Work Text:
Fluttering curtains flowing in a breeze through the open glass door. Ocean rumbling and fizzing in the distance a soothing song.
The bedsheets were feather light on your skin. The blanket an extension of the fading dream realm.
You laid on the window side of the bed, your back towards the sun.
You didn't see see the sun climb over the sea to stretch its first sunrays of the day into every corner of the world. A missed beauty opening the possibility of something greater.
A warm glow met Akaza's face, bathing him in its presence.
He was laying on the other side of the bed, facing you. Time stood still, giving you endless time to watch.
Akaza was beautiful. Peacefully sleeping, eyes closed. Relaxed and vulnerable.
You traced his blue tattoos one by one with your sleepy eyes.
One, two, three curves on the left side.
One, two three curves on the right side.
One stripe from the start of the hairline over the forehead ending halfway on his nose.
The curve of his face and his long eye lashes. He was so pretty. Short pink hair dishevelled after a night of sleep, going in all directions. Mouth parted to breath steadily. Sharp canines glinting in the early light.
His eyelids fluttered, opening to reveal the treasure beneath.
Two suns, embedded in cracked moondust.
"What are you doing?" Voice as smooth as silk, a gentle melody with a hint of that rasp that really shines when he growls.
"Admiring" you breathed.
Ashen skin pale enough to make one wonder if he was truly alive. A smile sneaking onto his lips, eyes squinting in amusement. You drank it up as if it was the first time you ever saw anything of the world's vast wonders.
"What a nice welcome to the first day of our honeymoon" he chirped as he moved an arm around you. The motion slid the cover lower.
Greedy you, you would never be satisfied with reliving every detail of him over and over again.
Two blue rings around his neck, the bottom one a starting point for three lines to extend down the collarbone.
"We aren't married." A futile effort at keeping a distance that had ceased to exist long ago. It was too good to be true to accept it without some dancing around the topic and being pulled closer.
"Yet."
Oh, that smile.
Eyebrows perked up, a playful grin melting your core from the inside out, igniting your every fiber.
No matter what.
Excited wide eyes and nonstop running mouth, overflowing energy waiting to be used up.
Neutral slight frown, similar to boredom or desinterest - truly a rare sight nowadays.
Sly, wicked grin, ready to commit evil acts against humanity.
Lovely.
He was oh so lovely. Any time, all the time.
He tugged you towards him with the hand that connected to you. You drifted into him. He was warmer than the sunlight, more enveloping than its rays and more important than its influence on the earth.
He was the star you circled around.
It was him you saw in great detail every time you closed your eyes. It was all about him, forever.
