Work Text:
the Cool and the Gang
They’re just out of school, heading towards the pending adulthood.
These special boys from the same family, all though grown up quite differently.
Still trying to figure out their way in the wide world of it all, trying to stand on their own two feet, proud and tall.
Alas sometimes, it’s not as easy as that, despite having your family on your back.
Echo, the oldest of the bunch, suffered a nasty motorcycle accident while still quite young, having been the most reckless of the lot, now paying the price. With lost limbs and cybernetics in their place, still never relenting, always pushing forward no matter the case.
Hunter, the second in line, sort of as he always considers himself the leader of this wayward bunch, being teased about it a lot too. But Hunter always makes sure, everyone is treated fairly, whether that be at home or out there in the world.
Crosshair, the gang’s surly emo child, nothing too wild but wanting to appear like the bad boy with dark glasses indoors. Still, nobody is really buying what he is trying to sell, at least not his brothers, as far as anyone can tell.
Tech, the bookworm as the others so fondly tease him, is very smart. Always having solutions, even wacky ones to start. He is a bit on the spectrum, they all are sorts of, and sometimes, feelings and emotions and reading others is difficult enough even without trying to act all grown up.
Wrecker, the powerhouse of the group, the tallest and most powerful of them all, able to carry the lot on his back, that is a fact! He is the joker of the team, always there to cheer anyone up and giving hugs, even if there is really no need.
They are all quite different from one another, alas together they form a tight-knit group without qualm. having each others backs never leaving one of their own behind. And if the teasing starts for one, they are all in to defend their brother to no end.
And so, the group, living together in their family home, the one they inherited since their parents were lost a long time ago. Always being just the five of them, struggles fought and won sometimes lost but always moving along.
And if someone ever dared to split them up, well, the wrath of any of them was surely felt.
As these five, the Bad Batch as they call themselves, always take care of each other no matter the consequences, usually plenty. And yet, it never does seem to matter any of them.
