Summary:

With four of the five virtues turning into beast and Morning glory now watching the Sage of truth almost turn into one as well, she locks herself and her people from the world and becomes the beast of neglect.

It’s not finished yet

Notes:

This is only a short piece of the one shot but I wanted to post it anyway. I do have more written down but I don’t feel like copying what I have on paper to my phone right now :p

Work Text:

Watching her lover turn insane day by day felt like someone was ripping out her wings.

Morning glory just couldn’t take it anymore.

Watching nobody listen to the truth. The reason why the Witches had created cookie kind in the first place.

It just pained her

All of it

It pained her that she couldn’t help the Sage of Truth and her friends. It pained her that she couldn’t help fight the Witches for what they had done. It pained her that she was turning into a monster.

Morning glory was turning into something almost unrecognizable. Her wings looked like moths still keeping their silver, purple, and blue color. Hands turned into claws having a lust for blood. And worst of all the Sage of truth didn’t even know.

How could she tell her, the love of her life that she was turning into something they probably wouldn’t even love anymore.

It hurt so much

Morning glory couldn’t take it anymore

So she closed off the borders, not wanting others in or let anyone out. She didn’t want anyone knowing what she had become.

Her people were worried about her. They had the right too, they were like her children. They even called her mother sometimes.

But now there is no one under her care. Morning glory was put into the very tree she helped grow, with the other beast. Imprisoned in her own kingdom.

She almost cried watching her love, the Sage of Truth try and save her. Crying out to her. Anything she could possibly do in that moment.

It was no use though

She watched half of her people leave with Sage to the Spire of Knowledge, the other half staying in the Silver kingdom waiting for the return of their queen.

It would be a thousand and maybe more years before that ever happened

Morning glory would see that Sage would come and visit the Silver tree sometimes, sitting under the leaves staring at the sky. Sometimes leaving flowers when she left.

It pained her that she couldn’t sit by her side. Instead she was trapped with the other four beast, watching as Burning spice tried to break free from their jail.

Morning glory never really liked Burning spice after she became a beast. Well she never really liked her from the beginning if she told you the truth. She didn’t like the way the other was always close to Sage, when they met for important things.

Most people knew Sage and Morning glory were in a relationship, so why did Spice try so hard! It infatuated glory to the highest degree, and if she wasn’t the reasonable person she was glory would have done something about Burning spice after long time ago.

But for now she sat and watched. Not interacting with the others, minding her own business as the others try to find a way to break out of the tree.

The Sage of Truth, True blue cookie was always a happy person. She had a cheerful attitude around her people, always delighted when with her friends, and most loving when with Morning glory.

The love of her life

The one who cut her out

It was like the Witches were punishing her for something she didn’t do. Why did Morning glory not ask for help, why did she cut out the world out, why couldn’t it have been her to turn into a beast.

Even if she was the Fount of Knowledge, Sage couldn’t rap her head around why Morning glory wouldn’t tell her that was going through something, something that would turn her into a beast.

But Sage just couldn’t sit there and try to solve unanswered questions, she had a kingdom and school to run. After Morning glory’s fall and imprisonment, Sage had to look over the Blueberry academy and the Silver kingdom. Though the kingdom ran fine without her, Sage would still come and check on them from time to time.

Today Sage came to check on the tree, making sure the seal wasn’t damaged. The Silver tree itself was standing tall, and cold to the touch as it always was.

“I brought you more flowers love, it’s lavender this time” god she probably looked crazy talking to a tree.

Sage then sat down at the base of the tree, and closed her eyes. Listening to the wind blow softly and the wing beats of the fae around her.

Then something or rather someone broke the silence. “Sage of truth we have a visitor” Sage opened her eyes to find Mercurial knight standing in front of her. “Visitor?” She questioned. The knight just nodded as Sage got up.

“Aren’t the borders closed off, how did someone get anywhere close?” Sage continued as she followed Mercurial through the forest. “We have no idea. He said something about seeking the truth, and we thought you would be interested.” Mercurial remarked.

Sage frowned at her words. What truth was this unknown cookie talking about, and why come to a place like Beast-yeast? Something just didn’t feel right.

“Who is watching this cookie right now?”

“Silverbell”

After a few minutes the two made it to the first Silver river. There Silverbell and the unknown cookie were sitting by the bank of the river, talking to one another. Silverbell herself turned around when she heard the wing beats of Mercurial knight.

Silverbell’s face lights up when she sees her sister, moving to get up and hug her.

It must be nice having someone to care for.

“Your majesty, Sage of truth!” Exclaimed Silverbell as she stopped hugging Mercurial to bow down. “Please forgive me for I didn’t see you standing there”

“No need to bow, and please you can just call me Sage” she watches as Silverbell gives an embarrassed look, and also watched as the unknown cookie got up from sitting locking eyes with Sage. “And who might you be?”

The cookie jumped slightly at her words playing with his staff before answering. “My name is White Lily” his voice was soft and mellow as he spoke. “My friend here told me you were seeking something, what might you be looking for” Sage said, something in her tone of voice sending chills down lily’s spine.

Though visibly uncomfortable he answers anyway. “I came here to find the answers of cookie kind”

Mercurial frowned at his words knowing nothing good could come from this, Silverbell on the other hand just watched to see what Sage would do. She too knew this wasn’t going to go well, no one dared to say anything of that nature near The Sage of truth after what went down.

Sage in question had this smile on her face. It was a small on but it gave off something scary. “Well it looks like you came to the right place” saying this as she used magic to make her staff appear in her hand.

Sage then told the two sliver knights to go back to their post as she took White Lily into the Faerie kingdom.

Mercurial looked unsure, that smile was still plastered on Sage’s face, but she followed the order taking Silverbell with her.

“What’s your name?” Asked White Lily as soon as the two fae had left. “I go by many names The Sage of truth, Fount of knowledge, her majesty, principle, but you can just call me True blue cookie or Sage”

It was a while before anyone spoke. They continued walking through the forest, getting closer to the fog.

“You run a school?” Asked White Lily after a while. Sage just hummed as a response as she twirling her staff around.

“We’re here” this confused White Lily. There was literally nothing but fog.

Sage twirled her staff some more. Then out of nowhere she hit it against the ground, and twisted it like a key.

And almost instantly the fog cleared, revealing the kingdom beyond it. The kingdom was one of the most beautiful things White Lily had ever seen. A big silver tree stood tall in the middle, pod like structures hanged from the surrounding trees as well as lights with a blue glow just like the street lights. There was also greenhouse around the edges of the kingdom, but what caught his eye the most was the bigger tree north of the one in the middle, and a weird building south of it that kind of looked like a church? Odd

“So tell me about this knowledge that you seek”

“O-oh mhm well I’ve been on a quest of sorts, looking for the reason why cookiekind was created by the witches” White Lily replied his face flushed with embarrassment as he tried to hide behind his staff.

These words Sage’s smile falter a little. She knew that nothing good would happen looking for a thing like that. And this cookie should know that.

But something inside Sage was telling her to let him fall. To fall into madness like she had, and watch all of his loved ones turn on him.

But she couldn’t do that to someone, not to him not right now.

“Well, if it’s knowledge you seek then maybe I could take you to my academy. You’ll find mostly everything there.” And when Sage said mostly everything she meant it, though she knew White lily wouldn’t find anything about the witches.

White lily just nodded

Then more time passed and in the blink of an eye it was close to maybe 8. The only reason Sage knows this is because it gets colder when it gets closer to midnight, also White lily was shaking like a leaf. She should have just left him outside, but Sage brought him to a spare room in the “palace” to be honest Sage didn’t know what to call this big tree, she would call it some sort of treehouse though that really didn’t fit, but that wasn’t one of her concerns right now. Sage had bigger fish to fry.

Now she was on the balcony of the spare room. Looking at that damned tree. She wished they would have been locked up deep underground, so she wouldn’t have to be reminded of them because of a thing she looked at everyday. Or maybe Sage wished they were never locked up in the first place. She would gladly face the consequences.

Then she made the mistake of looking over at White lily. He kept glancing at her, failing badly at being discreet. Well not at her exactly but her staff, to be more specific Sages souljam.

She sighed before speaking. “It was gifted to me, to us by the Witches” Sage suddenly talking made White lily jump, and blush out of embarrassment.

“When you say “us” I’m assuming you don’t mean you and me. White lily said turning to face Sage. “Are there more people with souljams well besides . . . never mind.”

That was something?

“You catch on quick” she said with a sigh. “That tree in the middle, the Silver tree is where we keep the other souljam holders.” She probably shouldn’t be telling a stranger that especially this kid, but she had a feeling that he would find out sooner or later.

Notes:

Sorry for leaving y’all on a cliffhanger all the time while I try and write the rest of this, but don’t worry it will be worth it in the end
