Miss ya too, my girl
Looking into the mirror, I see the past. How we two used to laugh at silly things like haircuts gone slightly awry, the food fights during family meals, the late night Sabacc games…
After all, we were together for so long. A family through and true and guess I was a mentor to you too Kid, a parental figure for sure.
The talks we had about life and such, the training we shared, both of us learning so much. Yes, even myself having been taught a thing or too.
But most of all. I miss tucking you in. During those times when sleep eluded us both, I would hold you tight in my arms. Sing a lullaby in Mandoa. Something new to you, but familiar for myself from the long since past childhood, if there really was one.
But yeah, those were the best of times. Those times when I could help you feel fine and so I was fine too. Guess it was catching, the rest of the family joining in, listening, singing along. Chatting where it was needed.
We both helped each other so much. The past forever present and yet we muddled through with each other present there during those hardships for one and other.
But right now, Kid, I’m needed elsewhere and am not able to be there for you. But I promise to make it up to you somehow. Call you when I can and yeah, I do miss you a lot, like said. So whenever I can, I will make a flyby, drop and see you Kid.
Meanwhile, take care of the others as you’re in charge now while I’m away.
See ya later Kid! And don’t be too hard on Cross, as he’s just hiding things better than most, the pain still very real though. But I know you know that already.
