Work Text:
It's Christmas! A holiday season, meaning the students goes home to celebrate Christmas with their parents. Except for the princes, who stayed with Alexis this time, why? Well, it's their turn to celebrate the season of holiday with their very best friend, Alexis.
However, this isn't about Alexis and his friend but rather his dad and his dad's friend. Holiday meaning they themselves have some time off. Not that Godfreg agreed to spend Christmas with Evan, he was forced to.
Godfreg sighed, looking at the pile of files on his desk. It's Christmas… fun holiday, sure, it's snowing and people are having fun with their loved ones. Godfreg? He's stuck with his best buddy because apparently Evan needs things done before the end of the month and he's the perfect guy for it. One Godfreg equals ten employee he said.
Godfreg groaned when he felt his phone ringing in his pocket. He picked up the phone with dread, expecting the only person he doesn't wanna hear. "Hello?" He calls out, "Hey! It's me, I need you" the caller said. By the sound of it, his worst nightmare came true, the caller was indeed Evan.
"What do you need me for, exactly? No— scratch that. What don't you need me for?" He could hear laughter from the other end. "Relax ! I'm calling you to tell you that you can put work aside for today and tomorrow" Godfreg raised an eyebrow,'today and tomorrow? What the hell is he up to now'
"I need you now, Godfreg…" the pleading tone in Evan's voice sounding like a siren's song, luring him to his death. Godfreg sighed, his face slightly turning red as he frowns. "Where are you" he whispered, hinting at his embarrassment and shame for folding too fast.
"I'm at My house, of course…" Godfreg could hear the sneaky smirk from over the phone. God damn it.
"So what exactly did you need me so— bad, for?" Godfreg showed up at Evan's house, crossing his arms. He was gonna be mad but looking at the jolly looking principal in front of him with a Christmas sweater, he thought that it was quite hilarious… and cute in some way.
"Come in first, I have lots of activities for us" Evan grabbed Godfreg's hand and dragged him along. He stopped to close the door and continued his walk to the kitchen. When they arrived, Godfreg noticed ingredients sprawled out on the table. He cocked an eyebrow.
"What are these…?" Evan stopped and let go of Godfreg's hands. "They're gingerbread house ingredients" he explained, reaching over to tidy up the ingredients. "You called me, tell me to stop working, only for this?" Godfreg frowned, not mad but confused.
"I mean Alexis is busy celebrating with his friends and we don't have anyone else to celebrate this fine day with" Evan sighed, taking off the sweater, revealing his plain white shirt under. "It's quite hot, sorry" he chuckled.
"Well… don't you have Eudora? Hatt? Bowen?" Godfreg took his coat off, placing it on a nearby chair. "They're busy. Apparently, the three of them are spending Christmas together without us…" Evan explained and Godfreg caught the hint of slight sadness in his tone.
The corner of Godfreg's lips arched upwards. "You're too boring for them" he teased trying to lighten up the mood as he walks up to Evan who just happens to be staring into the unknown. Godfreg's hand on his shoulder brought him back to reality.
"So we're building gingerbread houses as the first activity? What else do we have" Evan's eyes widened momentarily before he looks away bashfully. Evan cleared his throat "y-yes… after that, we're gonna make hit chocolates and not just any normal hot chocolate but a decorated one"
"What does the winner get?" Godfreg asked
"A kiss from the loser" Evan smirked.
The answer caught Godfreg off guard, sending him into a blushing mess. He lets go of Evan and walked away, reaching over for parts of the gingerbread house. "Do– do we have a timer?" Evan laughed at Godfreg.
—
They're seated side by side. "Watch me destroy you" Evan smirked, reaching for a piping bag but Godfreg got to it first, snatching it away from Evan. "Oho scary !" Godfreg mocked with a smirk. Evan's eyes widened momentarily before he frowned and reached over for the thing.
Godfreg moved his hand that was holding up the piping bag. "Woah, you want a kiss from me that badly?" Godfreg chuckles. "Don't laugh!" Evan retorted, his face turning red. Godfreg placed his hand on Evan's waist, slightly bending his body backwards so that Evan couldn't reach it.
"C'mon buddy it's a win win either way" Godfreg pressed their body close and turned his own body around, making his back face the table so that he could keep Evan away from his Gingerbread house.
"Godfreg don't piss me off" Evan growled. Just as Godfreg was about to squeeze the piping bag, Evan moved closer to push away Godfreg's gingerbread house across the table. They both started at the Gingerbread house in silence before Godfreg broke out in laughter.
"I forgot how competitive you are" he laughed, wiping tears off his face while Evan stares in awe. "yeah…" Evan stayed in Godfreg's arms for quite a while, until Godfreg himself put distance between them. "Alright, alright, take this damn piping bag" Godfreg laughed. Walking around the table to get back his Gingerbread house.
"And you know, you could've js pinned me down… you're stronger than me, Evan" Godfreg continued while Evan stayed silent, listening to every word the other man spouted. They then continued their Gingerbread house competition smoothly.
Once they were done, they walked away from the houses proudly. "So who is the judge exactly? We're the only two people here" Godfreg said, smiling awkwardly. "There wasn't supposed to be any judge, it wasn't supposed to be a competition" Evan deadpanned.
"I wanted to celebrate a meaningful day with you and…" Evan trailed off, going silent. Godfreg got suspicious and looked at Evan. Godfreg's smile widened when he spotted Evan's Rosy cheeks and frown.
He moved closer to Evan, "you wanted a kiss?" He asked Evan as his voice dropped, startling Evan who quickly covered his ears with his face fully flushed red. "What– NO!" he yelled, bursting Godfreg's eardrums.
"Whatever… next– next is Hot chocolate…" he muttered. Godfreg laughed, leaning in to peck a kiss on Evan's cheeks. "I declare you as the winner" he whispered before walking away and to the counter. Steam could be seen emerging from Evan's head if it were possible.
—
Evan nervously swallowed. He glances over to the man next to him and back to the counter. "I…" he trials off, "nevermind that" he says, walking over to the refrigerator and pulls out a box of chocolate. "I don't know how to make hot chocolate…" he mutters.
Godfreg cocked an eyebrow "really? That's surprising" Evan frowns "what the hell does that mean" he growls but Godfreg just laughed in his face "it means what it means, dummy" Godfreg walks over to Evan and takes the box of chocolate in Evan's hands.
"I'll teach you how to make it" Godfreg smiled. Evan froze, looking at Godfreg with the warm smile etched on the man's face. His body stayed in place and his eyes are glued to Godfreg and the warmth radiating from the man. Evan shook his head, snapping himself back to reality.
He walks over to Godfreg. "Then it won't be a competition." Godfreg rolled his eyes and smirked "it doesn't need to be a competition, Evan… we can just spend Christmas together you know?" Evan gulped and looks away "yeah. Sure." He cleared his throat.
"Great! Let's start with getting the ingredients ready, can you do that for me? I need to remember the recipe" Evan nods and walked away to get everything ready.
Once it's done, evan stares at the ingredients, waiting for Godfreg to tell him the recipe. Godfreg analyzed the recipe book "Place the milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat" he commanded Evan and Evan did as he was told.
Godfreg looks up at Evan "that's it…" he smiled "and then… we whisk in cocoa powder and sugar, and heat it until warm." He continues, looking down at the recipe book in his hand. Evan sighed, it felt boring to him.
Evan starts whisking in silence with Godfreg observing him from the sides, a dangerous glint in his eyes. Godfreg approached Evan to surprise him with a gesture but before he could, Evan spoke up.
"This is boring… come whisk it with me" Evan stops and looks at Godfreg with a smirk as if he just read Godfreg's mind. Godfreg sighed in defeat. "okay, okay" he chuckles, walking over to Evan.
He stands behind Evan, tilting his head to the side to see the bowl as his hands moved to Evan's, guiding him. Evan shivered, feeling the warmth of Godfreg's body pressed against his back. Evan tries focusing on the mixture but he couldn't.
"You can't be rough with the whisking, it'll spill and go to waste" Godfreg chuckles, still holding Evan close. Evan felt his body stiffens as Godfreg continued talking and guiding him, once he's snapped out of his thoughts, Godfreg moved away from him, signaling that they're done.
"What's the– what's the next step, captain" Evan teased. "The book says Reduce the heat to low and add the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips. Whisk constantly until the chocolate has fully melted and the mixture is smooth." Evan gulped
"What kind of book are you even… whatever" Evan sighed. "Last night I checked, your fridge still had some chocolates" Evan looks at Godfreg, cocking his eyebrow. "I'm not even gonna ask" he says, walking off to the fridge for the chocolates.
As Evan works, Godfreg watches him meticulously. The way he moves and the way his rough yet delicate hands graze over the pan, it's as if a predator is eyeing his prey. Godfreg shook his nasty thoughts away and walked over to Evan to check on the progress.
"How are you holding up, sir?" Godfreg returned the tease "we're off the clock, Godfreg… drop the honorifics" Evan didn't look up, fearing if he look at Godfreg, his heard would explode. "I'm almost done, be patient" He continued which Godfreg just laughed in return.
They both stood next to each other behind the counter, looking at their mug of decorated hot chocolates. "Looks yummy" Godfreg smiled, drinking the hot chocolate carefully. "Not as yummy as you look" Evan smirked, the comment almost making Godfreg spit out his drink.
"No time for flatter. Drink your damn hot chocolate, Evan" Godfreg's cheeks reddened as he mumbles against the mug. Evan smiled and turns around, leaning against the counter and drinks the chocolate as he was told to.
They stood there In silence, a comfortable silence. The unspoken tension between the two of them warming up the icey cold weather that had their house surrounded with snow. It was nice for the both of them, no words spoken yet it doesn't feel awkward at all.
Evan glanced at his watch, indicating that it's almost night. "Hey, time really flies" he commented, looking over to Godfreg. "So what do we end our Christmas together with?" Godfreg asked him
He looks up to the ceiling, Thinking.
"How about we watch a movie?" Evan turns to look at Godfreg with a big smile on his face. Godfreg looks at him with a blank expression "what type of movie? You usually fall asleep in the middle of a movie night session" Evan froze at Godfreg's statement. He then looks away bashfully.
"W-well I thought– since Christmas is already ending… I thought we could just- I don't know… spend time together watching movies…until we fall asleep…?" Evan bats his puppy eye to Godfreg, his brows curved upwards in a pleading manner.
Godfreg sighed. "Alright, fine. What are we watching" he asked, taking a sip of the hot chocolate they made together. "How about we watch Klaus? Since we've watched Grinch thousands of times already" Evan smiled, walking over to the sink to wash his empty cup.
"Great, I'll set up the movie" Godfreg pats Evan's shoulder and walks away.
Once it was all set up, Evan sat on the couch while Godfreg sat down on the floor. Evan frowned at the sight. "Hey, why are you sitting on the floor? The couch is big enough for the two of us" he pouts.
Godfreg turned his head around and was met by a frowning Evan with a blanket wrapped around him. He chuckled, "just say you want us to cuddle up, Evan…" the corner of Godfreg's mouth twitched in a smile.
"Yeah yeah whatever you just said… come up…" he mumbled, his face red from embarrassment. As always, he folds and listened to Evan. Godfreg stood up and sat down on the couch next to Evan. "Start the movie, Please."
As the movie starts, Godfreg leaned back against the couch while Evan lay his head on Godfreg's shoulder, snuggling up to the man. They both sat in a comfortable silence as the movie plays in front of them.
It's been quite a while since the last time they've cuddled up like this. Perhaps they were too busy to even have time to themselves but whenever they do, it's just them
Godfreg noticed that Evan could barely keep his eyes open when the movie isn't even near its end. He chuckled to himself softly when he turned his head to look at Evan fully. "Are you tired?" He said softly. Evan jolted up , "huh?" He whispered back.
"No– no, I'm– I'm not… tired…" he yawned. "Don't force yourself to stay awake for the sake of me, Evan… lay your head down and take a nap" he smiled at Evan, the soft tone of his voice sounding like heaven's gate opening to Evan. "You're so nice, Godfreg…" he chuckled.
Evan laid his head back down on Godfreg's shoulder, slowly but surely drifting away into a slumber. Godfreg watched the movie until midway, he decided to stop the movie and go to sleep.
Godfreg eyed the man cuddled up to him and his pupils extends as he smiled softly. He slowly moved himself away, not wanting Evan to wake up while he slowly carries Evan to his bedroom.
Evan grumbled, feeling a soft pillow on his face. He slowly opens his eyes only to be met with Godfreg's pecs as Godfreg holds him close. Evan's eyes widens and he moved away slowly, not wanting to alert Godfreg and wake him up.
Evan thought to himself, 'last thing I knew… we were downstairs… on the couch… and then I fell asleep.' as he was deep in his thoughts, Godfreg slowly opens his eyes and spots Evan deep in his thoughts. He sat up and placed a hand on Evan's shoulder.
"You alright there, buddy?" Godfreg asked, his deep morning voice startled Evan. "hey- hey…" he gave Godfreg an awkward smile. Godfreg is disheveled and his eyes are half lidded, showing that he's barely awake.
"Godfreg, did you– did you carry me up… to the bedroom…?" Godfreg stared at him blankly. "It's only the two of us in this damn house, Evan. And even if it's not, who in their right mind would carry you up into your bedroom?" Evan looks away awkwardly, his ears turning red.
"Well uhm. Thank you…" Evan cleared his throat and faced Godfreg once again. Godfreg smiled "your welcome, Evan." Godfreg replied. "Let's get ready, no? School starts in an hour" he reminded, getting out of the bed and got ready.
"Uhg… I don't want to…" Evan groaned, slumping back down on his bed. "Stop being such a lazy bum, Evan" Godfreg sighed. "I'm not being a lazy bum, I told you you're free from work yesterday and today" Godfreg froze.
"Really?" He cocked an eyebrow, not believing the guy. "Yeah, I wanted to spend more time with you... No work involved..." Evan smirked. Godfreg gulped and sighed, he would always be weak to those ocean eyes.
"Fine... How do you suppose we spend our time together?" Godfreg asked
"You'll see!" Evan beamed
