Chapter 1: Baby fever?

Chapter Text

Ah, the life of the Todorokis, one filled with such wild things, because Katsuki still calls himself a Bakugo from time to time.

But it’s been six and a half years since they’ve been married, both 29 and in quite a tough situation.

Their relationship is… actually okay at best, despite them arguing a lot. But it’s one-sided because, well… it’s mostly one-sided, and Katsuki doesn’t know how Shoto manages to shut him down with just his glance.

Anyways, that’s not the point. The point is, those were before. They’re actually mostly better now when it comes to arguing. Katsuki seems to be tired of whining a lot to his husband.

He’s more… meek. Normal towards him. He seems to shut up during interviews whenever there is one after they duo fight on the field.

He’s still quite the pain in the butt when it comes to publicity, and Enji seems to be having a headache managing Katsuki because, after all, he’s bearing the Todoroki name now.

He even ranked down in the hero rankings one time, dropping to 10. But he’s back at his usual spot of 5, with Shoto almost surpassing Mirio when he and Katsuki once fought a big-time villain, but due to Katsuki’s behavior back then, he still got placed at number 2.

How can Shoto not be mad at him at all? He doesn’t understand it himself sometimes, but he loves the man.

Present day, or night I should say, the Todorokis seem to be sleeping well in their bedroom, Shoto’s arms wrapped around Katsuki while they’re settling down to sleep. Then he feels like he’s caressing his belly.

"Stop, that’s tickling me!" Katsuki whines.

Shoto leans in to look at Katsuki from behind, and with a serious tone, he tells Katsuki:

"Let’s have a baby together."

Katsuki almost jumps at the thing Shoto just told him. A baby? Is he nuts? First off, babies are icky. Second of all…

They’re both men!

With bewilderment, Katsuki turns around to his husband just to say something.

"That’s such a stupid thing you’ve ever said in your life, Shoto. That’s a first. How do you think you’ll be able to-"

"I know a way," he interjects calmly.

Now Katsuki thinks that they’ll just get a surrogate mother to do that thing where she carries their baby (not that he wants one, at least right now) and modify one of their sperm so they can transform it into an ovum or whatever the technicality of it is.

But little did Katsuki know, Shoto had another plan.

But first, both Katsuki and Shoto are now awake again, sitting on the bed, talking about whatever this is.

"But why do you want to have a child?" Katsuki asks the half-and-half man.

Shoto looks at him in the eyes and says, "We’re getting older. Don’t you want a child?"

Katsuki doesn’t seem to understand how or why this man suddenly thought of wanting a child. Is he the same as his dad, Endeavor, where he wants to create a fusion baby or continue the "strong" Todoroki bloodline or their family’s legacy?

"Seriously, that’s your reasoning? There’s gotta be an ulterior reason. Heir? Did your dad tell you to have a kid? Just something to have another headache with-" Katsuki once again gets cut off.

"No, I-"

"Stop cutting me off, Icy Hot! I’m not done talking here!"

Shoto just nods. Then Katsuki stares.

"Never mind. Continue." Katsuki looks down at his scarred hands.

"I just want to have a child. With you. No, my dad didn’t tell me to do anything, nor is it because our child will be an heir; I just want you to carry our child."

Now THAT’S a wild thing to say. Katsuki getting pregnant? That’s impossible!

"H-huh? Are you kidding me? That’s impossible-"

"I know a way. I’ve researched something, though we have to fly out of Japan," Shoto says to Katsuki.

"Now first off, I didn’t agree to this yet- you don’t get to decide! But I’m curious what the hell you researched."

"You see, I have a friend abroad. She’s one of the top 10 heroes in her country. I’m just saying... That she knows someone who will be able to do something about this."

Katsuki seems to be caught off guard. He really did research this beforehand, but it doesn’t matter.

"I don’t want to."

"It’s okay," Shoto replies calmly.

"How are-" Katsuki clears his throat. "How can you just agree back at me, didn’t you want a child?!"

"If you don’t want to, then I respect your decision, Katsuki. I love you."

"Urk-" He still keeps getting caught off guard when Shoto says "I love you" to Katsuki. It feels rare and correctly placed.

Shoto’s words may be short, but they immensely rattle Katsuki to the core when he says that.

"Well, let’s go back to sleep, shall we?" Before they settle back into their usual position.

But Katsuki can’t stop thinking about it.
