A morning run. With guests!

Summary:

for Bianka's bday 2026

Work Text:

Bianka kissed her wife, waved to her sleeping cat laid out on the sofa, and walked out her front door. She loved her morning runs, but she loved her birthday morning runs even more because instead of her usual 10k, she let herself run a half-marathon. Two women waited at the edge of her front garden. Both had striking white hair, but only one shared her sharp blue eyes. The other’s eyes were a cross between gold and amber. They both wore athletic gear bearing Schicksal insignias. They both waved, but with different degrees of enthusiasm. Her sisters had come to town.

“Good morning!” Kiana shout-whispered. The sun was only just beginning to crest over the horizon, and most of Bianka’s quiet neighborhood would still be asleep. Kiana was broadcasting her usual peppy cheer while being courteous.

“Hey.” Herrscher of the Void said as she reclined on an invisible sofa floating a few feet off the ground.

Bianka leaped over the fence and hugged them.

“What a wonderful surprise! What are you doing here?”

“Celebrating your birthday, silly,” Kiana said. “Because you’re hard to shop for.”

“Because you’re rich and well connected,” Void added.

“And because we can’t cook or bake you anything...”

“Because we suck at that and your wife is S-tier at both.”

“We thought we could join you on your morning run! Sister run!”

“I’ll be honest: I’m going to float most of it,” Void said. “All of it. But I got up piss early to be here and also it’s freezing, so like, I’m working hard too.”

Bianka beamed and hugged them again. “This is a wonderful birthday present. Let’s get started!”

One half-marathon later, they were back in front of Bianka’s house. Rita greeted them with electrolyte water. Bianka drank hers and chatted with Rita. Kiana was laid out on the ground trying to catch her breath, so Void helped by dumping a bottle out into her mouth and mostly not missing.

“Pleh! I’m being waterboarded!”

“I’m just trying to help you rehydrate.”

“I thought we had a truce! Gyah!”

“Now now, no fighting on your big sister’s birthday,” Rita said, her voice terrifyingly saccharine.

Void tilted her water bottle back up and Kiana got to her feet. They smiled nervously. She’s so scary! They thought in unison.

“Will you two be joining me for the next phase of my workout?” Bianka asked after they’d had a little more time to recover.

“Next phase?” Kiana asked.

“Weight training! Now that I’m warmed up, it’s time to pump some iron.”

“Warmed up?” Void asked.

“Um, I’d love to but I have to take care of some important moon stuff. On the moon. I’ll be back later tonight for your party! Love you sis, byeeeee!”

After a quick hug, Kiana portaled away, leaving Void hovering there.

Bianka gestured to the house and bounced her eyebrows up and down. “My home gym is in the back garden.”

Void gave her an incredulous look. “You know my answer is no.”

“It was worth a shot,” Bianka laughed.

Another quick hug, another portal.

“You gave them the idea, didn’t you, dear,” Bianka said, wrapping an arm around her wife.

“I may have pointed them towards that direction,” Rita said innocently. “I gave them 50/50 odds on actually doing it, though.”

Bianka smiled. “Kaslanas always come through.”
