Work Text:

Shiyuan had expected many things when he invited Wise into his hotel room that night. Anger, resentment, fear, judgment, frustration, betrayal, sadness. Lust— or better put, desperation— was not in any of the scenarios he imagined in his head.

Yet here he was, melting into the other man with reckless abandon, greedily lapping up any possible noise he could make the other man make like a man dying of thirst. And perhaps he was. In the thoughts he kept locked away in the deep recesses of his mind, to the point even he forgot about them, he craved the attention his sister always drew. They were shameful, poisonous thoughts, but they held an inkling of truth. Perhaps that’s why he opened his door to the proxy, happy he had been their first option.

A whimper of embarrassment escaped him as the Wise’s tongue briefly brushed against his fangs. A shiver ran down his spine as he further melted back into the mattress, submitting to the annoyingly calm, insistent force that was the proxy above him. As the other man deepened the kiss, further fueling Shiyuan’s reckless streak, the thiren’s ears lowered till they were pinned against his head, all while his tail tightened around the proxy’s waist.

As teeth clashed against each other, their hands roamed each other’s bodies, leaving warmth in their wake. It was a far cry from the proxy’s gentle and hesitant nature, yet it consumed him all the same; like a wildfire, it roared through him, leaving nothing left in its wake. Drowning him in something he had craved for since birth.

Deft hands found the back of Shiyuan’s neck and threaded themselves in his long, dark locks, guiding him closer. The intentions behind his movements were unmistakable; they were purposeful, and more importantly, they were desperate

Pay attention to the people around you, they care about you. A nip at the bottom of his lip.

You scared me. The proxy pulled him closer.

Please don’t do that again. His grip tightened.

And Shiyuan allowed himself to be devoured by it.

Darkness slowly crept upon the apartment, and before Shiyuan knew it, it was midnight. Despite the fact that it was late, despite the fact that his sister was most likely waiting for him at the summit, Wise stayed.

He stayed, pressed against him underneath the sheets, arm draped over his chest, lazily caressing him. The moonlight danced across his silver lashes, which were half-lidded with exhaustion, which softened his features to the point that even looking at the proxy made something unbearably warm burn deep in his chest.

His tail brushed against the other man's leg, drawing a chuckle deep from his chest. Wise shifted where he was lying till their foreheads were merely inches from each other, his breath ghosting his collarbone, all while he wore an abnormally mischievous smile on his face; it made him wonder what other developments he missed, what else hadn’t he been there for?

“Yer’ warm…” Wise slurred, nuzzling into the crook of his neck before tilting his head up to briefly catch his lip once more.

“I’m half-thiren,” Shiyuan replied, while adjusting his glasses out of habit. “It comes with the territory.”

The proxy moved closer, tightening his grip around him, sighing as he finally settled against him.

“I’m going to miss you during the winter…” Wise murmured, looking up to meet his eyes. Shiyuan couldn’t bear to meet his gaze, so he looked away. Silence befell the two.

Wise spoke first. “Do you have to go?”

The thiren sighed, feeling a headache build up behind his eyes. He shut them tightly. “I have no other choice, do I?”

His ears twitched as he heard the proxy shift, leaning back and propping himself up with his elbow.

“Sure you do. It’s not like anyone here wants you to leave. Unless…” The proxy chewed at the bottom of his lip, brows furrowing. “Did Lu say something to you before he got arrested?”

Shiyuan barked out a laugh, dragging a shaky hand over his face. “If only it were that easy. No, it’s just… It’s just…” His eyes burned with a passion as he trailed off. “It’s just the best for me…”

Not without hesitating, Wise nodded, curling closer. ”Alrighty then,” he muttered, intertwining their hands together. “Then let's make these last few minutes count, then.”

And they did.

Wise was gone when Shiyuan woke up the next morning. It seemed like he had changed even more than he could have ever imagined.
