in the spectators " She does Mr. Greenapple." Percy said and made his way over to her place. "Trust me i know what i am doing" He whispered to her before she can say anything.
"Judge before we begin i would like to speak to my client." Persy said confidently. After the judge allowed him he took Pansy to the room assigned for criminals to talk to their lawyers. "You didnt have to do this, even though i am thankful, what do you need to know?" Pansy asked. "Did you mean the kiss? Why did you choose to fight alongside us. Did you take part in torturing students while Voldemort was ruling the school. How was your life at home?"
It took pansy a second vefire she answered. "I am not sure, i wanted to help you becayse i am not like them and i never was. I didnt, i keot my eyes closed when i would see them sneaking off, and never say a word. My parents raised me with all the 'pureblood' beliefs like that i should marry a pureblood, that halfbloods and muggleborns are mudbloods that every other house than slytherin is blood traitor house. I wanted to escape that. I knew even if the good side didn't win, i would die, but i would have done something good. I never wanted to live like that. I always wanted to be seen as someone good." Pansy said and Percy leaned in and kissed her.
The kiss gave pansy bit of a shock but she kissed him back. It was better than the first one. It was deeper and longer and it made butterflies in her stomach roam around. She felt good. He also did but he had to pull away. He had to save her from going to Azkaban. He pulled her away from the room and qhitely whispered in her ear " Trust me i got this. You need to tell them what you told me."
When they entered the room the judge asked " Lets begin the hearing. Now ms. Parkinson, is it true that you didnt fight for the Dark Lord? The statement you have given says you wanted to fight alongside everyone whom has suffered by your family." " Thats right judge. I felt like i wanted for once to be a good person and be my own person. Not the one everyone imagines when they heart Parkinson. I dont want to be seen as one of them because i am not, and never was. True i might have been terrible to people at school. That was my way of locking myself so i dont have anyone because i never wanted to tell anyone that. I didnt want to have to pretend to be like my family too." Pansy said confidently because she was sure in her words.
The judge nodded his head while noting things on the parchment paper infront of him. " Ms. Parkinson Neville Longbottom, Hannah Abbot and Colin Creevy have given statements you have seen them sneak out to train, muiltiple times. Is that true?" Pansy took a deep breath and answered " Yes thats true. I never wanted to cause harm to anyone. I knew what happened when the teachers find out and i hated hearing thei screams all night long from the dungeons. I wanted to be someone they know they can trust. And it happened like that. They told me about few of the meetings and at what time and place to not be so if i see them and dont tell, and anyone finds out i wont be in trouble. I am glad i could help them defeat the death eaters." Pansy said and Percy realised she really meant it.
**The hearing went on for few hours, before the judge went on to write her Sentence.**
"Ms. Parkinson, I have reviewed the information you gave, and since you helped uncovering other death eaters, the court has decided to prove you innocent on few of the cases that have been against you. I am sentencing you to On probation, every week, for a year and then once every 3 months for 3 years."
"Thank you Judge Green apple" Pansy said and turned to Percy. "Thank you for everything Percy, it means the world to me, I can't express how much I'm thankful to you" He smiled and looked at her. "How about you let me take you out to dinner?"
Pansy was shocked, she never expected he, Percy fucking Weasley, would ask her, Pansy fucking Parkinson out for dinner. She wondered what she should tell him because she was rather stunned to hear him say that. She stood there for a hot second before she finally spoke up.
"Yes Percy I would go out with you" He looked very happy to know that and hugged her tightly and buried his face in the crook of her neck. "You just made me the happiest person on earth Pans."

At Pansy and Percy's wedding her head was filled with thoughts. She wondered how she ended up like this. Her bridesmaid was Hermione Granger, someone she hated in her school years. Her flower girl was Harry Potter's first daughter, and her soon-to-be-husband's best man was Theodore Nott. She felt the happiest she'd felt in years. Safe, surrounded by love and people who cared about her.
This was it. The happy end.
