“AND NEW…WWE WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS…THE USOOOOOOS!”
Jey and Jimmy sat huddled in the corner of the ring after their hard-fought match against Dragon Lee and AJ Styles but it was worth it…the sweat, the bruises that’ll surely be there in the morning…it was all worth it because they were now nine-time tag team champions. It’d been a very hard year for Jey especially, losing his title in quick fashion, the hate train against him, it really felt like there was nobody in his corner. Everybody who was, were focused on other things. Jimmy with Trin’s pregnancy, Punk with his World Title reign, Rhea with IYO and them gunning for the tag titles, Cody with Drew and his World Title reign, Damian with Aleister and Zelina…and Sami with Solo and the MFTs…
God…he missed his husband. Ever since Sami got moved to SmackDown, Jey felt the most alone that he’d ever felt in his entire professional career. He’d always been by Jey’s side, making things better, making him laugh when he needed it…Sami was really the only reason he enjoyed wrestling for the last couple of years…
But now? Standing in the middle of the ring with his lifelong tag team partner, his other half, his brother as nine time tag team champions…everything felt right. Everything felt like it’d be better.
The Usos made their way through the crowd, Jimmy moving like he was on a mission which confused Jey because surely, the company wanted to end the show with a shot of them with the tag titles in the crowd, right?
“Jon!” Jey yelled over the loud crowd, trying to get his older brother’s attention but Jimmy kept moving, like there was somewhere he had to be. “Jon!” Jey yelled again to no avail, Jimmy just wasn’t listening.
Jey quickened his pace, following his older brother before he finally caught up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, stilling him. “Aye…what you movin’ so fast for, uce? We jus’ won the tag titles again and you don’t wanna celebrate wit’ the fans?” He asked and a small smile crept onto Jimmy’s face, one of those smiles that came with the innate feeling that Jimmy knew something, something that Jey didn’t and somehow, it always worried him. It was like that since they were kids, Jimmy always had the ideas and Jey went along with them, that’s where their saying of, ‘You lead, I follow.’ came from. Unyielding loyalty for his twin is what drove Jey most of the time…
Most of the time.
“Ain’t like that uce but…we need t’ get to the locker room.” Jimmy spoke vaguely and Jey furrowed his brows in confusion, “Why? Did somethin’ happen? Everythin’ good?” He asked, worried that something was going on, maybe something had happened with Trin and that’s why Jimmy was acting so weird.
“Is sis okay? Is the baby good?” Jey questioned and Jimmy just nodded his head.
“Yeah, they good…I’ll explain more when we get there. C’mon.” Jimmy instructed, grabbing Jey’s hand that was on his shoulder and gripping it, ushering him through the crowd of fans that were by the concession stands, trying to get pictures and trying to congratulate them. All Jey could do is give them an apologetic look and smile as his twin pulled him away.

“Okay okay, stop yankin’ on me, man! What you in such a hurry for?!” Jey exclaimed, now frustrated as he yanked his hand away from Jimmy, crossing his arms over his chest while adjusting the championship title on his shoulder now that they were outside their locker room.
Jey narrowed his eyes at his twin who just stood there, that same dumb smile on his face, saying nothing. The older man cleared his throat and walked up to the door, knocking on it which confused Jey even more. “Why is you knockin’? It’s our ro-“
Jey found the rest of his sentence trapped in his throat as the door opened and the man standing behind it…was Sami Zayn.
Jimmy stood there, smug smile on his face as he watched Jey’s half of the tag title clatter onto the floor and he immediately crashed into Sami’s arms, wrapping his arms around the Canadian’s neck and hopping up to wrap his legs around Sami’s waist, wrapping around him like a snake wrapping around its prey. He hid his face in the nape of Sami’s neck, inhaling his earthy scent as Jimmy just shook his head at his favorite couple…besides himself and Trin of course.
“My work here is done. I’ll be back in a while, Uce.” Jimmy whispered, giving Sami a thumbs up while the ginger gave his brother in law one in response. “Congrats. I’m proud of you.” Sami whispered and Jimmy smiled brightly, picking up Jey’s title and handing it to Sami. “Thanks. Now…I’ma let y’all be.”
Jimmy walked off as Sami walked back into the locker room, pushing the door closed with his foot. He approached the couch in the middle of the room, placing Jey’s title on the table the best he could but really, how well could he be expected to move with a sweaty, beautiful Samoan wrapped around him like a sloth?
Sami flopped onto the couch, Jey settling into his lap as he looked at his husband. “You here…you really here.” He spoke, almost in disbelief, that he was talking to Sami face to face and not over the phone. He cupped Sami’s face as Sami gave him that smile that he always loved to see, it was like his own personal ball of sunshine.
“I couldn’t miss you becoming what? A nine-time tag team champion. I’m so happy for you bab-“ Sami couldn’t even finish because Jey kissed him with enough vigor to knock the wind out of Sami for at least two seconds, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry! I jus’…I jus’ really missed you. Everythin’ been so fucked up since you got moved to SmackDown. The Vision, and everything wit’ Roman and Jimmy, and and…” Jey rambled, pulling away from the kiss and Sami just shook his head.
“I’ve been watching…and I know how you are…the fact that we live together isn’t enough, is it? Mr. World’s Clingiest Husband over here.” Sami quipped and Jey immediately put on a pout that the redhead instantly laughed at, “You know how sweet I am on you…” Jey spoke, his voice a tad bit higher than normal and Sami thought it was perhaps the cutest thing ever.
“Well I’d sure hope so! We’ve only been married five years, going on six, I would hope you’re obsessed with me.” Sami said before he shifted Jey’s weight in order to grab the nearby World Tag Team Title from the table next to them. “Mr. Nine-Time huh? How’s it feel?” He asked as Jey looked at the belt and then back at Sami.
“Well winning it was good…but I think my favorite reign was the longest one.” Jey answered as he and Sami locked eyes. “Yeah? Why’s that?” Sami asked in a low voice.
“Because I lost it to you.” Jey replied, his voice just as low.
“I’m so proud of you. So, so proud. You deserve this…this was your year…and I have no doubts that next year will be too.” Sami spoke.
“Every year for the past twelve has been my year, baby.”
“Oh? Tell me how.”
“ ‘Cus I got you.”
Jey kissed Sami, this time more gentle than the first, and for the first time in months, he relaxed. He was going into the new year as a champion, he was doing it with his brother and he had his soulmate by his side.
Everything was already going his way.
