Work Text:

Following the arrival of March, flowers bloomed along prairies. and so did pollen.

"ACHOO!" Denmark sneezed, his body collapsing back on the plush mattress.
Denmark was unaware of his pollen allergy until recently, and even though he usually didn't travel outside too much anyway because of the presence of wild animals, he put down his fear to go and spend a weekend with his good "friend," Norway.
Worst mistake.
His body rattled as he let out another sneeze, his already exhausted body overexerting itself to reach for a tissue.
"Is there anything you need, Den?" Norway asked, "Maybe a beer?" Denmark chuckled before hacking up another cough.
"God—Denmark I'm not giving you a beer; you might spit it back up before you finish it!" Norway hated seeing Denmark sick, mostly because he always ran out of real medicine by the time spring came around.
(Thanks, Martha Louise.)
"Euughhh," the sickly country groaned, snapping Norway out of his thoughts back to reality.
"Maybe I could-- cook for you!"
"I'm not sure if food would heal me…-but sure," Denmark commented, curling up under the large comforter Norway gave him.
"It may not 'heal' you, but maybe it'll make you feel better!" Norway grinned, scurrying off to the kitchen to start cooking.

Norway hurried back to Denmark, tray in hand, setting it upon the bedside table.
"I've got your food, Den!" Norway chimed, carefully cutting a piece of fish.
"Hey, I really appreciate you doing this for me," Denmark said, grinning ear to ear.
Denmark's words only made Norway smile more, lifting the spoon to Denmark's mouth.
Denmark bit down enthusiastically before swiftly moving away, his face scrunching up in disgust.
"Is… is something wrong?" Norway stammered, starting to slightly panic that Den was sicker than anticipated.
"No, it's fine... it's just..." salty…" Denmark spat, his lips puckered, coughing slightly as he drank the mug of tea beside the tray.
"Oh," Norway said flatly, flushing a bit out of embarrassment at his habit of overseasoning his food.
Denmark giggled at Norway's reaction; he didn't mind the way Norway seasoned his food (free food is free food), though the cycle of unseasoned to too seasoned was starting to feel like a game of roulette.
"Did you still want it or—"
"YES!" Denmark exclaimed, "I mean... yes, please."
"Well alright!" Norway laughed before scooping off another piece.
