‘We have to activate her safeguard,’ Elder Quinn said. She and Jupiter were sitting in a dark quiet room. There was only one window. Elder Quinn sat at her desk, and Jupiter sat across her.
‘It wasn’t Morrigan’s fault! It was an accident. Please don’t do this. I… would never forgive myself. She doesn’t deserve this, she’s just a teenager!’ He looked like he was about to cry. ‘Please don’t do this to her,’ he finished.
Elder Quinn stayed quiet and looked at him. Jupiter hoped she was considering not activating the pact. Probably not.
Morrigan accidentally ‘attacked’ another student at Wunsoc. Jupiter didn’t exactly know what happened, but he did know that it wasn’t Morrigan’s fault.
‘She attacked an other student. That is against our rules. We have a safeguard for exactly these kinds of things. We are going to activate her safeguard. I am sorry. Jupiter, please go home. You cannot change my mind.’
Jupiter knocked on Morrigan’s bedroom door. She opened the door. She looked scared. ‘What’s going to happen?’ she asked. Are the Elders going to activate my safeguard pact?’
‘Yeah. They are.’ He hugged her. ‘I will protect you, okay? Always.’
