Chapter 1: ✨Chapter one: A Heroic Date ✨

Chapter Text

Izuku Midoriya ran along the crowded sidewalks, muttering apologies and dodging people that either stood or walked home from their shopping sprees under the faded neon lights. He heard laughter from others as they sat inside restaurants. Midoriya noted how that after the holidays, the brightness appeared before him and the city, yet seemed a bit less bright than before.

Midoriya slowed down his speed as he approached the crosswalk, before hearing the soft automatic tones call out as people began to cross. He looked up to then see her across the street, standing under the twinkling lights that brightened around her.

Ochaco Uraraka stood in a soft pink dress that reached past her knees. White stockings were met with a pair of dark brown boots. She wore a small light pink beret, a white scarf, and similar white overcoat covered most of her outfit. A small pink purse was under her arm, with a heart shaped handle and small pearls sewn into the sides. A bit of light shimmery eyeshadow surrounded her eyelids, with a brush of mascara, and a light pink glistening lipstick.

Midoriya felt himself catching his breath as he walked across the crosswalk to where Ochaco stood.

"Hey, Midoriya! How was work?"

Ochaco took a moment to take in his outfit. He had cleaned up a bit after work, a dark green jacket that went to his waist and had two large pockets on the side, and a hood with black fleece inside, covering the white turtleneck and dark green tie. He wore his usual black pants and red high-top sneakers, the black laces neatly tied together.

"Crazy," his response brought her back, "The Nighteye Agency has picked up a bit since I was hired back after internship."

"Yeah, of course they hired you back. You helped out the company so much!"

The two began to slowly walk alongside the crowd.

Ochaco noticed his hands, "How are you holding up?"

Midoriya put his left hand nervously behind his head, "Yeah, I think I am getting the hang of it. Training with the power of All Might and One for All."

Ochaco noticed the facial scars from the Final War, "Don't push yourself too hard. You know I still need you here with me."

Midoriya blushed a bit and put his arm down, "Well, let's talk about you for a change. How are things going at the Ryukyu Agency?"

Ochaco let out a small sigh, "Better. I am able to fly a bit more without getting nauseous." She paused, remembering the times she had to heave her insides out when training, "Yet, I am working harder than ever on my close combat skills, mostly trying to apply what I learned from Gunhead."

"I remember you training with him," Midoriya replied enthusiastically, "He seemed like a nice Hero for you to work with. Especially close combat, that can be pretty intense at times."

Ochaco smiled over at Midoriya, "Hey, you got to train with the one and only All Might and all the top Heroes. And came out pretty cool."

"Well, thank you. You came out pretty cool too."

The two each looked away and blushed deeply.

After a few moments, Ochaco spoke up, "Where are we headed again?"

"I made a reservation for a nice restaurant near here. I have never been to it before, and I thought maybe you had not either, so I wanted us both to try it out together."

"That was really sweet of you to consider me too." Ochaco said, the same sweet smile headed in his direction.

Midoriya felt the blush about to deepen on his cheeks,

Then, he felt something off.

He stopped walking and stood for a moment, looking around curiously and a bit intensely, as if trying to find something.

Ochaco, a few steps in front of him, stopped and turned slowly towards him.

Before she could speak up, a shout was heard, "Help! Someone please help me!"

The two perked up at the cry for help and without hesitation ran toward where they heard the person shouting.

After a few streets and bumping into multiple people, Midoriya and Ochaco made it to a person in the middle of the sidewalk, shaking and wringing out their hands in distress.

Midoriya approached the person, "Hello, we are Heroes and heard your cry for help."

"Are you hurt?" Ochaco gently asked.

The person shook their head, "No. No, I am not hurt."

"What happened?"

The person trembled, "These two big guys, wearing all black, came up behind me and roughly grabbed my shoulders. They told me to not make a noise and pried my bag from my arms. I tried to hold onto it as much as I could, but they..." The person choked back a sob.

Ochaco placed a hand on the person's shoulder, "What was in the bag?"

A sniff was heard, "Just my documents, cards, and money. I'm not from Japan, as you can tell by my broken accent. I need the bag back for my work."

Ochaco noticed Midoriya take off his jacket and tie, as police sirens were heard in the background.

Midoriya rolled his shoulders back, flexing a bit of muscles before putting his feet into a runners starting position.

"Don't worry, I'll get your bag back for you."

"You mean we."

Midoriya nodded as Ochaco moved away from the person, "There are nice people in Japan. I can promise you that. Just like my boyfriend said, we will get your bag back."

Midoriya pushed off with his feet, starting to run fast, as blackish green lighting appeared around his feet and legs.

Ochaco pressed her fingertips together and began to float. She remained a fair distance behind Midoriya, who sprinted quickly through the streets, avoiding running into people, making it to the outskirts of the city.

Ochaco scanned the area, looking at the silent homes before leading to a construction site of what looked like to be an upcoming community center.

"Keep your eyes peeled. I have a feeling they are here somewhere."

Ochaco nodded, and landed on the ground. She noted a large pile of rocks in the middle of the construction site.

The two walked around until they heard two voices talking with one another.

"Huh, that was too easy."

"Yeah, like taking candy from a baby."

There was a gentle sound of someone rummaging inside the bag, followed by a huff, "Accept there is no candy in this bag. So, what do we do with it now?"

"Nothing really, we just need to take it to The Big Boss."

"Or you can hand the bag back to us."

The two burglars looked up to where Midoriya and Ochaco stood above them on the soon to be second story of the unfinished building.

Ochaco' s heart leapt at Midoriya' s heroic words.

"Uh, no. I don't think so." Said one of the burglars.

Midoriya sighed, "Okay, then. Just know, we are not leaving without that bag."

Ochaco quickly took a step back and ran back to where she had landed.

Midoriya activated his Quirk, charging up his punches as he tried to land blows onto the burglars, who ducked and weaved with impressive speeds.

"You both are fast. I'll give you that." Midoriya panted.

The taller one snickered, "Oh, yes, we have mediocre quirks at best. Yet, if you train enough and work smarter, then you can move faster."

The smaller one tried to tackle Midoriya by the waist.

Midoriya side stepped just in time and the smaller burglar went down into the concrete face first.

With a groan of pain, he turned back around to look at the Hero, "You like to serve your enemies a face full of concrete?"

"Yeah, with a side of gravel!"

The two burglars looked up to see Ochaco floating in the air with the large rocks near her, hovering above them.

The two gulped and Midoriya did not flinch as he felt the rocks hurl past him, back towards the ground.

"Midoriya, now!"

He leapt up and felt his power reach to the right limit, then he called out, "Detroit Smash!"

The once whole creation became multiple pieces as Midoriya' s punch went clean through.

The little pebbles flew hard and fast towards the burglar, that the one holding the bag let go, and it landed in the middle of the mayhem.

The burglars lay groaning amongst the tiniest of stones, as Midoriya and Ochaco approached them.

Midoriya picked up the bag and gave it a light dusting off.

Ochaco held up her phone to take a picture and sent it to the corresponding authorities.

Midoriya walked over to the burglars and crouched down to their level, "What was so important about the bag anyway?"

"I don't know. The Big Boss wanted it."

"I don't know who 'The Big Boss' is, but if you tell us where he is, then you could get a lesser sentence."

Despite the wounds and aching pains, both the burglars nodded their heads in quick agreement.

💚💖

Midoriya and Ochaco returned the bag back to the owner, who offered a multitude of thank you' s and bows.

"Thank you for helping me." They looked over the two with a slight mischievous smile, "What a lovely couple you both make."

"What, oh no, I mean thank you." The two stuttered over each other, cheeks bright cherry red, and waving their arms around in large circular movements.

The person left with a wave as the couple stood, leaving them sheepish under a faint streetlamp.

However, Ochaco turned up towards Midoriya and gave him a reassuring smile.

He looked at her curiously, "So, are you going to tell me why you are smiling at me like that?"

"Oh, I was just remembering the first time I fell in love with you. When you were out there saving others and protecting them from harmful villains."

He smiled and blushed at her comment for a bit.

Then he cleared his throat, "Oh yeah, well since we are sharing some nostalgic moments, I remember when you tried to help me when I first activated Blackwhip. The power was uncontrollable and too powerful for me to do, yet you managed to find a way towards me and get others to help. I've always admired that about you."

Ochaco looked down for a second, before shyly looking back at him with a playful smile on her lips, "Well, I admire many of your attributes too. Maybe we can discuss more about these over dinner?"

The two let out a laugh as they realized the real purpose of their night.

Midoriya extended his hand to her and she accepted it, their fingers curling against one another against the cold air.

"Well, we did miss the reservation." Midoriya said, as the two walked the bare streets.

"Yeah, that did take a while."

"Shall we go for ramen then?"

"I would want to go anywhere with you."

To be continued.
