Work Text:
Bandu and Banjex were hanging out in the stylish garage today. Bandu had brought his xylophone and was playing a song for Banjex. Once he was finished, Banjex clapped.
“That was super chill Bandu!”
“Thanks buddy! Guess all that practicing paid off!”
“I agree! Here, let me grab my guitar and I'll play with you.”
Banjex reached into his pocket and pulled out his guitar.
“You play guitar!?” Bandu exclaimed happily.
“Yep. Been playing since I was a kid. Start me off, yeah?”
“You got it!”

Bandu started a little tune and Banjex soon joined him. Together the two played in perfect harmony with Banjex ending the song.
“Wow! We were great!” Bandu said happily.
“Yeah! Bet we'd be even better if we had a third!” Banjex suggested.
Bandu gasped.
“Why don't we form a band!? We could play at shows and stuff!”
“I'm down!”
“But how do we go about finding a third? Hmm…”
And just like luck would have it, someone interesting walked down the street. He wore a bright yellow pancho with a bright yellow sombrero and was carrying a keyboard on his back. The two noticed him and immediately called him over to the garage.
“Hey! sombrero guy! Come here!” Bandu yelled.
The guy didn't know what the two wanted as he only spoke Spanish but decided to go over to them anyways.
“Hiya stranger, my name's Bandu and this is Banjex! What's your name?”
The guy had a vague idea of what Bandu was trying to say and responded.
“Hello! My name's Bendu. It's nice to meet you Bandu and Banjex." Bendu said.
“Bendu huh? Nice to meet ya!”
Bendu smiled, happy he was able to interpret what Bandu was saying.
“Uh, Bandu, you sure we should ask this guy to join us?” Banjex questioned.
“What's the issue?”
“Uh, the fact that neither of us can speak Spanish?”
“Oh I guess that would be an issue huh?”

While the two continued to talk, Bendu noticed the two instruments they were holding. Without hesitation, he pulled out his keyboard and began playing a tune. Upon hearing the instrument, the two stopped talking and slowly joined him. The three played in perfect harmony, enough to attract a few people in the neighborhood to come by and listen. Once the song was over, the little crowd that formed clapped.
“Thank you!” Bandu and Banjex said.
“Thank you!” Bendu said.
Once the crowd dispersed, Bandu turned to Bendu.
“You're really good with that keyboard, Bendu! How would you like to join our little band?”
Bendu tilted his head in confusion, having no idea what Bandu was saying.
“Here, I got an idea.” Banjex said as he pulled out his phone and began typing on it.
Banjex was typing through a translator and once he was done, he showed it to Bendu, who immediately smiled. Bendu, using the same translator on his phone, replied back.
“Yes! I would love to join your band!"
“Then it's settled! Together we are…! What do we call ourselves?” Bandu said.

“Hmm, well, we're a group consisting of a weed smoker, a chaos god, and a normal dude… How about ‘Off the Wall’?” Banjex suggested.
“I like it! How about you Bendu?” Bandu said, typing up the name of the band to Bendu and showing him.
“I like it as well!" Bendu said while holding up his phone to show the others what he said.
“Then it's settled! From now on, we'll be known to the world as… Off the Wall!”
The group cheered as they played their instruments in celebration of not only their new band but their new friendship as well.
I think I'm gonna like being here now... Bendu thought as he smiled to himself.
