Okay. Okay, okay, this was so good. New Year was already here, so unbelievably fast, so incredibly surprising to him. Heck, he remembered the last celebration like it was yesterday, and now, it was already 2026? This was dead crazy! Well, not literally, of course. If he dropped dead, he wouldn't be able to go to Times Square, watch fireworks and... oh God, there was so much to do, wasn't there? Alexis thought while quickly and swiftly sweeping the floor.
Oh well. Might as well get on with it.
Clean the table... fold the clothes...
...
Finally! Alexis sat on the light-green bed, blinking tiredly. That really did took a toll on him, didn't it?
Dressing up, he saw his phone light up.

Luna: Oh, OK.
Ah, right.
- Marina -
She stood on the rooftop in Havana with her parents, a glass of water in her hand, her eyes glued to the horizon of the sky. They were going to watch the fireworks of the New Year, 2026, which would come in just an hour.
"Excited, dear?" Mom smiled. She looked... more peaceful, as if all her worries had gone away in the arrival of the new year.
"Yes, mom." Marina nodded and smiled.
"Our little Ceci is going to be a year older~!" Her dad teased, the la Luna family's trademark ocean-blue eyes shining on his face.
"Dad, I'm not a little kid anymore..." Marina sighed, but her eyes twinkled with happiness.
She promised herself, she'd remember that moment. Just her and her family, with a simple kind of joy.
Beep. Marina startled, looking at her phone. Oh, right. She nearly forgot. It was chat time. They had this annually.
Well, time to get in.
She sent a message: Oh, OK.

Aichira groaned. Total boredom - typical, since she didn't actually celebrate New Year according to the international calendar.
But, well, she still felt like celebrating, even though she'd just had a long maths lesson for three hours. The perfect New Year's Eve present.
Making herself a cup of lemonade and grabbing some snacks, she went upstairs for a book and the comfort of her bed due to the cold Hanoian weather.
God, this is good, she thought, flipping through the pages of the book.
The book she chose was a favourite - straight from a interesting series.
Ring!
Ohh, wait! Right... the groupchat meeting!
She immediately opened her computer, typing in the message to all the others.
This is gonna be good!

Oh, the thrill of the new year. It was wonderful, divine, bringing a strange, melodic kind of happiness.
