Alastor always wanted to have his own radio studio. Growing up when his dad was working late shifts, Alastor and his mom were always listening to the evening radio shows that played the music, the stories, and the news that was happening in New Orleans. But not everything was perfect in Alastor's life. On days when his father was home Alastor had to witness the abuse his mother was put through by his dad. The abuse his mom went through affected her mental health and her performance at work. It was only a matter of time till she lost her job.
It wasn’t until one evening his mother came home and having a smile on her face.
“Alastor sweet pie, mama got good news.”
Alastor was sitting at the kitchen table listening to the static of the radio, lifting his head up.
“Yeah mama?” He asked his head, turning to his mother.
“Mama got a new job, and I want to bring you to my job tonight, and I think you’ll make a new friend while we are there.”
Alastor didn’t want to go, but loving his mom and it’s better than staying home with his dad, he’ll go but not in any mood to make any friends.
The evening sky was being lit up by the stars that reigned over head, as the tram rattled under his feet Alastor looked out of the trams windows seeing huge homes pass by him with the reflection of his glasses, can’t recall how many minutes went by but feeling a soft tug on his shirt seeing his mother’s arm that followed.
“Come on sweetheart we’re here.” Her smile was always kind, that was something he always loved about her.
When walking into the house the floors shined like they were made of gold, the white and ivory walls that stood taller than ever Alastor taking in the building the decor isn’t the best but it’s better than other places he’s seen.
“Ah! Matilda Hartfelt!” A voice roared through the corridor. Alastor took a look seeing a man dressed in whites, blues and gold. The man had wavy brown hair resembling tree bark.
“It’s a pleasure always seeing you here, I’m sorry for the last-minute notice but you see my daughter saw a dress in a book of hers that she needed me to call you immediately-” Man apologizing as he scratches his neck behind his hair.
“Oh, not a problem Nathaniel, it's always a pleasure!” Matilda stood straight again with that kind smile.
“Well Eve should be sitting in her bedroom. I got some work to do so I’ll let you guys be.” The man quickly took off, Alastor looking up toward his mom seeing her hold her sewing kit so proudly that made him smile, because he enjoys seeing his mama happy.
As Alastor and his mom walked down the hall doors filling each side one door was open with a soft glow and as he turned the corner along with his mom seeing a little girl covered in teals and greens with long brunette hair, that was held up together in a fluffy braid.
