The camera is already recording when Bakugou drops onto the couch beside Shouto, arms crossed and scowling.
“Can’t believe I agreed to this,” he grumbles. “A damn TikTok Q&A. What’s next — dance challenges?” Their PR have been nagging them to post something on their social media accounts.
Shouto tilts the phone carefully, framing both of them.
“I would watch you dance,” he says honestly.
Bakugou chokes. “That’s not happening.” Shouto giggles.
Shouto presses record properly and smiles calmly at the camera.
“Hi, everyone. Today, my current boyfriend and I are going to answer some of your questions.”
Bakugou side-eyes him.
“…Current?”
Shouto scrolls.
“First question: ‘Who said I love you first?’”
Bkugou smirks. “He did. Two a.m. Whispered it like I wasn’t awake.”
Shouto blinks. “You knew?”
“Yeah. You were hanging onto my shirt like a koala.”
Shouto pouts and Katsuki’s eyes softens.
“That sounds right.” Shouto says still pouting, Katsuki pecks his cheek. "Don't worry Princess, I said it better." He says then Shouto lightly slaps his arm.
Next question.
“Who cooks better?”
Bakugou points at himself. “Me.”
Shouto nods.
“He’s correct. My food is… experimental.”
“You tried freezing pasta,” Bakugou mutters. “On purpose.”
Shouto looks thoughtful. “The texture was interesting.”
Another question pops up.
“What is something cute your partner does?”
Shouto answers excitedly with a cute smile and Katsuki just looks at him smitten.
“He pretends to be scary, but he checks my tea and waits until it cools.”
Bakugou turns pink. “That’s logistics.”
“And,” Shouto continues, “he pulls me closer when I have nightmares.”
Bakugou looks away. “…Yeah. Your turn.”
He exhales.
“He tends to play with my hair when I'm not feeling well but that's whatever.” Katsuki says with a shrug. "Everything my princess does is cute."
Shouto blushes and hides his face in his arm. Katsuki lays his head on his hand and with a grin mutters, "cute." Shouto smiles, tiny and warm.
Then Shouto casually drops the prank:
“Last question: ‘Do you think it’ll last?’ I’ve been with my current boyfriend for—”
Bakugou freezes then grabs his face with a frown.
“Quit saying current.”
Shouto blinks. “Why?Is it bad?”
“It sounds like you’re shopping for a replacement,” Bakugou says flatly.
“If there’s an upgrade—”
Bakugou leans towards his face.
“I'm the best and only one.” He says then let's go of Shouto’s face.
Shouto almost laughs.
“So you don’t want to be my current boyfriend?”
Bakugou scoffs. “No. I’m your forever boyfriend.”
Silence. His face goes scarlet.
“I— MEANT — FOR NOW — don’t post—!”
Shouto squeezes his hand.
“I like forever.”
Bakugou glares at the screen. “Comments better say I’m winning.”
Shouto kisses his cheek.
“He already won.” Shouto says looking at the screen.
The video ends.
And yes — Shouto posts it.

A few days later.
Katsuki props his phone against the lamp on their nightstand, camera barely peeking through the books. He checks the angle — perfect view of the bedroom door and the bed.
He smirks. “Payback time.”
He flops back onto the pillows, pretending to scroll on his phone.
The door opens.
Shouto steps in, already in his hero suit, zip not fully closed. He leans down and presses a soft kiss to Katsuki’s forehead.
“I’ll pass by the ramen place and pick up dinner after patrol,” he says gently. “I love you.”
Katsuki keeps his eyes on his screen.
“'Kay. Have fun at work.”
There’s a beat of silence.
Shouto straightens, blinking.
“…I said I love you.”
“Yeah,” Katsuki says casually, eyes still locked on his phone. “Heard you. Go on — you’ll be late.”
Shouto stares at him, confused.
He leans closer again.
“I love you.”
Katsuki bites back a grin.
“Uh-huh. Don’t forget to get extra dumplings.”
Another pause — longer this time.
Shouto’s brows knit, the faintest pout appearing. “Did I… do something wrong?”
Katsuki’s chest tightens — but he sticks to the plan.
“Not really. You're gonna be ready, go already.”
Shouto stays frozen beside the bed. He straightens up and looks like he's about to go to war. The last time Katsuki didn’t say 'I love you back.' was when Shouto chose to cancel plans with Katsuki and have dinner with stupid Deku.
(Shouto came home after his dinner with Midoriya and Katsuki was watching TV. "I'm back." He says and Katsuki doesn't reply. Shouto goes to look for him in the living room.
"Babe. I'm back." He says again. Katsuki shrugs without a word. "Katsuki, everything fine?" Shouto asks seeing Katsuki’s silence. "Yeah wouldn't it be."
Katsuki says then gets up. "I'm going to bed." Katsuki says and shouto follows close behind.
"Where are you going?" Katsuki asks standing in front of the door. "To bed with you, obviously first shower-" Shouto is stopped by Katsuki’s laugh. "Why would you go to bed with me? Go sleep with stupid Deku since you like him so much." Katsuki says then closes the door in Shouto’s face.)
Shouto remembers thinking that Katsuki is petty until he got no kisses for days then he had to just grovel.
He says it again — softer this time, like he’s testing the words:
“Katsuki. I love you.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Katsuki says then pretends to laugh at something on his phone.
Shouto goes quiet.
He looks down at his hands.
“I don’t understand,” he says, voice small but still calm. “I'm sorry, I'm really sorry for whatever i did." His voice sounded small and broken like he was going to cry.
Katsuki's eyes immediately fall into him, Shouto looked broken and hurt and apologetic this makes Katsuki feel a guilty punch straight in the heart.
This was fun — until it wasn’t.
Shouto hesitates at the bedside.
“If I upset you, tell me. I don’t want to leave while you’re mad at me.”
And that’s it. Katsuki sits up immediately.
“Okay — nope — prank over.”
He reaches across the bed and grabs Shouto’s face gently.
Shouto blinks. “…Prank?”
Katsuki sighs, dragging a hand through his hair.
“Yeah. ‘Not saying I love you back’ prank. I was getting revenge for that stupid ‘current boyfriend’ thing.”
Shouto processes that.
Then his shoulders relax — but his eyes are soften and there's relief.
“You didn’t want to say it back… on purpose?”
Katsuki grimaces. “Was supposed to be funny. Then you started pouting and asking if you did something wrong and—” He gestures, frustrated at himself. “I hated it.”
Shouto leans in slowly to his touch.
“So you do love me?”
Katsuki glares — then hooks his arms around Shouto’s waist and pulls him into a kiss that’s firm and steady and impossible to misunderstand. It answered his question, 'obviously'
He murmurs against his lips:
“I love you. I love you. I love you. There. Take a damn surplus.”
Shouto smiles — that tiny relieved one.
“Thank you. I don’t like the prank.” He says pouting.
“Yeah,” Katsuki mutters. “Me neither.” He says tempted to kiss away that pout.
"Did you record it though?" Shouto asks him holding his hand.
Katsuki glances at the hidden camera then points at it. Shouto gets up and grabs the camera.
“Still gonna post it.” He says with a smile.
Katsuki clicks his tongue. “Why?”
“So everyone sees you cracked first.”
Shouto kisses his cheek. “And how obsessed you are with my smile.”
Katsuki groans.
“Go to work before I keep you here.”
Shouto gives one last kiss, whispering:
“I love you.”
Katsuki squeezes his hand.
“I love you too. Always.”
Shouto finally leaves.
Katsuki groans into a pillow. “Never doing that one again.”
And yes.
Shouto posts it.
