Forgive me never

Summary:

Isagi, a devil, crosses paths with Kaiser, an outcasted angel, during a chance encounter while Isagi runs errands for his work. What begins as an unlikely friendship slowly deepens into a love destined for doom. As the gods are forced to intervene and the two’s fate turns cruel, selfish choices and fractured memories threaten to erase what they once were.

"I heard the weeping angel again this time, last night was the loudest he had ever been in the church! I wasn't able to sleep all night."

"Really? I didn't hear anything, slept like a baby!”

“He must be real sad, they say angels weep in churches when their lover die.

“Well I think its just an old wives’ tail."

Will Kaiser ever escape the consequences of his decisions?

Will Isagi ever truly remember the angel he once loved?

Notes:

This is a re-upload of my old fic (kinda) and it better formatted than that one. A couple other fics will make cameos but tabietia and kaisagi are the end result. This is heavily inspired by a webtoon and to some extent shadow vanilla from cookie run.

Nevertheless I hope you enjoy this! It will update weekly (hopefully) on saturdays or sundays.

Chapter Text

An angel lay under a leafless tree, his blue tips and blond hair contrasting with the white snow under him. His white and silver drapes of silk covered his body delicately.

“My goodness! Are you okay?” A voice softly spoke, “it’s really cold out here, would…uhh…do you want my coat?”

The boy looked behind, an eye peaking from his luscious hair. He saw a boy, shorter than him, engulfed in blue and gold clothing and a huge fur coat. The boy had short black hair and matalic blue eyes.

Taking the blond boy’s silence as an answer, he placed the furry coat on the boy. As gentle as he could be, as if the boy was porcelain. He slowly got up from his shelter.

“Are you alright? It’s so cold, do you have a frost bite?” The boy spoke his ear off in a matter of seconds.

The blond haired boy held up his finger and pressed it against the blue eyed boys mouth.

“I understand!”

The two boys held the short silence till he spoke again.

“I’m sorry but…do you know the way to the capital? I’m not from here,” the boy pointed to his elegant gold adorned horns, “or rather its been quite a while since I was, I’m a little lost…”

The pretty boy took his hand

“Follow me.” He said, his voice hoarse.

As the two boys approached the capital, cruel mummers surrounded them.

‘How dare he show his ugly face here?’

‘He belongs in hell!’

‘Why are we in his presence?’

Are they talking about me? Goodness, angels are ever so mean!

‘Ugh, it’s that freak again.’

“We’re here.” The boy spoke softly, to the black haired boy who stared at him in concern.

“Are you…okay?” The gold adorned boy said.

“Yes, as you can see, I lack injuries.”

“Thats not what I meant…” the boy looked disappointed by the answer, then his face lit up with an epiphany, “you know what, I’ll be quick. Just wait here for me, alright?”

The angel nodded, sitting on a bench. As time passed, he laid on the bench engulfed by the blue fur coat.

A shadow covered his face and he blinked at it.

“I said I’d be quick, right?” The boy, now back, grinned. “Let’s go?”

He offered his hand and the angel took it, warmth engulfed his hand. The blue clad boy dragged him, smiling, through the capital till they were outside.

“You know, even though it snows here, in heaven,” his smile shone brightly, “I don’t really care! Though it is inconvenient for my wings.”

Cold, pale fingers brushed his back, where his wings were supposed to be, he jittered.

“Where?” The culprit asked softly.

“My wings? I prefer to hide them in cold weather, they get covered in snow and its hard to clean it out.”

The blonde boy held the coat up.

“You’re giving my coat back? Aren’t you cold?”

He shook his head softly

This guy is so nice to me…

“But your hands are so cold!” He exclaimed while wearing the coat, “give me your hands.”

The devil took his hands, blowing at them softly.

“Is this better?”

I could use him…if I wanna get out…

He took his hands back and grabbed the devils waist, leaning in. “What is hell like?”

“W-woah, w-why do you…wanna know?” He exclaimed.

“Curious, never been there.”

“Ah…oh of course…sure…uhh…this position’s…is- is this okay?” He shuffled around till he was hugging the angel instead, wrapping his hands around the cold body.

The angel nodded.

“You know how there are dead trees in heaven? Its different in hell, we also have trees but they grow leaves and colourful flower meadows are all around.

“It’s also a lot warmer, just like how I am warm! The demons are real nice too, we all help each other out” He giggled as the angel spaced out

“So..I was wondering..why are people so mean to you here?” The devil seemed a bit sadder now and the boy turned his head away slightly, “oh it’s alright if you don’t want to tell me! I won't ask further–”

The angel moved his hair slightly revealing light purple scars along his neck, barely noticeable.

“Is that..really why?” The boy asked in shock

“Would demons in hell also be mean to me?”

“No, they wouldn’t.” He said with a small smile, “but please reconsider. Becoming a fallen angel is a really painful process, please trust me. Listen, what if I came by here more often? We could be friends! What do you say.”

The angel nodded, slightly disheartened.

“It’ll be okay,” the demon nuzzled into the angels chest.

“Name?” the angel asked, a quiet plea.

“Hm?”

“Your name?”

“I’m Isagi! It completely slipped my mind! Whats your name?” The demon, Isagi, chuckled.

“Kaiser.”

“Kaiser…what a beautiful name! I look forward to spending time together.” Isagi grinned.

“Me too,” Kaiser spoke softly.

“What are ya doin’ Yoichi?” A voice boomed from behind.

“I’m just picking out some flowers for a…friend, Karasu,” the demon responded with a gentle smile.

The spiky haired boy tilted his head.

“A friend ya say?” He said in a teasing tone.

“Oh come on,” Isagi responded playfully.

A sleepy blob of white awaited Isagi, under the same tree.

“Good morning Kaiser!” The devil grinned, “rise and shine!”

A hand reached out, pulling Isagi closer and soft lips touched his left cheek, right under his eye.

“Woah- what are you doing Kaiser? Do you do this to everyone?” The devil said, turning red by the second.

“Just you.” Kaiser responded calmly to the blushing boy, “these are?”

“Oh! I brought you some flowers from hell! I wanted to show them to you.”

“Flowers? Do you eat them?” He brought a blue petal up to his lips.

“No, no, no!” Isagi took the petal away, “they are for viewing, they're pleasant to look at right?”

“Why?” He asked with a hint of curiosity penetrating his voice

“Humans give it to each other as gifts, for weddings, funerals, birthdays and special occasions!” The demon said cheerfully.

“No use to me.” The boy said monotonously.

“What do you mean?” The demon said, dejected.

“Not human.”

“Well, I still feel like we can enjoy flowers just as much. These cute little humans even gave them meanings!

“Like this one,” he pointed at the periwinkle, “symbolises purity and blossoming friendship.”

“And this one means gratitude,” the boy said, pointing at the desert blue bell.

The demon pointed at the blue rose.

“This one…means impossible love”

“Are you confessing?” The angel asked, a spark in his eyes.

“What! Uh- um- no umm-” The devil sputtered, this voice growing small by the second“I really just brought these to show you, I mean it would be absolutely crazy if I had feelings for you I mean this is our second meeting and all and…hahaha…ha…”

“It’s okay if you love me.” The angel said, looking at the devil right in his dark blue eyes. “Not in love then? With me?

“I mean you’re really handsome and pretty and cute and,” Isagi went on rambling again. “I like hanging out with you and I feel a connection but love is a strong word you know and I mean I don't even know if you like me…”

The boy’s rambling halted, “I…uhhh…do you like me?”

“I do.”

“Ah okay I figured, sorry for asking something that awkward forget i ever said anything-” Isagi halted, almost animatedly. “Wait, you said yes?”

The angel nodded, maintaining his almost practiced poker face.

“Ah! Okay but uh I fee' that maybe we should get to know each other better first?” The devil said, hesitantly.

“Then…come here more…with this flower,” Kaiser held a blue rose. “I will wait.”

“I shall, my cherub.” Isagi smiled, radiant and generous.

Isagi came every day after that, reading with the angel, wandering around and doing what not fun. The devil made Kaiser flower crowns and flower rings, always bringing a blue rose with him. They’d sleep together under Isagi’s warm fur coat and waved each other a tender goodbye each time the day came to an end.

Little did they realise a peculiar white haired angel was watching them, almost seemingly annoyed by the happiness Kaiser received day in and day out.

“Hey Isagi!” A body crept behind Isagi.

“Ah! Karasu, you scared me!” He said, leaning back in surprise. In his hands were a bunch of plucked flowers.

“Hahaha, sorry, didn’ mean ta.” Karasu said, unapologetically chuckling, “how are ya doin’?”

“I’ve been keeping well, remember the guy I told you about?” He spoke, a love struck expression on the pale skin of his face. “I’ve been hanging out tons with him and spending time with him really, really, makes me happy.”

“That damn- that guy in heaven?”

“...Yeah” Isagi said, a hint of nervousness in his gentle voice.

“So this…guy in heaven…are ya…goin’ out with him?” A hint of skepticism seeped in Karasu’s voice, concern painted his rough features.

“We- um well I wouldn’t say that…we do like…spend time…not like that but uh…” he became redder, more nervous, by the second. “And I do get him flowers…maybe…so I kind of like him…uh..maybe..?”

“Are ya stupid?” Karasu retorted, hitting his head.

“I know…the consequences but he’s so…pretty and I just don’t want to leave him alone…”

“Ya know angels. He’s probably manipulating ya.” Karasu’s voice grew stern.

“I know,” Isagi said. Dragging the syllables, “but he's so cute!”

“Yer a lost cause, don’t say I didn’t warn ya” Karasu simply shook his head. “I’ll see ya at yer funeral.”

“You’re so mean!” The short boy pouted, but sighed looking at his reflection in the water.

He’s right…I need to talk to him…
