Work Text:
Korvo was finally free. Free from all the tasks and maintenance the ship needed. Well, for now he was.
Korvo sat in the living room with Terrys head laying in his lap. There was some sappy Rom-com quietly playing on the TV. Korvo hadn’t initially taken an interest to it, but he was a tad curious as to where Marias relationship would end up.
“Hey Korvo,” Terry glanced up at his husband, “How has it been traveling?” Terry looked back at the TV, then back up at Korvo. “Has there been any other human-like life?”
Korvo looked down at his husband and paused. “Eh, I suppose there has been SOME more intelligent life. Though, nothing as notable as the freak-show of a species we have here.”. Terry smiled and Korvo let out a small laugh.
Sure, there was some interesting extraterrestrial life he's seen. But, he was too focused on helping the other shlorpians figure out how to live. They were down right awful at it. Though, Korvo also had a hard time weaning off of working on the mission too. At least with this new job, he had the chance to boss SOMEONE around. The work was quite endearing , and boy was he proud of it.
“Gah, I wish there was some way, we could have like, more earths.” Terry said. “Like, imagine how easy it would be for you!” His face held a massive grin, “They could learn so much from us... how to truly relax...” He waited a moment, and a smirk formed, “Wwweee also have some, prrreeeetty cool stuff here on earth.”.
Korvo laughed a little. “Well that would be down right impossible. I destroyed our planet duplicating ray... ages ago by now.” Terrys smirk faded as he let out a small sigh.
“But,” Korvo went on, “I could try to make another ray, or we could finally share earth and invite other shlorpians over.” Korvo reached out and grab Terrys hand, and squeezed it a little. Terry looked up at Korvo, locking eyes for a moment.
“I’m surprised - that you even mentioned ‘sharing’ it. After what happened with Zark...” Terry said with a smirk.
“Terrance!” Korvo said, batting his hand on Terrys forehead. Terry let out a giggle and grabbed Korvos hand, forcing it away. “God, It’s just a joke.” Terry said, as he felt his eyes wander back towards the TV screen. Korvo let out a small sigh, with his eyes following suit. They sat for a moment, enjoying each others company.
Terry soon let out a small laugh. He help up his arm and twisted his hand around in the air, letting his ring catch glints of light. “Maybe.... by our next anniversary... you could take me to another earth. Where they released a Madagascar 6 or something cool like that.” Terry paused. “Wait, if you made another earth, how different would they be?”
Korvo paused for a moment. “It would vary, I suppose.” The room fell silent, with the soft sound of the TV filling it. “I.. I think the position may determine it? I have... never really thought of that...” Korvo trailed off slightly, trying to recall any manuals or media he had consumed about it.
“Well, I think one things’ obvious.” Terry said, looking smugly up at Korvo. “WHu-? What's that...?” Korvo said, felling as though he’s missing something in the big picture. “What? Wait, you really don’t see it?” Terry said, his hand reaching up and grabbing Korvos face.
“See what Terry? What are you on about?” Korvo looked down. Terry sighed , as he closed his eyes and pulled Korvo in for a kiss. Terry leaned back, his hand still grabbing Korvos face. “Well what I see... is how we would be together in every universe.”
Korvo blushed slightly. “Agh, Terrance-!” Korvo sighed, and his eyes dragged over to the TV. Terry stared at Korvo for just a moment longer. He turned back towards the TV and resumed watching.
