Work Text:
It was a warm day, and everyone from both camps was gathered at the beach along the lake.
“Come on in, it’s warm!” Honeymaren called out.
Elsa stepped forward cautiously and dipped in a toe. The water was warm, so she walked in a little further.
“So?” Honeymaren prodded.
“It is nice,” Elsa said.
Honeymaren came over and grabbed her hand, leading her in further. “You’re not cold, are you?”
“I’m fine with cold water,” Elsa said.
“So, what are you waiting for?” Honeymarent said, pulling her nearly to waist deep water.
Elsa decided to give in, and dove into the deeper water. When she surfaced again, Honeymaren was standing in the same spot, so she swam back.
“You could have given me some warning!” Honeymaren laughed.
“I suppose that’s not my way,” Elsa said, smiling. “So, are you going to swim, or not?”
“Count of three?” Honeymaren asked.
“Ready?” Elsa asked. “One…”
“Two…” Honeymaren joined in.
“Three!” they said together, dipping in.
Elsa opened her eyes underwater. It was murky lake water, though she thought she saw Honeymaren also looking around. She surfaced again. Honeymaren popped up, too, laughing.
“This water is disgusting!” Honeymaren laughed. “I’m definitely showering before dinner.”
“Not a bad idea,” Elsa agreed, following Honeymaren to the shore.
They got to their towels and sat down.
“Isn’t there a cookout tonight?” Elsa asked.
“Right here, I think. You’re coming, right?”
“Of course!” Elsa exclaimed. “It’s three already, so I suppose we should go get cleaned up.”
“Meet you back here?”
“Definitely.”
