Warriors: The Missing Apprentice

Summary:

A new era is upon BreezeClan, CliffClan, FlameClan, and StreamClan. With a new generation of leaders comes a new set of apprentices for the Clanless Clowder, a group of cats blessed with immortality and expected to ensure peace is kept between all four clans.

Petalpaw feels as if the weight of her entire clan rests on her shoulders. When her brother is made a Clanless Clowder apprentice, she knows it is up to her as Rainstar's only remaining kit to grow into the strong and capable warrior Rainstar expects her to be.

While Branch is proud to have been one of the apprentices selected by ShineClan to maintain peace over the clans, her so-called "grand destiny" thus far has only brought her anxiety. As her fellow apprentices begin receiving signs from their ancestors, Branch starts to wonder if ShineClan is second-guessing choosing her when she's met with silence from them. She knows she must prove herself to them before she's cast out of the Clanless Clowder.

Sunpaw knows he's destined for something greater than average warrior duties. Signs from the ancestors are supposed to be meant only for Clowder members, after all. Yet, he's been receiving them. The only problem? No cat believes him.

Notes:

While this story mostly sticks to canon clan rules/structure, some of the Warrior Code has been revised to compensate for the addition of the non-canon Clanless Clowder. I also made edits to eliminate rules I personally think are kind of stupid (like medicine cats—healers—not being allowed to have mates and kits). To avoid any confusion, I decided to add the revised code here.

Cats can take mates and/or make friends from other clans, but their loyalty must remain with the clan they're in. A cat can leave a clan to join another if they so choose, and if the leaders of both clans allow it.

Clan cats must never trespass on territory that does not belong to the clan they are in without permission. Clan borders must be marked regularly.

Prey must be killed only to be eaten. The most vulnerable clan members, elders, nursing parents, kits, and sick/injured cats, must eat first.

Healthy kits must be apprenticed at six moons old and can choose to train as a warrior, healer, messenger, or kitsitter.

No kit should be abandoned under any circumstances.

Any cat can have kits, including healers, deputies, and leaders, as long as another cat can temporarily take their place while they're in the nursery.

A cat should never take another's life on purpose.

There should always be four clans. If at least one clan is ever in danger, the others are expected to step in and help them.

Clan leaders meet every moon. The five cats of the Clanless Clowder rotate positions after each meeting, with one in each of the four clans, and one at Floral Hills, the gathering place.

Floral Hills are a sacred, neutral territory where blood should never be spilled. Any cat should be allowed to pass through without fear of harm.
