It was after school, Nene and Kou are currently cleaning the girls bathroom.
Nene got used to coming to the girls bathroom everyday after school, it’s gotten to a point she’d find herself getting ready to clean the bathroom during the weekends. But, unlike the other days, this day was particularly colder than the others.
She was freezing even with her cardigan on, she really should’ve worn something heavier than this cardigan she got as a gift. But, there is no point in complaining now.
While she was wiping down the sinks she overheard Kou start whining to Hanako-Kun.
“Do we seriously have to be cleaning the bathroom? I mean, you could’ve at least given us a break, it’s freezing,” Kou yelled. It looks like she wasn’t only suffering through the cold. He looked like he was shivering since he didn’t really bring a jacket to school, probably since he underestimated the cold.
“Nooope!” Hanako sang in a childish tone.
“I don’t wanna be left alone in a dirty bathroom, boy!” Hanako complained, I mean being stuck in a dirty bathroom sounds really horrible.. she definitely wouldn’t want to either.
“How does it get dirty in one day?! We clean this bathroom every single day, you can go one day without a clean,” Kou stopped sweeping the floor to look directly at Hanako now. He was getting furious, and understandable. The girls bathroom doesn’t get that dirty that fast. If it was the boys bathroom.. then.. maybe?
“Shhh.. No need to yell so much! Less talking, more cleaning,” Hanako said.
Kou scoffed at Hanako’s remark, still visibly upset.
Nene thought a little bit, if the girls bathroom was never dirty then she’d probably hang out with Kou and Hanako-Kun way less than she does. She likes hanging out with Kou and Hanako since they’re her friends and they have a bunch of memories together, bad and good. She’d be real upset if anything happened between them.
Nene decides to speak up “I mean, I wouldn’t mind coming here everyday! I get to see you guys everyday and that’s definitely worth freezing in here,” she smiles softly.
“Look, someone’s grateful! Unlike a certain someone..” Hanako glances at Kou with a smirk on his face.
“H- Hey! Don’t start getting cocky now!” Kou gets all flustered at the comment Nene says “I guess hanging out with you guys is nice..” he says going back to sweeping.
“I knew it! You do love being around me, aww,” Hanako teases Kou.
“ I didn’t say that!.. Agh.. Whatever,” he knew whatever he said would dig his grave deeper so he decided to keep his mouth shut.
Nene glances at both of them. Her smile softened, she was happy Hanako and Kou were getting along.. however they decide to do that. All that mattered to her was they were all together. She finished wiping the sinks and decided to wipe the windows.
She heads to the window to wipe it down, with her bucket and rag in her hand she heads over to clean it. All of a sudden she sees snow falling from the sky. She jumps in excitement due to the fact she hasn’t seen snow in a while. Yes, it’s winter but snow has been absent for the past few days. Kou notices Nene's change in demeanor and asks her what's up.
“It’s snowing,” she says cheerfully very quickly. Kou perks up from what Nene just said, he runs over to the window to see the snow falling from the sky. He stares at the snow putting an arm on the cold window completely complied.
“Huh? It’s snowing outside, that’s the first time this month,” Hanako says.
No response..
Hanako can see Nene and Kou immersed with the snow. They were so excited about the snow they just ignored him!
“Heyyy!! Earth to Nene and Kou,” he whined as he flew closer to them.
“Huh..? Oh, sorry Hanako!” Nene apologizes. “It’s just we haven’t seen snow in a while, you know?” She replies quickly to not offend Hanako.
Hanako can see the excitement in their eyes, hm. It wouldn’t hurt to be nice once in a while..
“You know what would be fun right now?” He said
Kou and Nene turn to see Hanako both confused. Hanako finds this kinda funny, seeing them confused is like seeing lost children. But, digress he has to be a nice boss right now! He doesn’t wait for a reply, “Playing around in the snow!” Nene and Kou jump by the subtle agreement for them to leave and see the snow in person.
“R- really?! We can go?” Nene says joyfully. She’s surprised about this break, sure Hanako wasn’t super cruel about the cleaning rules, but he’d never let them leave without a reason. “Are you sure Hanako.. is this a trap?” Kou questioned.
“W- whaa?! Boy, is that seriously how you think of me?” Hanako seems offended, yeah maybe Kou had a reason to think that Hanako was tricking him but that still hurts y’know! “Yeah, I do,” Kou responds.
“Hmph, well if you really have the reassurance! I’m being totally for real right now,” Hanako says pouting, “I’m not all mean, y'know?” He adds. Kou is actually surprised he isn’t getting tricked by Hanako right now. “Thank you! Thank you very much Hanako-Kun!” Nene yells as she dashes over to Hanako to give him a big hug.
“Ah! Uh- no problem!” Says surprised by the sudden hug, but he won’t complain. He lets out a little laugh. Kou sees her thanking Hanako and decides he should also, “Yeah, thanks for not torturing us Hanako!” He says.
“Haha.. so funny,” Hanako says with a straight face.
“What are we waiting for? Come on, let's go!” Nene dashes out of the bathroom running in the hallway. Kou, surprised at how fast she can run, quickly follows her, “H- hey, wait up!” He yells across the hall.
Hanako lets out a little giggle from watching them chase each other. Well, what is he waiting for? Time to catch up, don’t wanna miss out from the fun!
