The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System (SVSSS) is about Shen Yuan, a modern reader who transmigrates into the trashy web novel "Proud Immortal Demon Way," becoming the cruel villain Shen Qingqiu, destined to be brutally killed by the protagonist Luo Binghe; a system forces him to "save" himself by fixing the plot, leading him to unexpectedly win over his demonic disciple and find love, all while comically navigating the novel's tropes and his own critiques.
- Transmigration: Shen Yuan, a fan of web novels, dies and wakes up in the world of "Proud Immortal Demon Way," a stallion (harem-focused) novel he hated, inhabiting the body of the villainous teacher, Shen Qingqiu.
- The Goal: The System tasks him with preventing the original plot's disastrous ending, where Shen Qingqiu is tortured by his disciple Luo Binghe for his abuse.
- The Conflict: Shen Qingqiu tries to be nice and support Luo Binghe to avoid his gruesome fate, but the System's demands and the original plot points often force him into villainous actions, creating comical chaos.
- Novel within a Novel: The story parodies common web novel tropes, with Shen Yuan's internal monologue constantly criticizing the author (Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky) and the story's flaws.
- BL Romance: Despite the initial villainous setup, Shen Qingqiu's efforts to manage the plot inadvertently lead to Luo Binghe falling in love with him, turning it into a slow-burn Boys' Love (BL) story.
- System & Redemption: Shen Qingqiu must balance his self-preservation with the System's missions, navigating his own past critiques and the reality of a world he once only read about.
EXTREMELY CANON: Wangxian is the ship name of Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji. Hualian is the ship name of Xie Lian and Hua Cheng. Bingqiu is the ship name of Luo Binghe and Shen yuan/Qingqiu

Key for mainly non-xianxia fans in detail. But if you are one, then just read the bold parts.
Character = abbreviation of the main name for the person. It will be used often in writing cause i'm mostly lazy to write full names over and over again.
Real name = The traditional actual (Chinese) name of the character give by the author herself. The first part is the surname (wie, lou, shen), second part is the birth name (Zhan, Cheng, Lian), and the third part after "courtesy" is their courtesy name (Wuxian, Wangji). In ancient China, a courtesy name (字, zì) was a formal name given at adulthood (teenage). Only close family and friends can call the person with their birth name and others have to use the courtesy name as a sing of respect. Doing so without said's consent was considered extremely disrespectful. If the said person denies permission to family as well, then it's said's choice and the family are to comply. If there is a '/' then that person has more than one names. Most characters weren't given courtesy names by the author.
English name: They are in a place where English is spoken, so an english name is necessary for easier interaction with English-speaking characters..
Canon End Age = The age of the character at the end of their novel. The author has mentioned the characters' ages many times but i couldn't find the specific confirmed ages so i had to write them specifically myself. For example XL and HC are said to be 800+ but i made it specifically so that HC is exactly 800 years older than LZ and WY.
Immortal age = The age of the character at the present time in this au.
Apparent age = The physical age they appear to be. A character could have achieved immortality at 4, 84, or 184. In xianxia, immortality typically halts aging — often reverting their appearance to a youthful prime before stopping — so they may look similar in age despite ascending at different times. Also, they are cultivators: beings who live alongside humans but are far stronger, wield spiritual powers, age very slowly, and cultivate toward immortality or godhood. For them, 84 is still young, and 184 isn’t considered old.
House = The house that character i sorted them into acc to their personalities. Hogwarts is a wizarding school. It has 4 houses to represent the main 4 teams or groups names Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Hufflepuff.
Gender = All listed characters are male unless otherwise noted.
Fandom = Novel and Author name. "Mo Xiang Tong Xiu" is our beloved author's PEN name.
Note: Au means "Alternative universe" which is mix of canon, fanon, and personal idea of the writer. Canon means what actually happens in the original story, confirmed by the author. Fanon is any popular fan theories or interpretations not confirmed in canon, but accepted by much of the fandom.

This au takes place in post-Prisoner of Azkaban Hogwarts which is Harry Potter's 3rd movie
Everything that happened after the end of that just doesn't happen aka the events in the 4th movie and onwards well.. don't exist.
Sirius Black is free and lives nearby; Remus Lupin remains the DADA professor; Peter Pettigrew is thrown in Azkaban. These characters made their entries and leave in movie 3. Sirius was Harry's parents' old friend. He was accused of killing James and Lily ((Harry's parents)) died and was sentenced to life in Azkaban (prison) but he managed to escape and went far away. But in my au, i just changed that to he lives near instead without any problem. Remus was also a great friend of black and others and he left his job as DADA professor die to public pressure of his secrets revealed but in this au he isn't forced to leave, and stays without any problems as well. Peter was also a good friend before but he soon betrayed them and was the actual reason Lily and James died. In canon he escaped (later dying in 7th film) but in my au, he was successfully caught and given death sentence in film 3 instead.
Teenager relationships (especially same-sex) are not publicly acknowledged in 1990s Hogwarts culture at all.
The Golden trio consisting of the main characters Hermione, Ron, and Harry form HP are around 13 - 14 in age
Magic hierarchy: god/cultivation magic trumps wizard spells. Hogwarts has never seen power like this [i believe this too much so i included it in my au. I would really like your opinion on this].
Our MXTX characters use English names publicly, traditional names privately.
While other students wear normal modern clothes under their uniform cloak, our MXTX characters wear traditional robes whenever under the top cloak.
Our MXTX characters keep spiritual weapons like swords (Chenqing, Bichen, etc.) and signature pieces (headband/hair ribbon/e.t.c) on them always even if it means trouble.
Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall know our MXTX characters are from another world; no one else does.
Our MXTX characters have their own magics (cultivation, godly powers, etc.) ALONG with learning wizardry but keep them hidden most of the time.
Our MXTX characters keep a low profile; Hogwarts... is none the wiser.
Our MXTX characters they realm-hop into the Harry Potter world.... duh.
It's obvious, but worth noting: Our MXTX characters are immortals.
The Demonic Trio consisting of Wei Wuxian, Hua Cheng, and Luo Binghe, which are originally from different novels, share a ghost mother and god father across realms—though each also has their own origin parents (some immortal, some mortal). Haha, I know, it sounds wild. 😅
Our MXTX characters know each other’s stories inside out AS they first managed to visit each other's realms about 2500 years ago and have been visiting each other on daily bases, staying over weekends, finally catching up. This time, they decided to visit a realm which is in the future and with a completely different magic. And so they did. Why? Well they wanted to try something new out of their usual lives and experience other kinds of magic. Being immortal and all must get boring at some point, especially for our "Mr. sieve-memory inventor Yiling Patriarch" (WWX) who cannot stay still a single second. Then comes how. well.... I'm not really sure so feel free to tell me what you think. Did i just tell the whole backstory in a random point?
Our MXTX characters are Pure-Bloods (idk how either so do tell me how they can) but have no interest in the "Mudblood" ideology. Their goals lie far beyond schoolyard bigotry. Muggles are normal humans. Most Muggles don't know magic exists and stuff. A Witch or wizard that has no Muggle ancestors in recent generations is called a Pure-blood. These are considered most superior. Families like this include the Malfoys consisting of Lucius Malfoy and Draco Malfoy. A witch or wizard that has both Muggle and wizard ancestry in their close family is a Half-Blood. These are considered okay. The perfect example is Harry Potter who's mother lily was a muggle and his father James was a wizard. Lastly, A witch or wizard born to Muggle parents is called a Mudblood. Which literally means dirty blood but well.. Hermione Granger is also muggle born. Basically the ideology that values pure blood over other blood statuses is a form of magical racism.
They look much older than most students because did i mention they are in the same year as the golden trio?, but Hogwarts accepted them citing delayed magical education.
They are, of course, very married, no one has any idea about that either..... yet?
To be clear, Wangxian marry in extra chapter "Incense burner 2", Hualian are married in/by volume 2 (confirm if you can), and Bingqiu though not officially married in canon, call each other zhiji which mean soulmate and i have heard or seen it used in EVERY C-bl i've watched and NOT in straight ones sooo they are Fanon-married (correct me if i'm wrong here as well)
