And They Were Roommates

Summary:

After a long while of throwing money together into a bank, Imp and Skizz finally find themselves able to rest in their new apartment.....hopefully. Skizz's head is getting to him a little bit too much.

Notes:

I might make more to this, I'm honestly not sure. Tbh is is something I wrote late at night on a whim, but it feels like a good little something to come back to when I want.

Chapter 1: First Rest

Chapter Text

Imp and Skizz but like in a QPR way? Almost?

Finally, after a few months of combining pays and extra money from one off side jobs, Impulse and Skizz could settle down in their apartment.

The two flopped down in their chairs--not a lot, but enough--and sighed.

They let the silence hang.....and they burst into a fit of laughter.

It had taken them so long, for what felt like ages, and finally they have their own place. It felt insane!

Skizz was worried, to say the very least.
What will their neighbors think?
What will their friends think?
What if one of them gets sick or- what if they both get sick?
What will their families think?
It felt so weird to be sharing a space with his friend, specifically just because it felt like they were so close, while also not knowing each other at all.
At least, that's how he felt.

They only have known each other for a few years, and yet they wanted to spend their lives together, and it seemed to be working out....

"Hey Impulse?" He decided to speak up, turning his head over to his buddy.

"Yeah?" Impulse turned to look back at him, watching his odd fidgeting at the chair.

"....I can't believe this is happening. I have to be honest. It feels overwhelming." Skizz admitted, trying to keep himself calm and sane.

"Me either.." Impulse returned the worry, looking over to the relatively empty space they now own.
"But at least we have a space to work with, right?"

"Right. But what if one of us gets sick? What if one of us starts to struggle? What if we don't get along? What if one, or even both of us, lose our jobs?" Skizz turned back to stare off into space.

"Then we figure it out as we go. My family will gladly help out a bit, and our friends will help too." Impulse stood up, walking over to their kitchen, and getting them both plastic cups of water.
"We have connections and people that love us too much to let us just go out to the streets...."
He trailed back over from the hardwood flooring to their carpet, "And we have each other, which I could argue means the most..."

"..." Skizz took the offered cup, taking a sip to settle his anxiety-caused nausea.
"Thank you."

"Of course." He sat back down, glancing over to the few boxes by the door.
"We can get our beds set up at some point today, but for now? I think we should settle in, no?"

Skizz nodded, resting into his chair.
"Sure. Do we need the tv set up? I could use a little something to busy me."

"Uhh..." Impulse thought it out for a moment. Yeah, they could use their phones to watch something, but if they got the tv set up and used that instead, they could screen share and get whatever they wanted.....
"Yeah, sure, let's set that up, then we can figure out what to watch from there."

Skizz smiled a little, cracking a smirk, and stretched when he stood, "Alright, let's get that started then!"

Impulse joined by his side, pulling out the box where their tv should be, only to open it and find a broken screen....

"...."

"...."

"Well....f-"
