Chapter Text
Only very recently had Muriel learned that books were typically organized by the author’s last name.
Jim/Gabriel (Jimbriel?) had organized them by the first word of the first sentence. Muriel picked up this book called Pride and Prejudice by the author named Jane Austen.
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
They shrugged and put the book in the “A” author pile.
The next book confused Muriel. The name of the book was something like an… oxygen… or something like that they had heard before.
They flipped to the first page.
“It was a nice day.”
Muriel stared at the book in confusion.
“All the days had been nice. There had been rather more than seven of them so far, and rain hadn’t been invented yet.”
Muriel started reading the page. Names like “Aziraphale”, “Eden”, and “Crawley” enticed them. They knew an Aziraphale!
They looked over to the stack of books on the floor. Books could wait if the book was about stuff they knew about…right?
