Chapter Text
It was a perfectly normal morning on Griffin Rock —if you excuse a robot the size of a small human dashing around town, causing chaos in its wake. Hence why there is a dog that was leashed to a bench floating in the air. But don't worry about the dog, the youngest of the Burns, Cody, is taking care of it.
The real action is happening on the streets.
A police car, firetruck, bulldozer, and helicopter are in pursuit of the robot.
“Where did that thing come from?” Kade yelled calmly through the comms as he sat in Heatwave's driver's seat.
“It's an invention one of my classmates did for the science fair. The robot's name is Silver.” Responded Cody as he held the dog from earlier in the story on his lap.
Back on the scene, Chase did a drift around the corner, itching closer to the rogue robot. He grunted as he dodged a mailbox that was hurled right for him, causing Heatwave to swerve behind him. Thankfully, it didn't hit them —But it did hit a glass window that two guys were carrying on a sidewalk.
“Was it necessary for your classmate to make Silver fast?” Chief Burns commented as he gripped Chase's steering wheel.
Heatwave was right behind Chase, “We have to cage it in!” He ordered.
Graham pulled up a map on his tablet, “There's a couple of alleyways that lead to the same road that Silver is running on.” He sent the map to Heatwave. “If we could each take a lane, and Dani and Blades get ahead of us, we can cage it in.”
Heatwave gave a nod through his screen monitor, “Right. Boulder, Graham, take the first alleyway. Chase, Chief, stay on its tail. Blades and Dani! Stay ahead of us, Kade and I will take the next alleyway.”
“Got it!” They all said.
Now, I won't go on with details. But let's skip to the part where they cage it in. Because this is when the real stuff happens.
Chase blocked the robot from behind, Heatwave and Boulder prevented it from getting away on both of its sides, Blades blocked it from front. All the bots were in bot-mode, their partners in their cockpits.
Silver was caged.
Just as Boulder was about to lunge at it, Silver's eyes turned purple —and its hand turned into a blaster. It aimed and shot at Boulder, who dodged it, thankfully. But its next target, Blades, didn't have time to dodge.
Blades and Dani gasped as the shot was fired.
“No!” Everyone shouted.
As the dust settled, Blades wasn't in the spot they were shot at. No, instead, Blades was being princess-carried by a Morbot, who was standing at the sides.
Blades screamed, just a bit. Everyone else gasped, shocked and also a bit confused.
The Morbot stood there, turned to the others but its gaze was focused on Blades.
It spoke, its voice robotic, “Morbot has rescued Blades.”
“Therefore, Blades must date Morbot.”
“What?” The others let out, confused, and also slightly surprised.
Chase immediately shouted, angrily protective, “Put my brother down this instant! —And you can NOT date him!”
The Morbot stared at Chase —actually, it was glaring at Chase.
Chase met it's glare head on, his glare carrying protective fury and perhaps a bit of prejudice. The Morbot couldn't be trusted in his book, especially with Blades. He had sworn to protect his younger brother long ago and he was keeping that promise till he offlines.
Blades stared at his twin with pleading optics while Dani commented, “There is something wrong with that robot.”
The Morbot finally spoke after having its “glare battle” with Chase, “Perhaps I shall—”
POW!
The moment Chase had heard the robot and assumed it would have taken another measure, he immediately took action —resulting to punching it’s face so hard it dented. Everyone took a step back, even if they were a distance away. Not only was that punch powerful, but Chase ran so fast to deliver it —it was a miracle that the Morbot wasn't sent flying.
Blades stared at the Morbot's face in shock while Chase picked Blades up, carrying him like a doll and walked backwards, glaring at the Morbot who stumbled back and fell flat on its back, the ground shaking slightly.
Boulder and Heatwave glanced at each other before Chase said, “Apprehend it.” He commanded as he placed Blades back down on his pedes. Blades blinked a few times, as well as Dani.
Boulder and Graham inspected the Morbot laid on the ground, searching for an off switch as Heatwave waited for them to finish so he could help carry it.
Chase stayed near Blades, watching the Morbot as if it would wake up and take Blades again.
Blades watched before he spoke, “What in the sky blazes just happened?”
