Is it bad to want what others have? Is it bad to be loved like this?

Summary:

The peaceful atmosphere in the Solar System begins to crumble when Saturn's largest moon, Titan, decides to get closer to Earth. But not because of the habitable planet itself, but because of someone else...

Chapter Text

In the Inner Solar System, the usual routine prevailed.

The Sun was telling his favorite puns to Mercury, and the little planet had to laugh at them, for he didn't want the star to get angry again, knowing his inevitable mood swings.

Venus was bored in his orbit, while Earth, Luna, and Mars were playing space poker.

Or rather, two planets were playing, because Luna managed to win first, so the moon watched as his older brother and his best friend waged a silent war for the win.

But his attention to the game was interrupted by an unfamiliar voice.

"Pssst, hey!"

Turning around, Luna glanced in confusion toward the source of the voice and noticed a silhouette in the distance.

"Do I know you?" He asked and then tensed up, "Wha—are you that crazy planet that lives in the Asteroid Belt?"

"What? No, I'm not a planet." The silhouette itself asked confusely and then came more closely.

It was a young man with emerald green hair, in which orange strands with a few clouds were visible and light ocher eyes.

"I'm Titan, Saturn's Moon." He introduced himself.

"You're a moon? Ha! No way!" Luna chuckled, not believing it.

"Why'd you say that?" Titan asked.

"You look pretty big for being a moon. I mean, you're way bigger than Pluto, you may be even bigger than Mercury!" The gray satelite emphasized this while looking at his new acquaintance.

"Well, I don't know about that. You're just-" Before Titan could finish speaking, Luna's eyes lit up, noticing something.

"Hold on, is that an atmosphere? Oh, I'd kill for one of those!" Luna said, staring at the large satellite, causing him to shrink slightly.

"Hey, uh... can you-" Titan asked, feeling uncomfortable when he was looked at like that.

"Yes, sorry. Too much." Luna replied, rubbing the back of his head shyly, "So, why are you here?"

"I just wanted to meet you. You're Earth's Moon after all." Titan replied.

"I see. You're interested in the Earth?" Luna asked, glancing quickly at his older brother.

"I mean, who isn't? He has the conditions to sustain life, he has liquid water!" Titan exclaimed with delight.

"I guess he's unique, but we all are in our own way! I believe every one of us-" Luna answered with a smile, but now he didn't have time to finish.

"Can you introduce me to the Earth? Pleaaaaaassssee~" Titan asked with an innotation that reminded Luna of what little earthlings, when they ask their parents about something.

"Won't Saturn notice you're gone?" The grey satellite asked, glancing at Saturn in the distance.

"Saturn has 146 moons. It'll take him a while." Titan waved it off casually.

"Hmmm, well alright," Luna answered, "I think the Earth wouldn't mind getting to know you."

"Thanks! Oh, you're the best!" Titan practically beamed with joy, and two moon begin to approach the two rocky planets.

"Is he really a moon?" Luna thought to himself.

What Luna didn't know that the meeting would become the starting point for a change in the Solar System...
