A pair of eyes emerged in the shelf's shadow. They didn't blink.
They stung every corner of the room. First, on the scattered files in the left corner, then on the right, where some yellow papers were neatly organised. Only to settle, in the end, on the person from the same corner.
Your hand rested on the pile huddled between your body and the computer. Eyes scanning the monitor before blinking in surprise at the sudden flash from the 'Error' message. You groaned and covered your face.
The red eyes moved forward. A humanoid coming out of the shadows.
"You still didn't finish?" Alucard said as he began to walk towards the desk.
"No." You flinched your head toward him for a brief second, then back at the monitor. "What do you want?"
The vampire was now in front of your desk. He didn't bother to respond. His head just leaned towards your index finger - an open cut at the top.
"I thought Integra didn't allow you to drink from the staff," you said, eyes finally meeting his.
"I can't take it," he responded while his palm came beneath yours. "But offered…"
You sighed. "Go on…"
The corners of this lip rose, teeth parting just enough to rest your finger between them. His tongue circled it exactly two times before releasing it.
"Should I also put a ring on it?" Alucard asked. Then, he lifted himself on top of your desk. "Being old and unmarried is dangerous, strange even. Right?"
You shot your head at him. The tips of your eyebrows almost met the one of your eyes, a thousand lines shaping your forehead. A great company to the ever-present ones near your mouth. The vampire laughed in response.
"You're like rye, dear."
