"I've got the information that scientists from Metro city have created a new powerful device,which will make you say only the truth.You must steal it from their lab and when shot Gadget and maybe some other agents.They will tell me all dark secrets and when finally with this knowledge I will defeat Gadget"
That was the first thing Talon has heard after entering his uncle's office.Of course,another"genius evil plan,which will be 100% successful".It was kinda annoying hearing and especially doing that stupid stuff,but he got no choice.And yeah, uncle's Clo will destroy Gadget has one significant benefit for Talon.He could fight with and/or flirt with Pretty Penny almost every day.So what the point to complain if he could just enjoy the process of causing problems and fighting with blondy girl(or getting stuck with Penny somewhere with no exit and working together to save their lives and when pretending what nothing happened,it was also excellent way of spending his time for sure).With these thoughts Talon got ready and went to the Metro city police agency,where the lab was placed.
Finding the way to enter the base was really easy.Talon just used his disguise and followed one gullible agent.He hasn't seen Penny yet,but it wasn't surprising - she probably was just hanging out somewhere with her stupid uncle.But when she didn't appear when Talon broke into lab when the truth device was,he started worrying.Is he gonna take this machine without any problems and his usual fight with Pretty Penny.That was strange.
When Talon was about to leave,still staying puzzled,the girl,who was definitely not Penny, appeared.She was brown-skinned and had auburn hairin tied up in a high puff.Talon knew what she was one of Penny's bestfriend and her name started with K,but tbh,he didn't care at all.
"Who are you and where the hell is Penny?"- he rudely asked her, pointing his gum gun at her.
"Woah,calm down pls, it's almost my first task,doing all by myself and I don't like your tone.But now I get why Penny called you a pretty guy,you deserved to be called like with even by one of the most beautiful girl in whole Metro city(my opinion, don't judge)My name is Kayla and I am..."
"I don't care who you are or what Penny was saying about me"He blushed and looked away and Kayla understood what the last thing was lying for sure.She smirked and made a reminder for herself to tell Penny that curious thing.
"Oh, really? I'll tell Pen it, don't worry."
"Hey,who dare you are??Never mind.Just..."- he ran a hand over his face."Just tell me already where is she??Why you the one who is stopping me and not her?
"Look, someone is missing Penny,omg, we need to to discuss it with her,wait a minute, I'll face time her."Talon moved his finger closer to gun's trigger and Kayla immediately stopped talking.
"Stop,stop,I was just thinking out loud,sorry.She is on the date rn,but will return soon.We can wait for her together." Kayla smiled while pure shock appeared on Talon's face.
"WHERE IS SHE?Whhhat do you mean she is on the date??"His eays widened,he barely could speak.
"Hehehe, the look on your face was unforgettable,such a pity that I didn't take a photo.I am just kidding,she is fired."
"WHAT?"Talon's scream was too loud,even Chief Quimby heard it form his office,placed at the opposite end of long corridor."For...for what?"- he whispered,refused to believe in that.
"HAHAHAHA, you're so gullible,It's so funny to tease you!!But you know,I won't tell where is Penny,I like to watch how handsome boys are suffering,so satisfying!"
Kayla was ready to laugh,but was stopped by a few shots from the gum gun.She couldn't move anymore and looked disappointed by the ending of their conversation.Talon didn't no care about her feelings at slightest,he had enough.Je tried to be as kind as he can,now.it's turn for evil Talon.He change the gum can to truth device and point on Kayla.She was shaking.Without any hesitation Talon pushed a big red button.
"Where is Penny?"- he started his interrogation.
Kayla tried to stay silence,but truth device was doing his job.
"She is sick,so probably at her apartment."
Talon exhaled.Well,at least not dead and not going out with some creeps.
"So, what's her home address?"
"River Road 40, apartment 25.She has got a red door and..."
"That's enough." That talkative girl pissed him off a lot and not in a good way, like it was with Penny."I am gotta go"
Kayla closed her eyes with relive,but suddenly,Talon continued talking.
"So last question, special for you.Are you in love?"
"Y...yes.Professor von Slickstein always was special for me,but I am too scary to express my feelings and..."
"I see.Give me your phone.Right now."
Kayla gave her phone,her hands were shaking.
"What's the password?"
"It's 1207,the day when I came here and met.."
"Don't care."Talon unblocked her phone and opened her chat with Professor von Slickstein.
"Here it's.I would like to write a lot of stuff,but unfortunately,I am in a rush,so it's gonna be just "I hate you, let's stop talking, it will be better for everyone".And,yeah,send"
Kayla was about to cry,while Talon's face was crossed by a beautiful smile.
"Yeah,I am a bad guy,you know?No matter what you were discussing with Penny,I am not gonna be nice with you even if you are a Penny's friend.But not be so upset.If you were Penny,maybe I would secretly help you somehow handle the situation. Unfortunately,you are not,so have a awful day and I hope I'll never see you again."
Talon used his flying boots and flew away through open window.
Kayla stopped crying and giggled.
"I bet that pretty boy doesn't know that I sent same messages almost every week to Professor von Slickstein,he kinda get used to my personality already.And yeah,you forgot our truth device.But who I am to judge Romeo?"
Talon planned to just steal some medicine for Penny from the pharmacy,but it ended up telling sentimental to a cashier about his "girlfriend being I'll and he,just a poor guy with no money, hadn't got any clues about where he need to get money and what without that medicine his " girlfriend" will die and he will grief and etc.The old woman was about to cry at the end of story and gave everything for free and even added some gums as a gift to "poor suffering girlfriend".Swapping invisible tears from his cheeks,he left the pharmacy and threw one gum into his mouth.If only that old lady knew what only one flacon of his hair gel cost more then her month salary.Was he feeling guilty?Eh, maybe?But he got used to this feeling and it didn't bother him anymore.
The gum lost its flavor when he finally reached Penny's house.It wasn't modern,but also wasn't too old - just ordinary Metro city house.Talon decided to use a lift as a ordinary person(he really liked how he looked like during flying,but it might attracted unwanted attention). Penny's apartment was on the 6th floor and while Talon was going up,he thought about one funny thing to do.He took the black marker from his pocket and wrote on the white wall of lift "T+P = love".He also added a small black heart and put a gum near his piece of art.It looked perfect judging by the opinion of the greatest art critic ever(aka Talon).
Finally,he was here, standing near the red door.The table with number 25 looked directly at him.Why his heart was beating so fast? What's was wrong with him?He couldn't and wouldn't describe this feeling.So Talon just pushed the doorbell and started wainting.
After a few minutes,he started worrying.Maybe Penny was somewhere else or she was sleeping.When Talon was about to leave,he heard quiet steps and the red door opened.He looked at his "enemy". Penny's blond hair, which was usually tied in two ponytails, was now loose.She was wearing a blue t-shirt,beige sport pants and slippers - typical home clothes.She looked sleepy, perhaps Talon actually disturbed her while she was resting.
Penny sneeze and finally give a closer look on her vister.
"Talon??What are you doing here?Gonna destroy whole city by your uncle's genius plan and I somehow need to participate?I am sorry,but I am kinda sick so...Wait a minute,where did you get my home address??"
"Omg,calm down Pretty Penny,I am just trying to help you feeling better.See,I even got some medicine for you." He held out his hand with the pills,but she didn't take it.
"I know you,Talon.Let me guess,these tablets are poisoned?Or I will turn into zombie if I'll take them?If you didn't notice,I am already feeling as zombie because of this stulide headache and fever so nothing will change,but anyway."
"Eh, why are you always thinking only about bad things?I can be good.Mhh,sometimes." Penny looked at him incredulously. "Okay,okay,maybe it's quite rare,but trust me,now I wanna help you.That annoying girl(how it was?Kaina?Karla? doesn't matter) literally pissed me off so much,what I even forgot your,I mean,now it's our,truth device.I guess Uncle Clo gonna be upset,but who cares anyway.Look,I even got a receipt from pharmacy!"
Talon showed her a small piece of paper.Penny was carefully studying it when suddenly she felt dizzy and almost fell.Talon was right about to catch her,but she didn't take his hand.Instead of that she leaned on the wall,trying to keep standing.
"Oh,It seems like I forgot to take my pills.Okay,you convinced me,Talon,but if I only I'll turn to something weird, I'll kick your butt.Somehow."
Penny took a pack of medicine from Talon's hands and throw one pill into her mouth.
"Felling better?-Talon asked with awkward smile."I know what it takes time but maybe.."
"Felling just okay to ask you to drink some tea with me." Penny answered,still feling dizzy,but now it wasn't only her illness.It was strange feeling,which she decided not give a proper name yet and just called it "He's not that bad,I guess"
