Oh, Arthur, they look just like you! – @nini-trash-forever on Tumblr
Ooh, okay, I have a Halloween ask
Trick or treating kids coming to the house and it's a bunch of tiny kids dressed as Blinders.
Arthur is delighted.
Hey, thank you for submitting. I really hope you like this! Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I’m super happy to write something for today before it ends.
Oh, Arthur, they look just like you!
Halloween is your favorite time of year. The frights, the tricks, the treats. It’s all your favorite part. It was a surprise when Arthur had told you he nor his family had ever celebrated the amazing holiday. To say you were shocked was an understatement. As Peaky Blinders, most people in Small Heath, and Birmingham as a whole, were scared of them. This is why they never celebrated the holiday. You had told him all the amazing things that could happen on Halloween, and since it was nearing your first anniversary as a couple, you couldn’t let this opportunity pass you by. You and Arthur had settled in after making some homemade candy, like honeycomb and buying some from the local sweets shop. Arthur couldn’t believe how excited you were when you had walked into the shop. You looked just like a kid—well, adult—in a candy store. He let you drag him around as if he was a lost puppy, but to be fair, he looked like it. Arthur wasn’t a fan of sweets. He says that sweets aren’t good for you, but he conceded when you said that they were okay in moderation.
Since their popularity and infamy had grown throughout England, you’d figured that a few children might dress up like the Blinders out of idolization. The first few children were dressed up as the king, which wasn’t a surprise. Some dressed up like children's stories and Celtic mythology. The first child dressed up as a Peaky Blinder was around 6:30 pm. He wore a smart suit that was well-fitted and the tell-tale cap without the razor blades. After seeing it you immediately called over Arthur to see. He blushed after he rounded the corner of his house. More children dressed like the Peaky Blinders came to the door when they saw Arthur. “Oh, Arthur, they look just like you!”
He looked down at you in admiration. "Yes, love, they do look like me." He quickly ran to the living room to grab his cap off of the table and he put it on as he got to the door. You grabbed the bowl sitting by the door, offering it to the children to grab what they would like. He then asked excitedly, "Would any of you little Blinders want some homemade honeycomb?" A resounding yes came from the young children and you handed them chunks of the treat. "Happy Halloween!" The two of you cheered throughout the night, repeating the phrase and process of giving out candy. Once the trick-or-treaters had started to slow and you weren’t getting as many at the door, you both sat down on his chair, you on his lap.
“So, how do you like Halloween, then, my love?”
He smiled the largest smile you’d ever seen and said, “Next year we’ll need more candy. For right now, we should go up and celebrate between the two of us.” You got out of his lap and raced him to the bedroom, ready to celebrate with the man you love.
