I feel cold air covering my body, I breathe almost nothing.
I’d like to think that I have swam in the lake, where I can see the three waterfalls burst underwater.
“Jane!” I hear over the deep blue, I pull my head out to see my sister, Kali.
My head hurts, why?
My body is sore, did I stay in the water too long?
The sky is bright, like peace spread through the air.
The grass, so green, so fresh.
“Sister! Mom is calling you!” Kali said from the distance.
Mom? A word I mouth, I reenacted with my tongue.
I look over the yellow painted house on the shore.
It looked pleasing.
I like the color yellow.
With also purple flowers.
It harmonized with the yellow.
I like the color purple too.
I swam back home.
My sister dries me off with a soft towel,
I look in her eyes while my messy hair flings on mine.
Her hair, colorful.
Like the beautiful scenery.
“Dry off now, Mom wouldn’t like you to eat your Eggos while you drip.”
I smile as I remember the fluffy texture on my tongue.
I can hear music inside our little home
I can hear the sizzle, the light chatter.
We both walked up the stairs,
With the simple push of the door I can see my Mother.
Her eyes bright.
Her smile soft.
She’s standing over the stove.
Her rocking chair far.
She looks at me
“My little sunflower, long time no see?” Her familiar voice chuckles.
Seeing her speak so flawlessly, a part of me feels relieved.
I don’t know why.
“Come eat now, your favourite is ready.” She continues to tend the sizzle.
“Jane let’s sit, we don’t want the food get cold.” Kali runs over to the table—
Her hand rubbed on her stomach.
Everything feels warm, like a wish came true.
The sky so bright, the air breezy, the interior clean, my hands relaxed, my temples have no weight
Comfortable like a deep slumber.
