Work Text:
Through the noise of the soldiers, Will hears it. He hears Mike shout "Where's El? where did she go?"
He looks around, trying to spot her. She was just in the van with them, wasn't she? she couldn't have gotten far unless the soldiers really-
He looks at the gate. She's standing on the other side, just as the bomb goes off and the wormhole starts to collapse. "JANE!" he screams, "DON'T-"
Then, he's in a void. It's dark and cold, water surrounding his feet. Jane is in front of him.
"Will..." she whispers, as she grabs his hands, "It's okay. It'll be okay."
"But... What are we gonna do? I can't lose you Jane, I can't- You're my sister. My family..." Will says, as he starts tearing up.
"Will, listen to me. I will always be your sister. I know you were the one who made Mike give me that speech in the pizza freezer. YOU are the heart, Will. And I'll always be there." She says, as she points to his heart. "I love you, so so much. Please, please tell everybody that I loved them as well. Tell Hop- Dad, that I'm sorry." She continues, "And don't worry... You can't tell anyone but, this isn't the end. I'll see you again, I promise. I love you"
Will and Jane collapse into each other, sobbing. Just as Will starts to feel a tug from behind, he starts, "Jane, I love you. Mom and Hop, they love you. The party loves you, and we'll never give up hope that you'll be back-" As he says that, he's pulled out of the void by a soldier. He sees the portal close, and watches as Jane gets enveloped in dust. But he knows she's not gone.
