Loopeados — El poema que nos unió

Behind a wall, hidden in one of the secret compartments of Port Doover Middle School, Amy, the goth girl, was writing a poem. She was alone, but she didn't mind; on the contrary, she enjoyed it, especially in her private moments.
"All done," Amy said, putting away her pen and leaving with the piece of paper on which the poem was written.
In the hallway, Sarah, the popular girl, and her followers Kelly and Kelli were walking while the popular blonde girl was brushing her hair. A good friend of hers, a girl with pink hair, glasses, and a blue hoodie named Gwyn, appeared in front of them.
"Hey, girls!" Gwyn greeted excitedly as Sarah typed on her phone.
"Sarah says hi, Gwyn," Kelly answered for Sarah.
"I was looking for my sweetheart Luc," Gwyn said, thinking of him.
"Sarah says he's in the cafeteria."
"Thanks!" —she said gratefully as she started to leave.
As Sarah and the twins continued on their way, Amy emerged from her hiding place and saw the blonde girl in front of her. The two looked at each other for a few seconds; the moment was awkward, as both were blushing. The goth girl slowly backed away, turned around, and walked off in another direction. Meanwhile, Gwyn saw Amy looking worried and followed her. Sarah, for her part, ran to her locker and locked herself inside.
In the cafeteria, in a secluded corner, Amy was dejected while Gwyn sat down at the same table.
"Hi, Amy!" Gwyn greeted cheerfully.
"Hi... Gwyn," she sighed.
"Hey, is something wrong?" she asked, noticing Amy's downcast expression.
"N-no, nothing." —she lied nervously
"You've been acting weird today, you turned red when you saw Sarah, don't tell me that..."
"NOTHING'S WRONG WITH ME, GWYN!" she insisted angrily, but her blush only intensified.
"You're really red"
"It's the heat!" the goth girl tried to lie.
"But it's 20 degrees in here"
"Fine, you got me!" the purple-haired girl sighed before confessing. "I'm in love with Sarah!"
"YAAAAAAAAY! Long live girlfriends!" Gwyn squealed like a fan.
"Shhh!" the nerd lowered her voice." Not in front of the whole school."
"Oh, right." she spoke more calmly.
"I admit it, I'm a lesbian. I think Sarah is really cute. When we were on the same skating team, you brought me closer to her."
"I always knew it!"
"How did you know?" she asked, blushing.
"Are you kidding? I always knew you loved her. You turned red every time you were near her."
"Really?"
"That's right. When I saw you two so close, I started pairing you up. Your love for Sarah is as strong as my love for Luc, Amy. You have my support."
"Even if I'm a lesbian?"
"I don't judge anyone, friend. You're a lesbian, but you're still the same goth girl I know."
"What if Sarah rejects me? What if she's not interested in girls?"
"Don't worry, Amy. She's our friend. She'll understand."
In the school hallways, twins Kelly and Kelli stood in front of a pink locker. It was the only locker of that color in the entire school, and it belonged to none other than Sarah.
"Come on, Sarah, come out," Kelly pleaded, while a chat notification popped up for Kelli.
"Sarah says 'I don't want to!' Angry face!" Kelli replied after reading the popular girl's message.
"Girl, why did you lock yourself in?"
"Sarah says 'Is anyone around?'"
"No, why?"
"Sarah says 'Perfect.'"
The twins were outside while Sarah was texting Kelly.
"Sarah says 'Okay, you guys are my best friends, so I'll confess.'"
"Here we go!" Kelli squealed excitedly.
The popular girl was writing a long message in the chat she had with both twins.
"Sarah says, 'I usually like guys, but lately I've been smitten with Amy. Every time I'm with her, I feel weird. I feel like I see her as more than just a friend. I liked spending time with her, and even though she's a goth, she understood me. Gwyn was the one who kept us together, but I don't know how to tell Amy that I love her.'" Kelly read, distressed.
"Sarah, we'll never judge you. We won't abandon you for anything. We're best friends. We'll help you with Amy."
"Sarah says, 'I'm going to come out.'"
Just then, the pink locker door opened and Sarah came out.
"What do we do now?" Kelly asked as Sarah sent a message.
"Sarah says, 'Let's go find Amy.'"
"Let's go then."
The three girls leave. In the cafeteria, Gwyn and Amy see Luc and Theo, who have just received a pizza.
"Oh no, Gwyn's here!" Luc murmured, startled.
"Did you call me, Luc?" Gwyn appeared, flirting with him.
"Ahem!" Amy interrupted.
"Oh, right." She stood next to Amy.
"We need your help."
"For what?" Luc asked reluctantly.
"Would it be any trouble if you changed the boring principal's meeting?" Amy asked.
"We'd love to!" Luc agreed without hesitation.
"What do you want us to do this time?" Theo asked.
"A poetry slam."
"Like that time in a certain loop day," Luc huffed.
"What are you talking about?" the goth girl asked, confused.
"Luc had crazy dreams last night," Theo lied. He and Luc had experienced something similar to that time Amy took control of the Loop, but they preferred to keep what happened in the loops to themselves.
"It shows," Amy said sarcastically.
"So, what do you want the contest for?" Theo added another question.
"You'll see. See you there." Amy left the cafeteria.
"And can we hang out after school?" Gwyn asked Luc.
"Luc's busy, but I'm available," Theo replied flirtatiously.
"No thanks, Ted!" Gwyn exclaimed angrily and left.
"He almost said my name," he muttered excitedly.
"Shut up, Tulio!" she yelled furiously from afar.
"I'll be back at you."
It was two in the afternoon, and all the students were gathered in the burn room where the school principal, Principal Applecrab, was about to give a speech. The entire school, except for Amy, was present.
"Silence, silence," the principal announced calmly as he began to read his prepared remarks. "I've called you all here for... a poetry contest?" he wondered, confused, as the lights dimmed, plunging the room into complete darkness.
The room was bathed in red light as a certain goth girl appeared on stage, surrounded by candles.
"I'll dedicate this poem to Sarah," Amy said, appearing and beginning to read. The blonde girl was filled with suspense about what was about to happen.
On the threshold of the heart, two souls find their home,
A love without limits, that the world cannot eclipse.
Two brave women, their love blossoms without fear,
United in passion, a bond of great brilliance.
In every glance, pure tenderness is revealed,
The sparkle in their eyes reflects an eternal sweetness.
The softness of their hands, caresses full of warmth,
A fire that burns each day, its ardor unceasing.
The world may whisper words full of resentment,
But their love does not yield, it grows stronger with even greater fervor.
Two free souls, dancing to the rhythm of equality,
Defying prejudice, without fear of adversity.
In their words, they find a language of understanding,
A deep connection that transcends reason.
Love has no gender, nor borders to stop it,
It intertwines in their souls, unafraid to bloom.
In every kiss, they seal promises of eternal love,
A path together, regardless of the winter.
Lesbian love is brave and beautiful like the sun,
Uniting hearts in an unrestrained embrace.
May the world learn from her love to celebrate.
May respect and acceptance be her standard.
May all forms of love be recognized.
Because in true love, no differences are lost.
When Amy finished reciting her poem, Sarah was especially moved, Luc was fighting back the urge to vomit, Gwyn was excited, and some, including the director, were on the verge of tears.
"That was so... beautiful," the director said, his eyes welling up. He blew his nose on the paper on the lectern and left crying.
"Sarah, I'm in love with you. Your quiet nature intrigued me, and when we were on the same skating team with Gwyn and the twins, we got to know each other better. I prefer hanging out with the girls. I'm a lesbian. If you don't feel the same way, I can understand," Amy confessed as Sarah chatted and a notification popped up for Kelly.
"Sarah, close your eyes," the twin read.
"Really? Why?" she wondered, intrigued.
Amy closed her eyes, and what happened next was completely unexpected.
Sarah kissed her on the lips. Amy was surprised, but without thinking twice, she kissed her back.
"Long live love!" Gwyn exclaimed, squealing like a fanatic.
"Is this what we had to disrupt the assembly for?" she snapped. "You disgust me!"
"What did you say?!" the twins snapped angrily.
"That Sarah is the worst and..."
In a fit of rage at the boy's response, the twins started hitting him.
"HELP ME, MAN!" Luc begged Theo as he was being beaten.
"Hey! Sarah has something to say!" Amy shouted, trying to defuse the situation.
The twins calmed down and stopped attacking Luc while the boy lay beaten up with a black eye. They spoke up again for the popular girl.
"Sarah," Amy said, "I love you too. Your poem was beautiful. You made me confess my feelings for you too. I never expected to fall in love with a girl. I'm more of a boy girl, but you made me realize I like girls too. You made me come out of my locker, and I'd like to spend more time with you. We're opposites, but that doesn't mean I hate you. On the contrary, I love you."
Amy held back her tears, and they hugged. Everyone at school was happy, especially Gwyn, although Luc was annoyed.
Hours later, class was over. Amy and Sarah were holding hands, with Gwyn and the twins following behind.
"So, what are we going to do after school?" Kelly asked, intrigued.
"We're going to our roller derby practice and we're going to the cemetery so Amy and Sarah can have their first date," Gwyn replied.
"Sarah says, 'You're so organized, Gwyn.'"
"I have everything planned."
"Thanks for helping me with this, Gwyn," Amy said.
"That's what friends are for," she replied. "Let's celebrate with a girls' night in! My treat."
"Sarah says, 'Girls' night in!'" Kelli added.
"GIRLS' NIGHT IN!" they all cheered, except for Sarah, for obvious reasons.
After school, the five girls left. Amy and Sarah looked at each other and then exchanged necklaces. Amy wore Sarah's red scarf, while Sarah wore Amy's spiked necklace. Then, the goth girl bent down to hug her now-girlfriend, and the two held hands, gazing into each other's eyes.
-The End-
