The aftermath of them getting back together.

Notes:

I’m going to try and write a fic after every episode like I did last season.

I have no words. NO WORDS. This isn’t even half as good as the episode because I can’t replicate that 😭

This took forever because I couldn’t think and I have a headache lol

Enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“How’s your knee?” Tim asks. Lucy is standing at the edge of the bed. Tim is on the other side looking at her with a worried look on his face. She loves that he’s worried but she’s tired and Tim’s bed is comfortable.

“It’s fine.” She says and the truth is—it’s sore. But she has had much worse and she would survive.

“Lucy.” He says and he gives her another look. She pulls back the covers and climbs into bed and gives Tim a pointed look. He sighs but pulls the covers back and climbs into bed as well.

He’s instantly next to her, his hands going down her body and up her shirt. He rests them on her stomach. He inches his fingers up and she sighs happily.

“Is this real?” She asks him. “You really asked me to move in with you?” Tim shifts in his spot and turns his head to look at her.

“You aren’t changing your mind are you?” He asks. “Because I will prove to you. I will. It might take awhile and it won’t be perfect. I know—”

“Tim.” Lucy says and god she loves when he rambles. He did it when they were in the fire and at the docks. And now while they were laying in bed together. “Relax. I’m not changing my mind. I want this. Besides I think it’s a done deal with Miles and Celina.”

“True.” Tim says and he presses a kiss to the side of her head. “You know I want this too. I’m going to do better.”

“I know Tim.” Lucy says. She reaches under the sheets and pulls her shirt off. Tim’s hands are still on her stomach. She can’t believe this is actually happening. She gets the love of her life back. The more emotionally available Tim. The one she knows he fought so hard to bring out.

I’ve spent enough nights without you.

“I have a question.” She says. “How many nights did you spend working up the nerve to ask me.”

“Too many.” He admits. “I don’t sleep without you. The two nights that we—those were the best nights of my life.”

“Mine too.” Lucy says and she turns over to face him. His eyes search her face and then he rolls over so he’s hovering over her.

“You don’t waste any time do you?” She asks. He shakes his head his eyes full of mischief.

And love.

And happiness.

“No.” He says. “I don’t.” He swoops down to kiss her, and all the worry, all the fear and pain leaves. Everything that has happened has led to this moment and then being this close and in love.

It’s all she has ever wanted for a long time. And Tim being more emotionally healthy—

Well that was just a bonus.

A very good bonus.

***

Lucy wakes up to Tim wrapped around her. His face is buried in her neck and she wonders if he could even breathe. She moves a little and Tim mumbles something pressing a kiss to her neck.

“What are you doing?” He mumbles as she moves to get out of the bed.

“Bathroom.” She says. She loves Tim, and she would love nothing more than to stay in bed with him.

But—

She goes into the bathroom and looks in the mirror. Her hair is messed up, definitely looking like she had sex. Her face is flushed, and she looks—happy. She goes to the bathroom and then goes back to the counter to wash her hands.

She looks at all Tim’s stuff on the counter. It’s neatly lined up, and she imagines all her stuff with his.

Hers and his.

His and hers.

I want you all the way in my life.

Lucy stands there and looks in the mirror some more. She doesn’t hear Tim come into the bathroom but she does feel him pull her up against him.

“What’s wrong?” She asks. Tim presses a kiss to her neck and she catches his gaze in the mirror.

“You were taking too long.” He says. “I am used to you being next to me.”

“It hasn’t even been a full night.” She says.

“It doesn’t matter.” Tim says. “I want you next to me—always.”

“I can do that.” Lucy says. “I will be next to you. Always.”

“Good.” Tim says and he takes her hand and leads her back to bed. “That’s good.”

***

Lucy wakes up again but this time to an empty spot next to her and noise coming from the kitchen. She sighs and throws on Tim’s shirt before she makes her way out to the kitchen. There are boxes on the floor and Tim is moving things aside in the cabinets.

“What are you doing?” She asks stepping over the boxes. Tim turns around to face her and his face lightens up when he sees her.

“Making room for your stuff.” He says. “And I got more boxes. I think if we do a little at a time.”

Lucy makes her way over to him and loops her arms around his neck pulling him down to kiss her.

“Have I mentioned I love you? And you are adorable.” She says. “Thank you.”

“Don’t let anyone here you call me that.” He says. “But I love you too.” Lucy hums against his lips as he runs his hands up her shirt.

“You are wearing my shirt.” He says. Lucy raises her eyebrows at him.

“Do you mind?” She asks. She didn’t have much here anyway and wearing Tim’s clothes was one of her favorite things. All his shirts smell like him, and she loves it.

“Yes.” He says. Lucy gapes at him, her jaw dropping and he puts his fingers under her chin and then moves his fingers to the bottom of the shirt. “I prefer it off of you.”

Oh.” She says.

“Hmm.” He says and he moves the shirt up. She just watches half in awe and half a little frozen as he pulls it off and tosses it aside. “You know what the best part of living here is?”

“What’s that?” She asks. Tim moves his hand down her face and his eyes dart to her chest and then back to her face.

“No interruptions.” He says. “No roommates. No—” There’s a bark from the living room and Tim groans a little. Lucy laughs and picks up the shirt again.

“We have a dog.” She says. She slips the shirt back on and bends down when Kojo comes running into the kitchen right to her.

“Oh what a good boy.” Lucy coos scratching behind his ears. “You are going to be seeing a lot more of me.”

Kojo licks her hand and then trots over to Tim and sits in front of him. “Come on.” Tim says and he shoots Lucy a look before he’s leading Kojo to get his food. They disappear and then come back into the room.

Lucy watches as Tim bends down to pet the dog. Kojo isn’t paying any attention as Tim scratches him behind his ears. Lucy moves closer and crosses her arms across her chest.

“I got her back boy. Just like we discussed.” Tim whispers. Lucy’s heart pounds in her chest as she backs up a little as Tim stands up and turns to face her.

“You talk to Kojo?” She asks and she’s not sure how this man could get any better. Adorable. Soft and loving.

Oh and all hers.

“Sometimes.” He says and he comes back over to her. “Breakfast?”

“Sure.” Lucy says. “Do you need help?”

“No.” Tim says. “I want to do this for you. Go relax.” Lucy gives him a look and then sits down at the counter. She watches as he takes all the pots and pans out. She watches as he turns around and she admires his back. It’s silent—save for Tim moving around the kitchen pulling the ingredients out.

“Hey.” She says and he turns around to look at her. “Ask me again.”

“Ask you what?” Tim asks looking confused. He walks over to the counter, and Lucy leans over to meet him in the middle.

“You know what.” She says. “Ask me again Tim.” Tim blows out a breath and leans closer his ghosting hers.

“Lucy, will you move in with me?” He asks. “I know you are worried. I know I messed up. But—”

“Yes.” She says. “Yes. I will move in with you.”

“Good.” Tim says. “I love you.” Lucy relaxes a little as Tim leans in to kiss him.

“I love you too.”
