I Kind Of Wished You Had Stayed.

Summary:

Theodore can't handle this right now. He can't handle anything right now. So he's running away. Back to New York. Away from this shitty place they call Las Vegas.

Thing is... does Boris follow?

Work Text:

Theo and Boris were walking through their neighbourhood. Both of them were high off their rockers. Theo really needed a break today. His father turned out to have only come for him for the money. Now isn’t he just father of the fucking year?

Boris, of course, found another new drug that Theo just had to try. So once Theo had somewhat vented to him, he offered him the drug. So, as they were previously sitting on the playground, that’s where they got high.

Theo decided that him and Boris can go to his house. His dad and Xandra would probably be asleep by now, right?

Wrong.

Once Theo walked into his house first. A few steps in front of Boris. He was quite confident in Xandra and his dad being dead asleep. Once he stepped into the living room, he spotted Xandra and a few other women who were in the room with her.

He looked back at Boris. As if he had all the answers to it. Only to find him shrug in response. Thanks asshole. That was real fuckin’ helpful.

Xandra slowly stood up from her previous place on the couch. She walked over to Theo, a solemn expression on her face.

“Theo..” She started, her voice as soft as a feather. It seemed as if she was trying not to upset Theo. Which is surprising. She’s usually such a bitch.

Theo really couldn’t help but question what the absolute fuck was going on.

“It’s your father…”

Theo sat next to Boris on the first few steps of the stairs. Okay.. so his father is dead. That’s kind of depressing but Theo’s as high as the sky right now. Not a tear or sad expression on his face. First his mother and now his father. Okay..

Boris noticed a glass of wine on the side table beside one of the women. He stood up quietly. Taking small steps toward the table. Once he finally had a grasp on the glass, (hah that rhymed) the woman who owned the wine looked up at him with a fierce expression.

“The fuck you think you’re doin’” The woman spat out at him.

“I- er..” Boris barely got a sound out before she made a motion for him to hand the glass back to her.

“You’re far too young to be drinking. Give it back.” She spoke with such a harsh voice that it would’ve made Theo jump if he was high as fuck.

Boris nodded, feeling slightly embarrassed. “Yes, er, sorry. I give back.” He murmured as he placed the glass in her hand. His voice was thick with a Russian accent.

He returned back to his previous spot next to Theo. Theo giggled at the interaction. Earning a shove from Boris and a “shut up, Potter.” from him.

Xandra scoffed. She’s seeing Larry’s son laugh with his friend on the day his father died? Is this child insane?

“Kid, are you serious? Your father just died! Have some sympathy for God’s sake!” She yelled in his face. Causing Theo to take a step back.

Theo was still slightly giggled though. His high of the drugs not going down yet.

Until it escalated..

“I can’t stay here anymore!” Theo yelled as he threw clothes and items into his bag to pack them.

For the first time ever, Boris was being rational and trying to calm him down.

Theo wouldn’t listen to him. If anything, he only sped up his packing. He went so far to pack Xandra’s dog.

He basically burst out the front door to a taxi. Before he even opened the door to the car, he turned to face Boris.

“Come with me.” Theo ordered.

“What- No! No, I can’t do, Potter. You know that.” Boris muttered out the last sentence.

“Why the hell not!?” Theo crossed his arms. He wanted— No. He needed Boris to come with him.

“Give me day or two. I need to think.” Boris said. His eyes flicking to the taxi before settling on Theo.

“No! I can’t stay here anymore! I have to go!” Theo was close to tears at that point. He can’t leave without his best friend. He just can’t.

“Just day. Please Potter.” Boris begged him. He can’t leave right now. Yeah, his dad sucks, but he can’t leave.

“I can’t! Come with me Boris! Please! Neither of us can stay here! It’s not good for us!” He ALMOST sobbed in Boris’ face.

“You go. I follow. In just day or two..”

“But— do you promise? You’ll come to New York too?” Theo would’ve sobbed intensely if Boris didn’t promise to come.

“Yes, yes Potter. I promise. I’ll come.”

Before Theo could say anything else. He felt a hand on the back of his head. Before he could process the situation, Boris smashed his lips against Theo’s. It only lasted a second. It was Boris’ way of saying goodbye.

“Goodbye, Potter.” He muttered under his breath as he ran off. Probably to his house.

In that moment, all Theo was hoping for was that Boris was going to pack for New York.

Theo sat in the taxi. His eyes fixated on the seat in front of him, given he sat in the back.

Boris kissed him.

His best friend kissed him.

Oh.

My.

God.

Boris Pavlikovsky kissed him!

Out of every word he wished to say in that moment. There’s three words that stuck in his head.

I love you.

Now.. to see if Boris follows. Let’s hope he sticks to his promise.
