Work Text:
Anthony and Kate were enjoying a quiet morning with no kids yelling or arguing in Aubrey Hall, since for the first three weeks of summer all the Bridgerton’s gather in Aubrey Hall. “This is so nice.” Anthony said kissing Kate.
”It’s too quiet.” Kate said and then they heard footsteps. “They’re up.” She said as Edmund, Miles, and Charlotte came downstairs in their night clothes.
“Amma, Appa.” Edmund said.
“Yes Eddy?” Kate said as Edmund sat down.
“We have been having odd dreams.” Charlotte said.
”How odd?” Anthony asked pulling his daughter on his lap and Miles sat next to Anthony to cuddle and Edmund joined since he was never one to ignore his parents embrace.
“We had a dream that we went back in time and saw you with mutton chops.” Miles said quietly. Kate and Anthony shared a look.
“Why don’t you tell us all about it.” Kate said. Sophie and Benedict were out in the garden like every morning in Aubrey hall, Benedict teaching William to paint and be creative, despite his third son preferring the actual facts, and Sophie with little Violet looking at flowers and picking them to do crafts with them.
“Papa!” Benedict looked up hearing his twin boys.
”You two scared the bunny.” Little Violet said angry, her fact reminded Benedict so much of Sophie when he did something to make Sophie angry.
“Sorry Vi.” The two said.
”What is it boys?” Sophie asked her sons.
”We had odd dreams, like the same dream.” Alexander said.
”What was the dream?” Benedict asked setting his brush down.
”You saw us before you met Mama.” Charles said and Benedict chuckled taking out a drawing his sons did all those years ago.
”Ironically that’s true but it was the best thing that happened to me.” Benedict said. Colin and Penelope were discussing a new book to write as Jane read her book on fairytales and suddenly heard running and saw Felicity, Elliot, and Agatha coming down.
”Mama, Papa please tell Eli and Aggie their dreams are not true.” Felicity said.
”But how can our cousins share dreams with us.” Elliot asked her.
”Simple lying is a thing so you can be lying to me.” Felicity said.
“What is this argument all about?” Penelope asked knowing her kids while she loved most of them she had to deal with silly petty arguments.
”Eli and Aggie are lying to me.” Felicity said.
”We are not!” Agatha yelled and Penelope had to bite back a laugh at how her middle daughter looked like Colin but with red curls.
”Okay one of you explain without arguing.” Colin said.
”Agatha and I have been having dreams of us being in the past and helping you and Mama be together.” Elliot said.
”And I say that’s impossible since you two got married in 1813 and had me in 1814 and had Elliot in 1815.” Felicity said.
“But Auggie, Lindy, Carol, Eddy, Miles, Lottie, Charlie, and Alex all have the dreams with us.” Agatha said. Penelope and Colin shared a look, wondering how their two middle kids remember this yet in somehow dream form.
“It is too early for this yelling.” Thomas said coming in with a plate full breakfast pastries, Elliot swiped one due to having his father’s appetite.
”Tommy go grab a fruit with all those pastries.” Penelope said, she understood all her kids having sweet tooths like her and Colin, although Felicity preferred fruit, specifically strawberries.
“Kids sit down.” Colin said as the three eldest sat down. Daphne and Simon lied in bed in the morning.
”When should we actually get up?” Simon asked.
”Never the kids should have grown out of arguing.” Daphne smiled.
”You and I both know they are too much like Bridgerton’s to actually not argue in the morning.” Simon said.
”Are you blaming their stubborn nature on my family?” Daphne asked.
”I never had siblings to argue with.” Simon said.
”What about Gareth, last week the two of you argued on who was skilled at boxing first.” Daphne said.
”Obviously it was me he’s Hyacinth’s age.” Simon said. They heard rapid knocking on the door.
”I swear that better be either David or Edward.” Daphne said as Simon got up pulling on trousers and opened the door seeing Auggie, Belinda, and Caroline.
”Are you three arguing or is there a fire one of you started.” Simon said listing two things that could cause them to get them.
”Did I ever tell you to burn the old Duke of Hastings painting.” Auggie said making Simon freeze in shock hearing that.
“How do you remember that?” Simon asked, he had assumed after his past kids disappeared that these kids were not them or be like them.
”We’ve been having odd dreams about being in the past.” Belinda said.
”Odd how?” Daphne asked putting a robe on.
“We remember you trying to fend off Berbrooke.” Caroline added. Daphne wanted to cry since these might have been her children that disappeared so long ago that are now back.
“Oh you three did come back in time and helped you father not fear being a father, and three are now those three.” Daphne smiled. Eloise arrived with Phillip with Oliver, Amanda, Penny, Georgiana, and carrying Frederick.
“How is it we live the closest yet we are the latest.” Eloise huffed.
“Because our kids are insane.” Phillip offered.
”Ah yes, even though the twins are not Bridgerton’s by blood they still are cursed with Bridgerton chaos.” Eloise said.
”I think you mean blessed Mama.” Oliver said as Amanda looked at a plant.
“Mandy that is poison ivy.” Phillip said grabbing his eldest daughter.
”Oh I know I was wondering if I could pick it and give it to Oliver.” Amanda said.
”Do not even think about that young lady.” Eloise said. They walked in and Penny and Georgiana went to play with Jane and Eloise saw the the playpen with Mary and set Frederick with her.
“Oh Eloise and Phillip.” Kate said and hugged her sister and brother in law.
”Good to see you too Kate, but did we not see you last month?” Eloise asked, her and Phillip do come to Mayfair a few times since Phillip does help teach at Cambridge when classes are in session.
“That was so long ago, we need to plan more playdates.” Kate said.
”That we do.” Eloise said agreeing.
“Auntie El.” Elliot said and hugged his aunt.
”Oh there’s my little namesake.” Eloise said kissing his cheek.
“Is Felicity nearby?” Amanda asked Elliot.
”Yeah she’s in the sitting room.” Elliot said shrugging. Soon all the kids were in a circle playing cards.
”Wait so most of you are having dreams of going into the past?” Penny asked.
”Yeah.” Agatha said.
“It is insane and mama and papa said it was true.” Caroline said. The adults were sitting there and Violet looked at her kids.
”They remember?” She asked.
”Dreams.” Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Penelope, and Simon said.
”I’m glad I did not meet my kids before they were born.” Kate said.
”I agree I would have not believed them.” Sophie said.
”You already did not believe me love and ran away.” Benedict kissed Sophie’s cheek.
”I am glad that they came to the past helped me realize I loved my wife.” Colin said.
”And I could be a good father.” Simon said as Edward ran over to him and Simon picked his youngest son up. “Do you need something?” Edward pointed to the biscuit and Simon handed it to Edward and Edward ran back over to his cousins and siblings.
“What I’m confused about is that tree theory they found back when they were in 1813.” Eloise said and Francesca stood up and walked out. She came back with a book and opened it.
”This says tha time is like a tree that once a change happens a new branch grows but added to that dreams people have of yourself is just different timelines.” Francesca said.
”Well that explains the odd dream I had of originally courting Marina Thompson.” Colin said and Phillip looked at him.
”Why my first wife?” Phillip asked.
”I do not know I think she was trying to pass Oli and Mandy off as mine.” Colin said.
”Or my odd dream of courting Edwina while obviously being in love with Kate.” Anthony said and Kate laughed.
”Oh my dear, Edwina would have surely rejected you, she has brains.” Kate said.
”Did you forget you married me?” Anthony asked.
“Oh brother we have been questioning what temporary amnesia Kate had that led to marrying you.” Hyacinth said sipping her tea.
”So what they’ll just have dreams of the timeline they changed?” Lucy asked cuddling next to Gregory.
”It appears so, I do wish they had told me how you’re my wife would have saved me ruining a wedding.” Gregory said.
”And kidnapping her.” Hyacinth said.
”It worked out in the end and now I have the perfect marriage I dreamed of.” Lucy said. Felicity was dealing cards to her cousins to play.
”I swear this is insane for some odd reason you guys went back in time and changed it.” Felicity mumbled.
”You would be shocked at how much we apparently changed.” Alexander said and his twin nodded.
