Work Text:
“Char! I can’t believe you made this sandwich! I love you not working, you can be my wife!” praises Samantha.
A marriage proposal? Over a sandwich? Surely marriage meant more than just cooking for one’s partner or did it not? Is that all what a wife is supposed to do? If yes, then it is jarring.
Samantha does talk in the air a lot and flirts with Charlotte a lot so no one takes it seriously. But c’mon it was just a sandwich; it shouldn’t have been basis for talk of marriage even if in jest.
Anyways, it is not as if she is gay nor is Samantha surprisingly. Maybe it was sweet of her to offer such a huge compliment. Ugh! Why was Charlotte thinking about it so much in the first place it wasn’t that serious!
It is not as if Charlotte was going to think about what it would entail being married to Samantha. Okay fine, let’s imagine just for curiosity’s sake.
Firstly, that marriage will involve a lot of sex, of course it would! It’s Samantha we’re talking about! But not just sex no; amazing, mind-blowing sex. So, that must be a plus, right? And it’s not as if Charlotte has an aversion to sex or something. Everyone loves good sex or at least everyone should.
Well, there is a problem about having children but it is not as if her and Trey did not face that problem. Besides, the bigger problem would be Samantha not wanting them and Charlotte wanting them and neither of them budging from what they want.
But Charlotte wouldn’t want to end her fictional marriage the way her real one seems to be ending so let’s stop thinking about that, okay?
What next?
Money maybe? That’s not a problem as they both are rich, though not rich enough but enough to have everything they want. And it is no secret that Samantha will spoil her, with dresses, pearls, trips, jewellery, shoes, and whatever else Charlotte ever wanted.
Charlotte would also never have to deal with a dysfunctional dick and question her own sexual appeal and so that is a big, big advantage.
What else does a marriage comprise of? Responsibilities? They are both responsible adult women so again that won’t be an issue.
Additionally, Samantha would never burden Charlotte with all the domestic chores alone just because she is a woman and it is a woman’s duty to clean up. No crazy and unrealistic demands from her on basis of gender. That sounds amazing.
No crazy mother-in-law drama not only because Sam doesn’t have a crazy mom but also because she is never let anyone talk down on Charlotte. Sam puts people in their places even now when they are just friends so that protectiveness will remain or even heighten if they were to get married.
There would also be no shame in wearing sexy lingerie like it was with Trey. Charlotte is fairly certain Sam will enjoy it quite a lot. Charlotte wonders what kind of sexy clothes Sam prefers, definitely a lot bolder than what she herself wears.
Would she have to move into Samantha’s apartment or will Sam move into hers.
Charlotte could be a housewife for Sam. She could cook her homemade meals and bake her desserts wearing cute aprons. Then Samantha will come home in the evening and bring her flowers and then they would have a nice dinner and talk about their day and get in bed with their matching sheets and blankets.
Then they could talk about mindless things or art or Sam’s clients or just make out.
Sounds cute.
They could go shopping together and Charlotte would hang off Samantha’s arm and Sam would flaunt her perfect wife and be patient and watch Charlotte try on each dress she likes. Let’s be honest Samantha would probably do this even now.
They would attend their classic brunches with Carrie and Miranda and play footsie under the table. Sam would make lewd jokes about their bedroom life and Char would cover her face while the others laugh. Carrie would give her so much shit for this. It would be adorable.
If they ever had fights Carrie and Miranda would help them out or help make it worse more likely.
When they would go on trips Char would have both friends and her wife by her side. That would be heaven!
They could get a dog! Sam probably won’t help much but Charlotte can do it all on her own.
They could go on dates to restaurants or to museums and Charlotte wouldn’t have to worry about boring her with her interests.
This pretend fictional marriage is turning out way better than Charlotte initially thought.
Is it just because they both are women or because they are them? Are all sapphics relationships this good or is it just as bad as with men? Seems like Charlotte would have to bring this topic up during one of their brunches.
Not the marriage with Sam one of course, Char would never speak of it to a soul…
