Work Text:
Connor felt like a third wheel ever since his brother, Travis started dating Katie Gardner: head counselor of the Demeter cabin. Suddenly Travis spent less time with Connor and more with Katie. Conner didn’t get why anyone would pick a girl over his own brother until he met you.
You were an average mortal. As far as you were concerned the gods weren’t real and monsters didn’t exist.
One day on a hot summer evening someone called the pizzeria you worked at to order a pizza. The strange thing was that they wanted it to be delivered in the forest. You assumed it was a prank but hey, it couldn’t hurt to atleast do it.
You told the guy on the phone it’d take some time but he didn’t care. Apparently he was on a camping trip and wanted something that tasted better than berries. You tried your best not to giggle at that.
40 minutes passed, you couldn’t find anyone in the forest. You felt like you had been driving for hours. Your GPS did start acting weird. It said you were driving near ‘Camp Half-Blood’ before it quickly flickered back to ‘Delphi Strawberry Service’. You were now only focusing on the GPS, not paying attention to the road. Which was a big mistake. The car slightly went to the right and you felt like you crashed your car against, air? Your body quickly lost it’s consciousness due to the crash. When you woke up you realized you were in some kind of infirmary. But there were no doctors. Only a tanned 13 year old boy with an orange shirt and a 16 year old boy with curly hair staring at you dreamily.
“She’s waking up.” The 13 year old said, looking between you and the other guy.
You tried to think where the hell you were, awkwardly scratching the back of your neck.
“Where am I?”
The 16 year old was still staring dreamily at you before he snapped out of it, a mischievous smile on his face.
“You’re at cam- Delphi’s Strawberry Service! You crashed into a tree so Will here helped fix you up.”
You looked between him and the boy, Will. You laughed. What was this? Some sort of prank? No way that 13 year old could fix something like that.
“Yeah right.” You responded, rolling your eyes.
“It’s true! I swear to the gods!” The guy said, having a very bad fake sad expression on his face.
You took notice how he said ‘gods’ and not ‘god’. This made you raise an eyebrow. Who the hell still says gods?
“Gods? Like Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva or something?” You joked, still laughing.
The younger boy Will looked at the older one, as if trying to say that he should shut his mouth.
“No more like-” the older guy tried to respond, before getting cut off by Will.
“Connor.” Will said awkwardly. Now you atleast knew the guys name. You continued to look between them, confused and amazed. Connor looked slightly disapointed but also head over heels for you, which you found even more hilarious considering you met him like 5 minutes ago.
“Well, what were you doing driving a pizza van near ca- Delphi’s Strawberry Service?” Connor asked, you also took notice how he for the second time almost said something else. This was strange.
“Someone ordered a pizza?” You responded, as if it was the most obvious thing. But now that you said it out loud you realized how dumb it sounded.
“Huh.” Connor tilted his head slightly, trying to take a better look at you.
“Well are the pizza’s any good?” He asked curiously. Will elbowing him.
You just nodded, your confusion growing bigger by the second but not commenting on it.
After some time resting in the ‘strawberry fields infirmary’ (seriously, who needed an infirmary at some strawberry fields?). You returned back to your work. Making up a shit excuse on why you were gone for a few days.
Connor, who somehow managed to steal a phone became a frequent client at the pizzeria you worked at. Ordering practically daily in hopes you would deliver it. Which, you usually didn’t but every once in a while he could see your confused face again. Most of the time he’d try and flirt with you.
